Understood, but the beauty is there is a lane for both actors/directors like Tyler Perry and Ryan Coogler and Ava Duvernay to all co-exist in.
Let's be honest - there's room for all three of them (and many other black directors) to target their specific audiences and tell their stories.
As much as I dislike Madea, there are black people who identify with it and enjoy it...and, not just black people either.
Let that man make his money, and help other blacks get theirs too.
I'm not a TP fan and I don't care for what he produces and calls entertainment. But I don't knock him because he produces work for black entertainers that normally wouldn't get work. Even where he built his studio its in the heart of a black community. On top of that he donates to the community.
Not perfect but he does more than most who are praised and give nothing.
