Serious but curious question about this lil Beef I heard a while back. What exactly caused the BEEF between MC Eiht and DJ Quik, besides the fact that they're Blood and Crip members. I know most likely it was over bullshit, but just curious of HOW their beef actually started ?

OK.

DJ Quik had an underground mixtape out before he was signed to Priority. On one song, he said something like "An AK for NWA in the top of the tree for CMW to see".

Quik is from Tree top Piru, MC. Eiht is from Tragneiw park (Weingart spelled backwards)

On CMW second album, Eiht had a song called "Def Wish" where he said "Bitting me quick means you get the duck sick quick" This song was recorded before Quiks debut album came out and wasn't aimed at Quik.

After that on each subsequent album, they would trade barbs back and forth.

Finally, they meet in the airport. They squash the beef, but Eiht never tells quick he has already recorded "Def Wish III" and the masters have already been turned in to Sony.

We come strapped drops, and Quik hears the diss. Thinking Eith was lying about squashing the beef. (Instead of just being a weenie about it) he then records the knockout punch "Dollars and Sense" which pretty much ends the beef. Eiht comes back with "Def Wish IV" but it's wack and quik is the winner.
