Larry David Is ‘Thinking About’ Revisiting Curb

Ever since Curb Your Enthusiasm ended its eighth season on HBO in 2011, it's become constant cocktail and blog fodder to speculate whether the critically lauded Larry David comedy would return for a ninth season. As each year passed, hope began to dwindle — David's a pretty busy guy, after all — but about a month ago, a phone call between J.B. Smoove and David might've served as a major game changer for the show's future. "I call Larry every two weeks, because he's old, he's a busy man, so I always check on older people," Smoove, who plays Leon Black on the show, saidwhile appearing on The Rich Eisen Show earlier this week. "I just talk about regular stuff with him, it's not always Curb stuff. But this time, aha! He brings up Curb Your Enthusiasm; I don't ever bring it up."

The conversation that ensued was extremely optimistic for Curbenthusiasts. "He starts off with his little, 'Ehhhhh, you know, I'm thinking about coming back.' But see, that's great because he has not said no, which puts us in a great position for possibilities ... that means it's still going," Smoove continued. "If Larry does not say no, there's a possibility he may say yes. And then he went extra. He said, 'If I do come back, would you be available?' I said, 'You know something Larry, I'll be available. Just call me, give me early notice, and I'll be there.' I'll move anything to the side for Curb Your Enthusiasm, which would be a fabulous thing to do. Season nine would be fabulous." Yes, it most certainly would, J.B.

Larry hooks up with this Black prostitute so he can drive in the diamond lane to get to meeting, but discovers that he has to make a pit stop at his dad's house. He couldn't leave her in the car and was worried about what his dad would think. She hits it off with him spectacularly and winds smoking a joint the pops. LMAO!

i knew he wasn't doing any more seasons at the time. prior to the last season, the previous seasons, after the the end of each one , he would say this is probably it. no more seasons. with the last season, he was quick to say, " we're doing another season." shit, the seasons before the introduction of the blacks, larry was ready to end the show, the last episode for the season was titled " the end". before he really thought that was the end of the show.

I wonder what he's busy with besides Bernie Sanders impressions on SNL.

Either way, I hope they do it. That show is legendary.

That show was the best. He'd catch so much shit with today's Internet sensitivity mob. That story with the sewing machine kid had me dying. The ep with the vibrating car seat. The ep with his friend rubbing one out in Larry's home. The 'big vagina' ep. Damn. So many classics that had me like :roflmao3: :roflmao2: His friend's wife was hilarious.

Leon: "...I f**k Larry up, and keep on rolling."
Larry: "What?"
Leon: "Somebody gotta get f**ked up Larry, right?"
Larry: "You don't need to... What are you saying, f**k me up?"
Leon: "You tackle me, I ain't gonna look like a f**kin' bitch and s**t and let you f**k me up."
Larry: "No! I tackle you and you run away. You run away..."
Leon: "The more f**ked up you are, more of a hero your gonna look like, man. I'ma break your f**king teeth, your glasses or something."

Thank you Larry.

You have full permission to stop and chat, and even chat and cut, about this fantastic news. Curb Your Enthusiasm will officially be returning to HBO for a ninth season, as announced today by Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming. "We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curband can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said Bloys, before addressing David's decision to return: "In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, 'I left, I did nothing, I returned.'" Details of the new season are still scarce, and will be announced as they are confirmed.

Good news, I love that show. Still watch old episodes to this day.
Never watched Seinfeld, but this show is funny as fuck.
Can't wait.

"open that asshole one mo time.. open it, open it again.... UGHHHHHHH! Step out his ass *STOMP* and leave that muthafucka WIDE OPEN, so he know you been there... feel me?"

:roflmao:
one of the best improv scenes EVER

:itsawrap:

That's the beauty of the show, most of it is improvised and lines are made up on the fly.
Im the opposite. Never got the big deal with Seinfeld, but I love Curbed, Seen every season multiple times.
Same here.

wow you NEVER watched Seinfeld?

Did you like the episodes when they showed up on Curb?

Yep, never watched a full episode of Seinfeld in my life.
I've watched a couple of scenes and never found them particularly funny.
The episodes where they showed up on 'Curb' were still funny, but I just never got what the big deal about Seinfeld was.
I like that 'Curb' is uncensored, unlike Seinfeld.
