Coming back sometime early 2020 to fight at heavyweight!!

He has turned in his paperwork to get back in the drug testing pool.

Cant wait. Hope he can shed the extra weight he’s put on lol he look swollen lol there’s a lot of great fights to make at heavyweight. Jds, overeem, Francis and Derrick Lewis would all be great comeback opponents. Only name on that list that scares me for rumble is Francis. I think Francis puts rumble right back in retirement

did anthony johnson ever fight that guy milocec or whatever his name is,

the dude that just beat cormier..??

anthony mustve seen something in that fight and was like.. I gotta come back and get this money...

this will be his first time fighting at heavyweight, he doesn’t want any part of stipe. Wrestlfuck for two rounds and rumble will be begging to get out of there lol rumbles tank is non existent

He does have a chance since his power is insane but how will it transfer to heavyweight? And what kind of shape will he be in at the weight. He’s looking like a power lifter these days. Def not good for his already questionable cardio(not to mention his questionable heart)

Plus now with the extra muscle and weight...

He goes maybe a round b4 the tank is empty.
agreed, he was basically a two round fighter at lhw can’t imagine his tank improving at hw. Wish he had the discipline to get back to LHW and give us the potential of jones vs rumble like we always wanted to see, A lot less punishing of a division in route to the title as well.

Wow, don’t know how it’s gonna go, but Ngannou vs Rumble is a must though.
would love to see that, especially if they did it in Africa(since they’re opening up a performance institute and plan to do an event as well) I fear for rumbles life in that match but god damn would that be exciting.

Anthony Kewoa Johnson[4] (born March 6, 1984) is an American retired mixed martial artist who competed most recently in the light heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was well known for his brutal knockout power and intimidating presence inside the octagon. Before retiring, he was the No.1 ranked light heavyweight contender in official UFC rankings,[5] and was ranked #2 in the world by Sherdog and ESPN. He also had the most 'sub-minute' KO wins in UFC History with 5. He appeared in the 2011 film Warrior as a fighter named Orlando "Midnight".

I think he has a lot left and just needs to get his cardio up....
hope so, but cardio is something that you can work on to an extent in combat sports but some people(looking at you Connor) just don’t have deep reserves. He’s never been a cardio machine, not even at welterweight and he’s never been a scrappy fighter with a lot of heart. The second things don’t go his way he turtles up and tends to give up(see the Cormier fights) he’s got a pretty one track fight IQ. Still he’s one of my all time faves to watch and hope and pray that he does well in his comeback. Really interested to see how the extra weight(and USADA) effect him.

yea ufc needs exciting fighters like him.. waaaay too many boring fighters out there...

its fucked up but the no stamina guys make the most exciting fights.. its the technical dudes that could be kind of boring..

but the ufc needs a healthy anthony johnson..

and the whole doping thing is stupid when everyone is on it.. its fair game..

and they can easily focus on certain fighters and give other preferred fighters the heads up....

If he coming back looking like this he might as well stay retired.

Looks like he’s enhanced what he had enough of, and neglected what he needed.

I’d luv to see Rumble back, but not like this.

Carry on....,

theres def some fighters with insane cardio as well that out on a show, halloway, porier, tony Ferguson, Justin gaitchie(however you spell that white boys name lol) ru dillashaw(with the help of epo) aldo, Yoel Romero, adasanya, Whitaker ect there’s def a good amount of highly technical, hard hitting exciting fighters. Mostly in the FW(anything under the punch power drops and decisions rise) all the way through MW but there are those guys like McGregor(who to me is highly overrated and I dare anyone to argue otherwise lol) rumble, and guys like that with low gas tank high impact. It’s an exciting time to be a fight fan and with the ufc going international in the next few years it’s going to open up the talent pool like never before.

wow how could I forget two of my all time faves, nick and Nate are unreal when it comes to cardio and scrappiness.

the ufc is aggressively expanding into other markets over the next 7 years. Opening performance institutes in Africa, Puerto Rico, Mexico, China and a few other places that don’t come to mind right this second. We have cards coming up in the UAE, China this weekend, they’re working on getting an African card and several other new markets. According to Dana white Africa’s mma scene is exploding. They have a league of their own that aired on tv but not ufc till now. Think they just reached a deal in that regard. We’re going to get amazing talent from these.

yeah it’s still on. They just built a brand new center in Las Vegas that has a full working arena that they now film the contender series(been amazing this year) and the next ultimate fighter

Sorry for terrible spelling, bad grammar, run on sentences, improper punctuation. I’m a fight fan not a rocket surgeon lol
