if you're a short term holder(<1yr) you will pay your normal tax rate on any capital gains, so lower your bracket the better. Typically 15-38% if you hold long term you pay a much lower rate not sure the exact rate now think it's about 15%....
NEVER worry about taxes,,NEVER,,,you go to work & they jack your tax as soon as you get a check, you hussle the market & you gains are yours till Apr the next yr & then you offset w/ some losses & you MAKE it golden,

Thanks for the inspirational post...very well put in regards to the taxes. I am currently considering my losses for the year a tax writeoff until I can catch back up wit some moderate gains hahahaha. So far so good, I'm fighting my way back in the game by learning the pattern of coin and coinz. I may have gotten in on the right side this time. Good move? I know everybody likes PAL in the long run, but any chance it could break $10 in the near future?
Another question, how are most of you finding new stocks? Are you sorting them by technical filters, checking for big gainers or trying to find back door stocks according to news and speculation?

Peace Future, I hold PAL also great pick I picked up from the thread. I went over it long and hard. A lil to long though where it ran from under $4 to 9 where I bought. As you can see im down a bit but no fear. Im confident in my investment. I dont think Im qualified to say what it will hit this year but if I thought it was a good buy at 9 I know it is now. Roscoep I was in that situation when I owned share in Toys "R" Us. When they were boughtout my shares were taken and the buyout price was automatically deposited into my account.

PAL is a pick that I dropped here around 3.75, it ran to 9.25 in the same run when Palladium moved from 400 to 580/oz...We're looking for about 10-12 on it this year, but much will depend on SOuth Africa..already we see constant reduced production out of the region

2k is a good start, started a project of my own, seeing how far I could take 1 single k, 2 weeks thus far, its $2.1k, but I exited alot of positions too soon, could have been ~4k,...
As for T-bills...hell no!! not for me, if i want to make 5%, i make it in 1 day..I'm not waiting un uncle sam.. I think most of the AGs have been mentioned, not any new ones...

Anybody familiar with CAJ.V? Its the Vancouver divison of Canasia Industries Co. They are awaiting approval on a permit to begin coal mining in the same region that GoldSource GSX.V found coal intercepts back in April. GSX.V was trading at .35 on April 22nd and now they are at 13.75 after coming down from a high of 19.15.
CAJ.V also has interests in potash and copper, could be a good time to get in and see if it blows up. Right now CAJ.V is at .40. They've already jumped up from .25 after news came that they applied for a permit in early May. If they receive approval on their permit, and find coal themselves, they could see a jump similiar to GSX.V did.

I did the same "risky business" today on PCX buying 150Calls at about 11pm for .90 & wattching it move higher & lower & higher until I said enough & bailed at market @ 1.05, it had a high top of about 1.30 on that run, but i saw weakness in the coals & was fully aware if by 2pm you're not ON the Money on a call, on expiry its a bust.. HK struggled today as did CHK as they just never seemed to hold their gains,,,thank the dow for that..very few things green out there (MEE,JRCC,APWR). Hope you didn't play HK too heavy there .05/.10 best b/a for most of the day w/ limited spikes..

start on monday when the monthe refreshed,,,expiry week is insane,,i hate it & love it..you can make tons but you got to be so broad knowledged to see plenty plays in front of you & you have to know the players..experience makes it easier, but you can't play them all....JRCC is the king of coals in terms of powerful moves...60 close today...& put my Jul 60's ON the money,, give me a 30% stock run & let my calls go to $25...

I'm not sure what to make of it all,...GXS seems to be the leader & then the others seem to be leeching & trying to get on....i'll monitor it, but with coal flying off the meters, they might all still return well even after those runs, 4/14 GXS was .19c now $15.30...+7952% damn,,& thats after it's fallen from $19+,....man,,,i'm happy usually w/ 10%-40% lol
I had dropped a stock here a while back in the same region Potash One (KCL.v/KCLOF.pk) it was about $3.50, now $5.00, the TSX seems to me like a hotbed for high flying stocks, certainly can't knock the returns though
