trial thread: G6 celtics v. fakers

not for nothing, i'd just like to point out that tobe leads the fakers in +/- this evening, with a MINUS 34 (-34)

i've been overwhelmed watching this fierce competitor will his team to a 38 point NBA finals loss. i must admit i've never seen anything close to this level of brilliance.

he put his team on his shoulders and carried them with his fantastic 32% shooting while he held superstar rajan rondo to only 40% shooting.

amazing.

where is that dude who told me that his uncle who won championships taught him basketball? i want to thank him for sharing his knowledge.

Here's Gino.

I told you Celtics in 6. It should have been in 4. Boston Stand Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

congratulations to the boston celtics, and my apologies to coach rivers. i was WRONG in saying that i didn't think he could coach his team to the NBA championship, and i am HAPPY to admit my mistake.

congratulations to paul pierce too, who won NBA finals MVP.

let's put another BULLSHIT myth to bed tonight too.

"the WORSTern conference is better than the eastern conference."

is that why the east's team with the 8th best record was able to go 7 games with the celtics?

is that why the east's team with the 4th best record was able to go 7 games with the celtics?

but somehow the west's team with the #1 record could only manage 6 games?

I'm late here, but I had to comment on this post...

A couple of weeks ago, I argued with one of my best friends about how the Western Conference over the years isn't as good as many make them out to be...I pointed out one year where the Sixers won the conference and he said that the Eastern Conference was bad back then...I said not even close.

Even now, that makes three different teams from the conference to win a NBA Title, while the Western Conference has only had the Lakers and Spurs win a title since....98?

I want to once again congratulate ME for being right..

My muffins with the equal amount of blueberries will be much sweeter in the morning..

ray allen for finals MVP!

This is the only thing I was disappointed about from tonight's game. Allen and Pierce were both deserving but I thought Allen came to play every game, and should have won it.

 hate I was not at home to participate in this thread but wow.

Just when I thought Wobe couldn't sink any lower, I never would have expected this.

At least the lakers didn't quit this time.

lamar odom nba finals: 53% FGAs

pau gasol nba finals: 52% FGAs

tobe nba finals: 40% FGAs

let the scapegoating begin!

tobe is such a warrior.

0-4 FGAs Q2

0-3 FGAs Q4

clutch, man, clutch.

all from distance in those quarters too. such excellent shot selection for a mature veteran.

Was gonna ask what happened, but I guess that just about sums it up. Except it doesn't explain why he took so few FG attempts, as opposed to him taking the lions' share of shots game in and game out

ah, but he did take the lion's share.

4-7 FGAs in Q1 and 3-8 FGAs in Q3.

i only posted Q2 and Q4 to highlight how ineffectual he was. strange performance for the G.O.A.T.

incidentally, the fakers STILL lost Q1 and Q3 with tobe hoisting bricks, so we can throw that kind of reasoning out the window right now.

Sorry for the double post, but:

Jon Barry said:
Kobe Bryant was outplayed on both sides of the court. If he says otherwise, he's lying.

:roflmao2:

7 FGA tells me that they lost that game right after the 1st quarter...

So he finishes 3-15 for the rest of the game...:smh:

This is the NBA MVP? Come on. Chris Paul got robbed...

At least Odom looked at times to be bustin his ass on the floor...8 FGAs but 16 FTAs...he tried to get to the line...

Once again, though...Where were the Lakers' backcourt in this series?

i have a question for anyone who watched (pookie, you there?) tonight's game.

who got double teamed more, pau gasol or tobe?

answer honestly.

:smh: After Wobe's interview, David Aldridge declared that the lakers weren't competitive because Wobe just didn't any help.

Looks like Kupchak is going to have to find a way to get the lakers the Western Conference All Star starters for next season. Maybe then, will Wobe have sufficient help to get over the hump

I hate that bitch...He was the #1 Jordan dickrider in the 90s... :smh: There is other players on the team David...

...old fake Alfonso Ribiero lookin ass nigga...

david aldridge is just another tobe stan who's salty because he wasted his MVP vote on tobe. now he looks like a dumb ass with the rest of the twinks, and he has to make excuses to save face.

tobe going 3-15 FGAs down the stretch of a close-out game is the sign of a true franchise player, right?
