They filed a grievance against Jerry Jones for his remarks on punishing those that don't stand for the anthem

https://www.dallasnews.com/business...lls-jerry-jones-stay-lane-amid-anthem-dispute

A local union has filed a charge against the Dallas Cowboys and the National Football League claiming that the organizations are violating players federal rights in the national anthem dispute.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reportedly threatened to bench players that opt to kneel when the anthem is played at the beginning of the games. “If we are disrespecting the flag then we won't play. Period,” he told the news media after Sunday’s game. “We're going to respect the flag.”

That’s a violation of the National Labor Relations Act of 1935, according to the Local 100 United Labor Unions, which represents workers in the southeastern states of Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.

On Tuesday, the group filed a charge with the Fort Worth office of the National Labor Relations Board, saying Jones’ public statements attempt to threaten, coerce and intimidate team members.

“The law is the law. And it’s against the law to threaten someone’s job,” said chief organizer, Wade Rathke. “Mr. Jones is way, way, way out of line here. And he needs to get back in his lane.”

Federal law protects the rights of employees who join together to raise work-related complaints, such as working conditions or pay.

The Fort Worth labor relations board will assign an agent to contact the Local 100 union and Cowboys management to investigate the charge. If there’s merit, it’ll issue a formal complaint and the trial can be brought before an administrative law judge if there's sufficient evidence.

But not even Rathke doesn’t think it will make it that far.

“People get so high and mighty and rich and think they can just do anything. But the law is here, so sorry,” he told The Dallas Morning News. "Frankly, we're hoping this is just a wake-up call,"

He said that Jones' public statements are a body of evidence that is hard to dispute.

"We were just very offended that someone could so brazenly attempt to take away workers rights and with impunity threaten jobs. That's just offensive to any American."

That's the thing missing on many people.

The reaction to Colin's protest about injustice turned into a labor issue.

If you support unions, you have to support Colin.

Bitch ass NFLPA though.
I've said this exact same thing from the jump. The nflpa should be LIVID at what's happening to Kaep but they are awkwardly silent.

They have to be by far and away the worst union in all of sport.

I think part of that is because they have no options. NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS...their players can bounce overseas if they want and make just as much money (if not more) there. Didn't somebody already offer LeBron $50 million USD to come play one season for them, and he said he SERIOUSLY considered it?

Players union ain't pussy they just trash. They can't do anything. They gave Goodell and owners all the power.....why? Because they wanted a quick fix. The players union benefits the owners more than the players. Take Jerrys ass to task.

I guess you didn’t see the last election results. Union supports the current president.

Honestly I think that's the only way a lot of this will die down.
True, but why bother when they know the black community won't come together, mobilize and do something about it if they don't.

The NFL feared the lgbt community because the know them fags would have been twisting and sashaying outside of every stadium with glitter bombed signs and rainbow flags had they not signed that fudge packer Michael Sam. They even went as far as to essentially bribe the Rams to draft him.

Jews and fags.... two communities you don't cross. Blacks.... damn us, because even on the important, LIFE THREATENING SHIT we can't agree on what to do and how to attack the issue

It will never die down but signing Kaep will take some heat off the owners and at least give them a chance to say "see!! We signed him!!!"
I honestly hope he is offered a job on a team and flat out refuses because of the BS they pulled/continue to pull.

He's a free man, and while players in the league are still shackled by BS contracts, league rules, ownership nonsense and superficial/material shit, he can do and say as he pleases.

As a fan and supporter of his, I don't even want to see Kaep lace up his cleats ever again.

He's bigger than a Quarterback.

there is a reason the nfl has the worst union.
it's members have no power

No guaranteed contracts
short careers
and they could be cut at any moment

in every other leagues ownership at least give lip service that the players are their partners. Not the NFL

there is a reason why all their disputes end up in court. Because they have no other recourse and the players are unwilling & unable to lose game checks.

Exactly and Ryan Clark told them fools not to sign off on that shit and they did it anyways. :smh:

Man I don't think at this point that would change anything. I think they done let this shit get out of hand....this was about police brutality but during this whole thing the NFL and the owners have been exposed to even more pieces of shit then we thought they were.

Because they not about shit....people shocked players letting these owners tell them what to do....I'm not. These muthafuckas wouldn't even fight for better contracts. NFL makes more and more money every year and these dudes can't even guaranteed contracts in the most violent sport in the world..

Told y'all it was only the beginning. A team might as well sign Kapernick the damage has already been done in a big way
just seen this on the dp show...signing kap- will settle most of whats going on down a bit but keep in mind we hav a petty ass white dude for
a president that keep fueling the situation..and now roger goodell say he wants to change a rule to force the players to stand mann look this
shit is getting ugly..plus you got the owners out trying to crack ther whip like there mr candy or summ shit,,its just ugly now....

I posted a video with Howard Bryant on ESPN a few months ago saying even if you don't agree with Kap,the NFLPA have to come together because this being an union issue. And,then said he doubt it will happen, because the NFLPA doesn't get come together for shit unless money is involve.

The NFLPA have allowed the owners to punk them everytime yet cry about a rule they don't like afterwards. The only player representative that saw through the owners bullshit was Ryan Clark yet they still signed their last CBA.

Like,I keep saying,if they allowed the owners to win on this issue, not only they're cowards I will not watch football ever again. How can you be the #1 sport in this country yet bend over backwards for the owners.

Say what you want about MLBPA but that union get shit done. The NFLPA,mind as well disband,if they let this shit slide...

Roland Martin made this point a few times, how come more black organizations haven't publicly supported the players, unless I missed something.

I know the CBC and BLM came out for the players support and that's about it.

More importantly, are more unions going to come out against this fuckery......

Just remember,Kap is disrespecting the veterans..

Another thing,I get annoyed with is when people say "Why he didn't kneel when he became the starter, why he's doing it now" and all this other bullshit.

You mean to tell me,you're the same person as you were 5,10,15 years ago.

This is my favorite quote from the GOAT

We've never agreed on how to attack issues ever
The problem is that we let not agreeing stop us from doing stuff

The non violent and the militants during the Civil rights movement dfignt agree fundamentally on how to get civil rights
Bit
They both said you do it your way we do it ours and we meet at our goal

That needs to be our plan of attack and honestly it's the best one because you can't cover all basis

There's SEVERAL prominent Democrats whom BGOL loves unconditionally who have been QUIET on this issue. ..
But I seen them same Dems commenting on every thing else however...

Hilary's titty sucker was in another thread on that bullshit yesterday......

When,he got elected the first time, reports were saying he wasn't about that bullshit and etc..And,the Roger Goodell is going to have a hard time with him, since he was a lawyer...It seems to me that the union got weaker under his leadership.

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

That's why I said,unless I missed something at the end because I wasn't sure.

The irony is that it is also a monetary issue because the military has a deal with the NFL about the anthem. It is fake patriotism.
