Trump’s communications with foreign leader are part of whistleblower complaint

The only question is why you continue to downplay the coup of government from republicans.

Constitutional lawyer explains how whistleblower complaint puts Trump ‘gross abuse of power’ on display: ‘Gonna be ugly’

Now we have the DOJ acting as a shield for Trump.

His people are in place and his judges. Trump is above the law.
If this a coup, what they pull under Bush in the 2000s? I remember the same constitutional talk about Bush. Same impeachment talk. What happened?

Folks acting like they now 25-years-old and were in middle school during the Bush years. The same type of articles and commentary happened under Bush but people died back then. So I'm not downplaying shit, I'm just comparing two corrupt republicans.

And not for nothing, the huffpost? Come on man. I don't do extreme websites for either fucking side. They are for entertainment purposes only.

Bush was a military ATM that’s why they didn’t push back so hard until the economy Went South

Nothing will happen....

Shit gone get shut down by DOJ

Cacs have been preparing for this day since Nixon. Literally. Fox News exists because they thought Nixon would have survived if there was an alternative to the Times/Post and regular network news. As long as Trump has Fox, Breitbart, redstate and the literally dozens of other conservative media outlets he can do whatever the fuck he wants and not be held accountable.

just saw this on FB

It's Dan Coates. It has to be. Two weeks after he resigned he walked into a meeting at the White House and told his deputy she needed to resign immediately and she did. Four days after that the Inspector General got the whistleblower report!

In addition to this we know the unnamed whistleblower has retained an attorney who was a career lawyer at the CIA and is now in private practice. This lends even more credence to it being Coates.

If he told the president of Ukraine that the $250 million in military aid is dependent on them investigating Biden, holy shit!

In an interesting turn of events, Rudy Giuliani said on CNN tonight that if Trump did do that, it wasn't illegal! Umm, yes it is Rudy. Offering a foreign nation money to do damage to your political enemies is downright corruption not seen since Sadaam and Idi Amin were around.

This is tin pot dictator politicking and if this is true, Trump will have to resign. Trump is easy to predict because he is a simpleton and he only operates transactionally. My learned guess here is that Trump promised to deliver the military goods if the President of Ukraine opened an investigation of Biden. I would bet a shiny new platinum dollar that this is what Trump did.

Watch Republicans the next few days. They are deathly quiet and today Mitch even approved $250 million in election security funds. That says that not only was he sick of being called Moscow Mitch, it also says he's nervous about something.

This is not going to end well for Trump. Make no mistake, the Inspector General is a Trump appointee and whoever the whistleblower is, worked inside this administration. This isn't the 'deep state.' This is one of Trump's own people and the IG agreed that this was a matter that needed to go to congress.

Bill Barr and Maguire are now breaking the law in full view of the people. The highest law enforcement official and the highest national security official in this country are crooks. They are felons thumbing their noses at the rule of law right now. Without the rule of law, we aren't a Republic, we are subjects of a dictator.

**Update**

I am going to say something now that I hope everyone understands the gravitas of. *After* Adam Schiff sent his letter to the DNI to release the Whistleblower complaint, Trump released the $250 million to the Ukraine the next day.

The. Next. Day.

The *ONLY* thing that makes sense given this fact is that Trump withheld that money in order to make the Ukrainian president investigate Biden as Rudy Giuliani said tonight on CNN was the biggest scandal ever.

Once someone explained that this was illegal as fuck, Trump released the funds in order to make it look as though he did not cajole the president of the Ukraine into investigating Biden and his son.

Donald Trump was using the money of the American people to force a foreign government to start and investigation of his political opponent.

That is why they are so desperate to conceal that whistleblower report.

My god, this is unbelievable. He must be removed from office. If this is true, Trump will not be running for president. He will be running to Russia to avoid dying in prison.

McConnell changes position and backs $250 million for election security

Democrats said the Senate majority leader had finally caved into their pressure to safeguard the voting system.

WASHINGTON — In a surprise development, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced his support on Thursday for additional money to bolster the country's election system ahead of the 2020 vote, a move that counters his earlier position resisting calls for more funding.

McConnell, R-Ky., said he is co-sponsoring an amendment to an appropriations bill that would provide $250 million for election security.

"I'm proud the Financial Services & General Government bill will include a bipartisan amendment providing another $250 million for the administration and security of their elections, to help states improve their defenses and shore up their voting systems," McConnell said. "I am proud to have helped develop this amendment and to co-sponsor it in committee."

McConnell's backing comes after Democrats have been putting political pressure on him and Republicans for more than a year to get behind additional provisions, including new funding, to protect against hacking and interference in the elections.

"This morning, after months and months and months of Republican resistance, and months of insistent Democratic pressure, Senate Republicans have finally agreed to support our Democratic request for additional election security funding in advance of the 2020 elections," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said on the Senate floor.

Democrats brought up a similar measure last year that would have also provided an additional $250 million to the states, but McConnell and most Republicans opposed it. A senior Republican leadership aide said the measure was brought up when states still had not determined how they'd spend the $380 million they were given in 2018.

In July, Democrats attempted again to bring election security legislation to the floor. McConnell's opposition to the measure that would have made broad changes to the election system led in part to critics giving him the moniker of "Moscow Mitch."

Republicans pointed to an election briefing by intelligence officials in July as reason that more money wasn't necessary.

"All the money hadn't been spent that we gave to the states," Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told NBC News at the time, referring to funds granted to the states ahead of the 2018 elections.

Now that McConnell is backing the funding, Democrats and election security experts say that $250 million is a good start but not enough.

Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which wrote a report on the security vulnerabilities in the 2016 election, said that $250 million is "necessary but not sufficient part of securing our elections against foreign attack."

Aaron Scherb, director of legislative affairs at Common Cause, said that far more is needed to secure the election system.

"Providing $250 million in additional election security funding is like asking an army to go fight a war with horses and bayonets," Scherb said.

Yep people this is a game changer for turtle to change his mind on the day the story truly broke tells you all you need to know

It seems like the White house read out of the phone call … and the Ukrainian read out of the call differed just a liiiiittle …. this line was NOT in the white house version :

(CNN) "The president is convinced Ukraine can improve it's image by complete investigation of corruption cases, which inhibited the interaction between Ukraine and the U.S.A."

If this turns out to be what the whistleblower complaint is about & it’s accurate, Trump must leave office immediately. A president can’t offer US aid to a foreign country in exchange for prosecution of a political opponent

Trump Repeatedly Pressed Ukraine President to Investigate Biden’s Son
Interactions under focus amid whistleblower complaint on U.S. president’s dealings with a world leader

President Trump in a July phone call repeatedly pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden ’s son, urging Volodymyr Zelensky about eight times to work with Rudy Giuliani, his personal lawyer, on a probe, according to people familiar with the matter.

“He told him that he should work with [Mr. Giuliani] on Biden, and that people in Washington wanted to know” whether allegations were true or not, one of the people said. Mr. Trump didn’t mention a provision of foreign aid to Ukraine on the call, said this person, who didn’t believe Mr. Trump offered the Ukrainian president any quid-pro-quo for his cooperation on any investigation.

Mr. Giuliani in June and August met with top Ukrainian officials about the prospect of an investigation, he said in an interview. The Trump lawyer has suggested Mr. Biden as vice president worked to shield from investigation a Ukrainian gas company with ties to his son, Hunter Biden. A Ukrainian official earlier this year said he had no evidence of wrongdoing by Mr. Biden or his son.

After the July call between the two presidents, the Ukrainian government said Mr. Trump had congratulated the new president on his election and expressed hope that his government would push ahead with investigations and corruption probes that had stymied relations between the two countries.

The White House declined to comment. The Biden campaign didn’t respond to a request for comment. Last week, a Biden campaign spokesman said of Mr. Giuliani’s efforts to pressure Ukraine: “This is beneath us as Americans.”

Mr. Trump on Friday defended his July call with Mr. Zelensky as “totally appropriate” but declined to say whether he had asked the Ukrainian leader to investigate Mr. Biden, a former U.S. vice president. “It doesn’t matter what I discussed,” he said.

At the same time, he reiterated his call for an investigation into Mr. Biden’s effort as vice president to oust Ukraine’s prosecutor general. “Somebody ought to look into that," he told reporters.

In recent months, Mr. Giuliani has mounted an extensive effort to pressure Ukraine to do so. He told The Wall Street Journal he met with an official from the Ukrainian prosecutor general’s office in June in Paris, and met with Andriy Yermak, a top aide to Mr. Zelensky in Madrid in August. Mr. Giuliani told the Journal earlier this month that Mr. Yermak assured him the Ukrainian government would “get to the bottom” of the Biden matter.

The August meeting came weeks before the Trump administration began reviewing the status of $250 million in foreign aid to Ukraine, which the administration released earlier this month. Mr. Giuliani said he wasn’t aware of the issue with the funds to Ukraine at the time of the meeting.
