Michael Johnson just lost. Again. Got choked out after whipping the CACs ass in the first round. I'll be damn

Usman is boring to watch. He got the job done though. Rather see Meek fight an opponent who is a striker. I thought Michael Johnson fought later. Oh well.

Johnson is dangerously close to being released by the UFC. I think when he was sitting there in the octagon after being submitted that's what he was thinking.....it's over. He always has a great start, but falters later in the fight.

Yeah - I wish he would pace himself better. Really good speed and power ... but opponents that can withstand that intense first round or two usually figure him out. Interesting to see the run that Elkins is on at the moment. Not a great athlete or fighter, but very tough and durable. Moving to train at Alpha Male was great for his career in recent years. Holdsworth, Castillo, Bucholz and others have really helped round out his game a fair bit. He'll never be an elite athlete, but you can't teach his type of heart. Fam' is wild. That reaction after the comeback on Bektic was crazy.

Definitely have to agree on Elkins. That dude is tough and durable as they come. I'm curious too where he will go from here. I think the UFC will give Johnson one more shot before they release him.

I'd like to see MJ move back up a weight class. Also, face some competition to build back his confidence. Winnable fights ... as he's been facing legit names for quite some time. As for Elkins ... he's a respectable gatekeeper for the division. He'll give anyone a tough fight, win or lose. I'm sure the UFC matchmakers are thinking they need to be careful putting their upstart, future rising stars versus someone like him ... as he can derail them.
