It's like when white friends of mine tried to say they're "blacker" than me because they have a nice tan, or because they've gotten pulled over in their cars more times than I have. None of that type of stuff makes them more connected or relatable to me, and it's insulting to imply that I will find them (or Trump) somehow more appealing because they happened to get arrested for breaking the law.
