UFC 248 Tonight 3/7/2020! Who You Got... Adesanya or Romero? Available Links Inside

Joanna should.just position herself as the money fight since she's the only one who does any promotion. Then these chicks gotta come to her, instead of the other way around. She's the main eventer. Weili may be able to get the Chinese audience , but she ain't gonna pull numbers here until her English is better. She does seems to have tbe swag to do it soon though. Rose is just a punk bitch lol

Gonna be interesting to see how things play out moving forward for Rose. She looked great in both Joanna fights, and was doing really well in the Andrade fight before getting nearly paralyzed (fortunately not). Looks like she's rematching Andrade as the co-main to the Tony-Khabib card on April 18th.

How much time off do you think Joanna and Weili will take after their great battle yesterday? Return in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2020, or early next year?

Good question. I have no clue. I want Joanna to be in a position where she can benefit more from the work she's put in. Weili too. They set the table and.Rose comes in and eats when shes "mentally ready". That's why I'm.glad she got dumped on her head lol. If Andrade can beat her again, Rose will voluntarily pull herself outta the picture.

I'm definitely glad Weili is there and if Rose can get past Andrade, then I'll be rooting for Weili against Rose. Joanna is putting too much wear and tear on herself.

True - especially later in her (Joanna's) career. She was dominant for quite awhile during her long title run, but took plenty of punishment versus Rose (twice), Valentina, and now Weili. The "easier" fights were her wins versus Tecia Torres & Michelle The MILF Waterson.

Rose's game plan looked good the first time around against Andrade. Good striking and movement. Unfortunately she couldn't deal with the power & force of Andrade. Hopefully her team/coaches are telling her ... as SOON as Andrade gets her hands on you, GET THE FUCK OUTTA THERE! Release! Let Go! Get Out! Don't lock up with her when you're wrestling, grappling, or getting scooped/lifted.

I'll tell you this.

ONE thing I was looking for in the JJ/Welie fight was, if Weili could KO JJ, or even dominate her, I thought maybe she'd be able to go up and challenge Valentina.

Now we know that is a strong NO. She ain't ready for that smoke, and I'm not even sure she's ready for Rose. I think even Angela Hill, at the level she is now, can give Zhang some problems. She's good, but not immortal.

Good point. Yeah - Valentina at 125 and Amanda Nunes at 135/145 are the elite of the sport on the women’s side. Happy to see Harrison (PFL) and Cyborg (Bellator) doing their thing too. It will be interesting to see how Zhang & JJ fare in their next few match-ups respectively. I’m sure it would be an easy sell to see a rematch. Like the guys on The Man and the Mith podcast said, you feel bad even suggesting it at the moment considering they just wrapped up kicking each others’ asses for 25 mins less than 24 hrs ago. Serious bad asses at 115lbs!

I'll definitely cosign a rematch. Let em heal up and as Dana says "let's see how this thing Plays out"

Rose and Adrade signed to bang again. Rose gotta go for the finish and not be a punk bitch. Then call out Zhang, if she wins. Wouldn't be bad to see Andrade go at Zhang again. They say she was bullshitting in the first fight. An argument can be made for a rematch. If Andrade beats rose, she can get that, OR get another shot at JJ.

I really do think Angela Hill can get in that conversation as well

Yes - I wouldn't mind a rematch of Zhang-JJ around November/December. Give them time to rest up and get a proper camp in.

Agreed re: Rose. Needs to look for the finish (TKO or sub) against Andrade. No point in risking going to a 25-minute decision. Too many chances to get caught.

Yes - great to see where Angela Hill is at in her career. She keeps a heavy work rate which is effective for her. Has noted she keeps tabs on her weight division and upcoming match-ups on cards (in case people fall out and a replacement is needed). Stays in shape. Hell ... she went 15 mins with Andrade a few years back in a striking battle and didn't embarass herself. Tough. I wish her well ... has the right competitive mindset & self-belief.

Watching that podcast and her notes on Andrade is what made me go back and look at her old fights. And she says she got her mind right now. I believe her. I wish she had a longer competition career like the others , but the sports fairly young. I think she may have something. At least to get her there, AND Like you said , she stays ready. That's a good look. Something can happen in ANY of those matchups that can put her there.

Indeed - she's taking her career very seriously and staying busy / active. Staying in shape, so she doesn't have to drastically get in shape (come fight time). It's been an interesting career run for her too. Coming off the Ultimate Fighter ... she had the immediate losses to Torres & Namajunas. That's not the end of the world - both of them are legit. Made her way over to Invicta - won the title there (and built her name / confidence back up) and has come back to the UFC in recent years with a renewed focus and intensity. Gotta love that. Plus she's getting up there in age at 33yo ... so it's wise of her to stay active during her competitive years. Show the matchmakers Sean Shelby & Mick Maynard that you're reliable and can be counted on. You and your manager are a phone call or text away ... and you get those match-ups (before others do). Props due.

Yup. I.was not a fan of her AT ALL, But I've always known of her. (Black girl in MMA). NOW, she's got my attention. That's the right mindset, and her skills.are up..33 is close to the end. It's go time for her. And you know how this sport goes. Shit changes QUICK.

2 years ago, Joanna was ONE fight away from cleaning out the division, against a girl who got choked out against the girl she won the title from. The girl was scared shitless of her and the fight was only a formality to us all. That girl was Rose.

Yeah ... it's a crazy sport. Still remember that night with the 3 title fights. Rose taking out Joanna in a few minutes. Dillashaw taking out Garbrandt. GSP submitting Bisping. Really good card in NYC. Like you said - shit changes quickly in MMA.

- Joanna styled on Andrade for 25 mins
- Rose beat Joanna twice
- Rose subbed the aforementioned Angela Hill
- Angela Hill went the full 15 mins with Andrade
- Torres beat Hill years ago
- Joanna beat Torres fairly handedly 2 years back or so
- Zhang KO'd Andrade in less than 45 seconds
- Zhang and Joanna just put on an early FOTY contender, and easily the best women's title fight (of all-time) ... competitive 25 mins

And if I remember right,Torres went THREE rounds with Weili, and even she gave her a few knocks. That was one of the factors that made me think JJ would outclass her.

Gotta give props to Weili for having her cardio together , even with those travel issues. She definitely took the 5th. I've never seen Joanna have to back down in the 5th. That hematoma had her retreating a little more than usual.

Yeah - believe Torres went the full 3 rounds with her. Torres and her fiancee R. Pennington are in an interesting predicament in the sport and their respective divisions. Good fighters, but not amongst the elite. Not quite sure if they would be classified as gatekeepers though, as the divisions aren't heavily populated like the men's divisions are by comparison. Not as many competitors.

Yeah - that was a rough month leading up to the event for Zhang. Having to go from China ... over to Thailand ... then Abu Dhabi (or was it Dubai?) and then Vegas. All because of the travel-related issues. That hematoma was something else for Joanna.Thought it might distract her more like the headbutt and cut did to Benavidez's forehead earlier this month in his main event loss.

.watching Ariel interview Valentina right now. She's laughing at Weilis manager saying they wanted a superfight BEFORE the fight. Now that she's seen it she's like "yeah she ain't ready. "

Gonna check out the interview later. Gotta love Valentina. Cold-blooded & extremely talented.
