TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

Just started watching this. One of the lesser discussed assassinations of James Garfield. I can't see Matthew MacFayden as no one else but Tom from Succession. Especially when he's not speaking in his own British accent.

OH yeah...ZOD (Michael Shannon) plays Garfield...lol

He is probably more recognized as Mr Darcy from pride and prejudice.

Its based on a book written in 2019 and stars Shaliene Woodley, Betty Gilpin, DeWanda Wise, Blair underwood etc. I heard Blair underwood mention it in an interview last year

Shaliene Woodley is an author who's under pressure from her publisher to scrap her current work and write a completely new book, she gets counseling from an old school writer to go on the road and "fuck married men" live life and and write about her experiences in the mould of kerouac, hemingway, Hunter S Thompson etc...she buys a van and drives cross country looking for people to interview about their sex lives and becomes enamored with three women:

Betty Gilpins character is a Midwest housewife in a loveless marriage whos beaten down and insulted by her husband....the other white chick is a North Dakota waitress who was taken advantage of by her High school teacher when she was in high school and is just realizing it....Dewanda Wises character is a Coastal elite and a successful event planner in Cape Cod (or Martha's Vineyard) with a superstar chef husband played by Blair Underwood...they love eachother but they also love to fuck other people...Blair underwood is on some Voyeur shit watching her with other men....I get the feeling that she might be a sex addict and hes just doing anything to try to keep their family together and make her happy

There's a LOT of sex and nudity...basically soft porn but a Great cast, good acting, type of show that would be better to watch with your woman..Wife and I really interested to see what's gonna happen with them

Time flies ... I remember watching the movie as a DVD rental from Blockbuster or Rogers Video back in the day. That was 20 years ago!

V for Vendetta is a 2005 dystopian thriller film directed by James McTeigue in his directorial debut, from a screenplay by the Wachowskis.[a] It is based on the 1988–89 DC Vertigo Comics limited series graphic novel by Alan Moore, David Lloyd, and Tony Weare. The film, set in a future where a fascist totalitarian regime has subjugated the UK, centres on V (portrayed by Hugo Weaving), an anarchist and masked freedom fighter who attempts to ignite a revolution through elaborate terrorist acts, and Evey Hammond (portrayed by Natalie Portman), a young woman caught up in V's mission. Stephen Rea portrays a detective leading a desperate quest to stop V.

Produced by Silver Pictures, Virtual Studios and Anarchos Productions, Inc., V for Vendetta was originally scheduled for release by Warner Bros. Pictures on 4 November 2005 (a day before the 400th Guy Fawkes Night), but was delayed; it instead opened in the United States on 17 March 2006, to mostly positive reviews from critics and became a box office success, grossing $134.7 million against a production budget between $50–54 million. Alan Moore, dissatisfied with the film adaptations of his other works, From Hell (2001) and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003), declined to watch the film and asked to not be credited or paid royalties.

Some political groups have seen V for Vendetta as an allegory of oppression by government; anarchists have used it to promote their beliefs. The film is credited for popularizing the use of the Guy Fawkes mask by anti-establishment political groups and activities.

Agreed.

He's great on the series. We're almost finished season 5, God.

Gonna check out some more Task and Slow Horses, and Bosch with pops.

The finale for Task, and the penultimate for Slow Horses.

We've got 4 eps left in season 5 of Bosch. Hope to finish off the original series sometime in December, and then start up with Bosch: Legacy and Ballard.
You hit season 6 yet?

With this show, it's the small things. Hell, I almost missed it.

At a murder scene, Bosch wants to poke a dead body, so he asks for Jamie Hector's pen. After poking the dead body he tries to hand the pen back to Hector who waves them off (I don't want that shit back )

Either the following episode or two episodes later, he shows up and hands Jamie Hector a brand new pen.

It took me a second to put it together, but that's what this show does. Even though many, if not most of the fans will miss it, that small continuity is important to them because that's the kind of shit that happens in real life.

If I asked you for something to poke at a dead deer we hit and you scoff when I try to hand it back to you, you best believe I'd be expecting you to buy me a brand new pen that you asked for

Good shit

Very good point re: the pen. Yes, I noticed that too.

Watched season 6, episode 7 and gonna finish off the season next week with pops once we each see a few more eps.

I also laughed when Bosch said to Edgar in the office that it appeared he was spending a fair bit of time with the woman he was seeing. Edgar asked him if he was going home for a night in like a monk, lol. Bosch noted spending time with Thelonius Monk.

I have been enjoying s6 more than s5, as season 5 had too many scenes with Bosch away from the others per the plot / storyline.

This looks good

He's had a good career with an assortment of TV & movies, after his big break in the Baywatch: Hawaii series which started over 25 years ago.

I've been meaning to watch Chief of War at some point. I enjoyed what I saw from the show after catching part of the pilot a few months back.

Chief of War is a Hawaiian historical drama series created by Thomas Paʻa Sibbett and Jason Momoa for Apple TV+. Momoa also stars in and executive produces the series, which premiered on August 1, 2025.

Premise

Based on true events, the story begins at the end of the 18th century when the four major kingdoms of the Hawaiian Islands were in a state of war: Hawaiʻi, Maui, Oʻahu, and Kauaʻi. The series follows Kaʻiana, a warrior chief (aliʻi) of Kauaʻi who travels outside the islands, returns home, and joins a bloody campaign until, at the last minute, he rebels against the unification of Hawaiʻi that took place from 1782 to 1810 under Kamehameha I.[1]
