The Responder is really well acted. Short seasons too - only about 5 episodes each.
The Curse is a crazy ride. One of those shows with many WTF moments as it plays out. I appreciated the way it was shot too. Often lingering in the awkward and uncomfortable. Emma Stone is great.
Vigil has a good assortment of characters each season. Nice tension throughout. A friend of mine recently watched the 1st season and said thanks for the recommendation & plans on starting the 2nd season soon. He's about 3/4 the way through The Day of the Jackal, and gonna finish that first.

If you're a fan of Martin Freeman ... keep an eye on the amount of facial / reactionary acting he does in The Responder. There's alot of it, and he's very good at it. Especially in a role wherein he's experiencing frustration and burnout.
The Curse is one of those series wherein you'll probably ask - "Where are they going with this?" aloud. Some scenes work better than others. But it definitely flew under the radar on Showtime.
With Vigil ... you might not recognize alot of the actors by name, but may know their faces from other overseas projects. My friend was saying - "I knew her from this, and that guy from this ...", etc.

This is a new limited series that just debuted on Netflix. I watched it this evening with my sons at home.
The series is based around the infamous 1857 Utah Massacre that was committed by the Mormons.
I wasn’t expecting much, but this series highly surprised me. If you are familiar with Taylor Sheridan’s “1883”, this series is similar but amped up more. This series is what Kevin Costner tried to do with “Horizon”.
The series doesn’t hold back on how hard life was back in the Utah territory in the 1850s. There is hardcore graphic violence throughout and scene of rape (nothing graphic). Lots of fight sequences are shown. The series does not hold back showing how violent Whites, Mormons and Native Americans were against each other.
Casting is top notch with the main characters. Cinematography looks great showing how dark and dire life was like. Every character looks dirty, rough and nasty. Indianapolis Colts owner, Jim Irsay has a small, speaking cameo in Episode 1.
The series is written by the same person who wrote the “The Revenant” starring Leonardo DeCaprio. It has the same vibe as the film. As of now, Netflix has this listed as a limited series with no plans to continue it. The producers have expressed interest on continuing it as an anthology series.

Finished it yesterday. Pretty good overall. Easy watch to get through. 8 eps at 29 - 35 minutes each. It's an amusing show and deliberately NOT laugh out loud funny. There are a few moments I played back though and got a real laugh out of.
From what I gather it was primarily filmed in Seattle and Vancouver, as I recognized some shooting locations. Especially so for Vancouver in the finale with English Bay, Yaletown, and downtown.
I mentioned it to my mom as I might save the series for her, and noted it was based on an Aussie original. She just texted me to say the Aussie version is available on TUBI currently for those who check out this U.S. version and want to circle back to the first version of it.
