U Have $50 For The Week. How Would U Feed Yourself?

Large sack of brown rice $3 to 5
10 plantains for a dollar
2 1 lb bags of dried peas maybe pigeon and lentil or chickpeas $3
Garlic $ 1
2 lbs kale or collard greens $2
A few onions and peppers $3
Box almond milk $2
Box granola $4
Loaf good bread $4
1 lb good fish filets that are on sale $6 to 7
1 package bake tofu or tofurkey slices $3
1 large tomato $1
Salad greens $2.50
Dozen brown eggs $3 to 4

The above is more than enough for one week and I havent even come anywhere near $50 yet. Could add pasta and sauce, hummus, and maybe even a few fancy treats and some potatoes and we are now talking 2 weeks of food for still less than $50. Oh I forgot a celery for a buck and a bag of carrots for a buck. Can get a cucumber for a buck too. Is really not that difficult or expensive if you know how to shop and how to cook and take advantage of sales.

Not gonna post item prices because prices vary depending on where you live. But i do very well with no more than 70 per week.

I do it every week and I'm not broke.

work week tho

Same here. At times I might hit 60 or 70 for the week depending on the meal im trying to make.

Im only obligated to feed myself. Im young and extremely active; Out and about damn near every day. When Im working I dont have time to sit and eat 5 course meals at every sitting. I stay healthy and happy with one big meal per day and about 1-2 small meals. I have no problems working out (work out 4-5 days a weak. sometimes on empty stomach) and I maintain a weight of 190 at 6'. Im about 3 months away from being cut thee fuck up!

I eat a lot of raw foods and foods with minimal processing. The only meats that I eat are boiled eggs and fish. Fish being the most over priced food that I buy. So all those high priced red meats that folks type about dont apply to me.

The most expensive fruit/vegetable that I purchase is avocados. Almost being $1.50 each when at regular price. Some of the fruits and veggies that I buy are organic (Kale, broccoli, etc)..but some arent (cabbage, onion, garlic, etc). I only eat the fruits and veggies that are in season. I usually have to go to farmer markets to get the good fruits and veggies.

Some folks almost brag about "eating like a King"...and they list nothing but heart diseased foods when they brag. But keep in mind that not all people need to eat like a diabetes victim in order to stay healthy and happily full.

I dont gorge.....I eat what my body needs...with free days in between to eat bs junk foods that make me happy.
