Ultimate Horror Film Thread

Literally at the end of the first one Jason jumps out the river to pull the lone survivor in the river.. even though it was a dream/premonition it was a hint at what was to come.. in fact 1 of the producers literally force that scene to be shot and put in just in case the first movie was a hit and they thought of doing a sequel.. one producer crazy idea ended becoming a shitload of sequels that generated a shitload of money as far as horror flips where they cheap to make and the studios make like 6 times their budget

There's so much violence against children in it that if Stephen King's IT were faithfully adapted, you'd probably go crazy.

The book opens with Pennywise drowning a 3-year-old in the toilet, he kills Bill's 6-year-old brother by pulling his arm clean off, he pulls the head off one kid when he's in the form of the Gilman from The Creature from the Black Lagoon, pulls another kid's head off as Frankenstein, attacks a middle schooler by turning into flying leeches and sucking the fluid out of his eyeballs, one elementary age kid is murdered by his stepfather by being beat on the head with a hammer, and Pennywise frames the main bully by planting the panties of a little girl he murdered in the bully's bedroom.

I’ve always wondered how much Fukunaga really had in his adaptation before the fuss from parents of potential cast led to him dipping… it’s like - yall wanted to adapt the shit… :dunno: lol “yea like the fuckin tv series man… we don’t fuckin READ, Bro…”

**Sorry @playahaitian lol. I hadn’t read all your shit before replying on this one in particular

I heard about the Fukunaga drama but not that much. Was it the violence they objected to or the sexually explicit stuff? Stephen King did write some very explicit sex scenes involving kids in that book.

You hit the nail on the head with the last point. They saw dollar signs and wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to make bank with the franchise. We didn't need to see Jason possessing people, in Manhattan, or in space but that's what we got.

And it's crazy to think Freddy vs Jason is over 20 years old. I remember when Jurassic Park (1993) turned 20 and I was shocked because I saw that in movie as a kid but now it seems everything I've seen is over 20 years old. Getting old is crazy.

Good ol' days. That was the same year I saw Jurassic Park but I was 6. I still remember like it was yesterday. The late 90s was mybheyday though. Films like The Fifth Element, Independence Day, Spawn, and Blade just bring back great memories. Blade was the first R rated film I saw in the cinema too at age 11.

I wanna say it's cap but some people are sensitive to horror especially stuff involving demonic possession. People were passing out in the aisles when The Exorcist was released.

It piqued my interest so I'm going to look for it. Bring Her Back was bit of a disappointment so I need good scary film.
