C'mon, man, just accept the fact that you nor I could possibly know for sure. Therefore, considering circumstantial indicators is fair game on either side. But that consideration cannot be confused with stating facts.

ANd for those of you who blame steroids for this disease. There have been hundreds of thousand of steroid-abusers in America and diverticulosis is such a rare disease. Why haven't there been more cases? There is no connection. The only connection between steroids and this disease is with old people and AIDS patients who were given roids to build lean body muscle. You can't compare that to an athlete in his prime.

You're assuming he has the disease he says he has, in the first place. All we have is his word and Dana White's to go on. I can't imagine either of them would have reason to misrepresent this situation if there was some potentially damaging details involved.

But health is not the central issue. Fairness in competition is.

All of that information would be nice to know, but not necessary, for the casual observer. Either an athlete is using a banned substance or not. That is the lay man standard... and just so happens to be the standard of sports athletic commissions. Nevermind why or to what degree an athlete is using. They're either using or not.

We're not talking about "people" getting sick. We're talking about top tier professional athletes getting sick. And it is not altogether uncommon for such athletes to "use" PHD's and also suffer some medical complications (or physical manifestation) as a result.

In this case we weren't talking about fairness, this post was about Brock being sick and some people trying to blame steroids.

When it comes to addressing competition that is a whole different animal and I agree with you. Since only the idiots get caught Americans have no idea what is really going on in their sports. Sports have not been clean since the 60's. This isn't the steroid era, that began decades ago, this is the getting caught era.

Mir just wasn't used to carrying that weight. He was slow on his feet (and Carwin was slower). The old Mir would bounce in and out using his jab and legkicks.

I agree on that. 10 lbs is a lot of weight. But would he have been able to hold Carwin off when he got his hands on him if he didn't have the weight? With that 10lbs I bet he gained a lot of strength and still had problems trying to hold carwin off.

He didn't gain strength though. He gained GYM strength. That ain't functional strength.

I think Carwin was listed at 6'5", and he was shorter than Frank at 6'2".

And he is significantly smaller than Brock. Not that it isn't going to be an earth shaker, but oops on those made up stats
