Tyrone has SO much potential and just doesn't use it. He is a freak of nature and strong AF, but chooses to run.
Woodley also gasses a lot too. He's a,freak but cardio has been an issue for him. Pacing seems like something that he's still learning.
They will pay to see him lose as much as win. That's real shit bruh.
He reminds me of Rashad. After he got knocked out he started mAking the fight boring to win. TW doesn't need to learn that lesson. As the champ Dana has to get him fights. He keeps the fight his way he keeps winning. I'm with you on the fuck Dana in that regard .
He stays the champ and ties Jones and Silva for the record defenses
My thing is this: Woodley reflects what his oppenent brings to the fight. So its not his fault if dudes dont want to brawl with him. Thats smart. Dude has knock out power and is quick, seems to like to keep the fight stsnding up and gets shit on because he fights to win when guys dont want to risk striking with him.

Man the thing that tripped me out was it seemed he fought the smart fight had dude puffed up and eat a few left hands. I guess folks wanted him to get in a submission as fight outta that shit...
Damn I thought Comier looked good, had self control and when the chances were there he scored...if it wasn't for that knee I thought he'd was still behind but it was a great fight...but like I said this probably my 5th time watching a cage fight(other than highlights)
Big deal.... I guess if that's what drives him, then OK, but Woodley wants the money fights. Your record does not matter in UFC, it's your ability to fight in spectacular fashion or you better have a gimmick, or be from Canada or Ireland. It's just that simple. Tyron DOES NOT connect w/ the fans. He is blowing opportunities with his brooding attitude and safe fighting.
Plus, you mention Jones and Silva, they are exciting fighters and show their complete MMA skills in just about every fight. Woodley is a power puncher. He is not going to be submitting anyone anytime soon. So he stops a bunch of take downs, who cares! Do what got you there. That's what people want and that's what will get him the respect and adulation that he is craving.

Ive been indifferent about Woodley but I feel sorry for dude at this point. Same dudes saying he fights boring REALLY want to see Bisping v GSP? Or would have actually WANTED to watch MAIA v GSP? I mean, I would have, but those hating on Woodley's game won't enjoy those fights either imo.
Also had Maia won, you think he'd be getting this backlash? No way. It would be all about how smart he fights and how disciplined he is. When you fight its about winning.

- Whooping Lesnar's ass at heavyweight?
- A rematch with Gustaffson (they fought in the fall of 2013)?
- The long-awaited rematch with Matt Hamill that everyone has been anticipating? Just kidding.
- Can't do the trilogy with DC as he's up 2-0. Perhaps fighting his teammate Velasquez at heavyweight?
- Dropping 70lbs healthily and fighting Neck Tattoo Garbrandt for the 135lb title?
- Jones noted to the Fox Sports 1 post-fight show that there is still new blood at 205lbs (Volkan O', Manuwa), but other than that he's cleaned out the division ... and does want to get into some bigger, superfights (i.e. - Lesnar) that would pay him more all things considered ... especially after his limited pay in recent years with the time away from the sport

Agreed. To him it's all about that almighty dollar. So many times he's shown his true colors. Saying GSP would never fight again in recent memory ... and also trashing him when he said he wanted to take time away from the sport after the rough decision win over Hendricks in Nov. 2013. GSP ended up coming to the press conference bruised and battered ... after his boss had basically talked down his name. A champion who had been defending his title for years and put up big, consistent PPV buyrates for years (and held Canada on his back). Some of those Canadian attendances were 18,000, 20 or 21,000 and of course the 55,000 in Toronto vs. Shields. Trashing Woodley in recent years for the conservative fighting style in the 2 fights with Thompson, and the one with Maia. Of course Woodley is fighting smart ... guys like Thompson have highlight-reeled their opponents, and Maia has made quick work of others on the ground. Woodley stuffed him and had him at 0-20 (or more) with his missed takedowns. That's smart fighting, though not very fun to watch with the minimized danger. The shit that went down with Stitch Duran regarding the Reebok sponsorship and the cutman/cutmen losing out on their personal sponsorships as well. Ranting and raving about personal favorites he thinks will be the next big thing (he's been crushing on Cynthia Calvillo at women's 115lbs this past year like she's his next big star). The legal issues with Mark Hunt when he brought forth the issues of having faced people that have failed tests (Silva, Mir, Lesnar, Overeem) over time. The bullshit he tried to pull with Ariel Helwani at UFC 200 last July. Props to Ariel for putting him on blast and getting other media/journalists inside and outside of MMA on his side, and getting his press credentials back. I wonder how much faith he even puts in Brock Lesnar coming back ... knowing what a headache that was after last year and the failed test(s) he had. Also knowing that Conor's MMA future is uncertain post-Mayweather, and Rousey doesn't look like she's coming back. And if she ever did it's for an additional cash grab like her 48-second loss to Nunes (3 million - contract, and PPV points for some additional millions after the buyrate). She probably doesn't look forward to another 6 minutes with Holm, or an additional whooping from Nunes though. I liked when Nunes called them on that too ... noting that not much marketing was put into her, and she had won the title over Tate in July in 3 - 4 minutes. She got some $100k to show vs. Rousey in Dec. 2016 ... and Rousey (after fighting 13 months prior in a loss) came in as the golden girl making 30 times that (the aforementioned 3 million). Nunes dusted her in less than 1/5th of a round. Ice cold. GDamn.

UFC needs to use a sample of him saying that tag line at the end of fights. It would be cold blooded, but Joe's "Oh! He's hurt!" isn't complete without Goldie's calling it.
Man ... they definitely did Goldie dirty after 20 years with the organization. Sure ... he wasn't the best and sounded like a robotic soundbyte machine at times ... but his voice was synonominuswhalemus with the sport ... just like the broadcast booth was at Pride in Japan. People recognized him instantaneously. Now it's a revolving door of people - Anik, Stann, Rogan, Cormier, Cruz. Seems like Anik is Goldie's successor at this point ... and Stann/Cormier/Cruz are looking to replace Rogan when he eventually retires/moves on. He was smart to limit his schedule, as they had him travelling all over the damn place given how hectic their roster was these past few years. That can't be healthy at nearly-50 with other projects on the go (podcast, stand-up schedule, etc).

They are not and you know they are not. Dana and UFC fans want to see a knock out puncher throw punches! They don't want to see him run and stuff take downs and coast to a win just for the sake of winning.
Maia is not a power puncher like Woodley. Tyron is abandoning what got him to the top and what made him popular.
