Yes!!!

Lock it in a case unloaded and do the speed limit or go with the flow of traffic. If you have time and skill, disassemble it and lock the lower and trigger group separately - technically it's not a gun at that point. Otherwise ship it.

why not contact the police in the areas you are passing thru?
there might be forms to fill out and carry with you.

please use google because traveling your weapon in your car in most states is not illegal

THERE IS NO REGISTER HANDGUN LAW IN GA or FL

answer i found

You may travel state to state with firearms under the Firearm Owners Protection Act (FOPA) of 1986. This allows you to transport firearms across state lines provided:
1. the weapons are transported unloaded;
2. the weapons are legal to possess in the state of origin, and in the state of destination;
3. the weapons are stored in an area of the vehicle that is not accessible to the passenger compartment (i.e., trunk);
4. if you make any non-emergency stops in any state (such as spending the night), that state's laws will apply to you.

Your Mom can go to the local gun store or any place with a legal FFL license where she lives and do a private party transfer and have the gun shipped to your local gun store in Florida where you can pick it up LEGALLY WITH NO WORRIES OR HEADACHES
the end!!!!

Check out this site. It is for gun laws for bonafide travelers. I just to carrybmine when I traveled around the US for my job. The SE us is a bit lax on their carry laws but you have to know you rights.

Make sure you have the paperwork showing moms has transferred ownership to you. Get it notarized.

Laws vary...some states it has to be locked in a case unloaded...others loaded in plain sight ...others loaded and concealed in vehicle...it really varies. Google gun carry laws in GA and FL. I had a book with the laws for each state but cant seem to find it at the moment.

Now that is shit just waiting to happen, cops get scared when they find out you have a gun, do you wan to be a statistic? Tell moms to Keep her shit! I'm just sayin because you asked!

God damn you are one ignorant motherfucker. You do know its your constitutional right to have a firearm right? To the OP yes its legal for you to carry the gun from Georgia to Florida. Do a little Google research if you want more information. Most states its legal to carry your firearm in your car. The issue comes into play when you want to conceal carry. You usually have to get a permit for that. Its a shame that folks don't know their rights concerning guns in America.

My shit goes with me everywhere. Sometimes one in my pocket and one in the console.

How often do you get pulled over??? Just put the gun in your trunk, unloaded. Drive like you've got some sense.

So even though I am not licensed I can drive to Fl with no worries?

The Southern states have real relaxed laws dealing with firearms. Its state like California and out there that are real strict. New York is also fucked up as well. Most current guns can't even be sold in Cali.

Read the gun laws for each State. http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/USReciprocity.pdf

In CA the unloaded gun must be locked in one place of the auto and ammo locked in another. Example, Gun locked in the trunk and the ammo locked in the glove box both needing a key to unlock.

Remember the Second Amendment, Concealed Carry and the fact that you have both a right and responsibility to take a pro-active position in your personal defense. :hmm:

it is legal to have the gun in your car in GA and FL....as long as its in a lock box or the glove compartment. but u can't carry it outside your car unless you have a CCW. most niggaz fuck up when they try to put the gun under the seat or the door of the car. that will get u a felony charge. put it in the glove compartment....and make sure its not loaded.

Yes it has to be where you can't get to it. Its been years since i been in school I'm kind of rusty on the proper wording. Out of reach or something it was called back in the day. In Texas you can legally walk down the street with a shotgun. I wouldn't advise it but its legal. I can remember as a kid guys would have their rifle in plain view on a view in the rear window. To many thieves nowadays unless you in the country.

Never owned.

I ALWAYS learn something when a BGOL family member asks a firearm question.

This community is invaluable.

You can walk around hear in GA like Axle Foley...sh!t just out in the open in the shoulder holster, LOL!

Dont bring yo ass through nyc
Don't bring it through Jersey or Maryland. 1 strike and 12months per bullet before they give you the possession charge

Something I found a while ago:
SUVs don't have a "trunk" in most states - the entire vehicle and wheel well is considered withing reach of a reasonable sized person. A lockable bolted down utility bin is not "out of reach" in most states either. However a bolted down lockable gun rack fixed to the rear seats or floor is legal. Lol.

Meanwhile... back at the ranch
