An Ultimate Fighting Championship pay-per-view event is much more than just a night of fights. There's a host of activities going on around Vancouver this weekend that will give even those of us without a ticket a chance to meet our favourite fighters in the flesh.

Friday June 11:
2-3pm: UFC Fight Club Q&A at GM Place, with Chael Sonnen (members only)
3pm-5pm: UFC 115 weigh-ins at GM Place (free and open to the public)
5:30pm-7:30pm: UFC Undisputed 2010 tournament and Anchor Bay DVD release, with Chael Sonnen and Jon Fitch (no charge - tourney sign-up from 1pm)
6pm-8pm: Visions Electronics Port Coquitlam, appearance by Dan Hardy (no charge)
9pm-2am: American Fighter pre-party at Mint Nightclub, with Rich Franklin (tickets $20-$75)
Late: Official Tapout pre-fight party and fashion show at Gossip nightclub with Dan Hardy and the UFC Octagon girls (tickets from $45 to $500)

Putting it on twice a month with all the injuries is over-saturating the market. I say just once a month and hopefully bigger marque names. I could hardly call Lidell vs. Franklin a fight worthy of a main event (probably 3rd or 4th on the card), and the rest is downhill from threre. The co-main event Cro Cop vs. Barry should've opened the PPV, and the rest of the fights should've been on the prelims. Glad it's free.
