An NYPD hostage negotiator teams up with a federal agent to rescue dozens of tourists held hostage during a 10-hour siege at the U.S. Federal Reserve.

Inside Man is Spike Lee's most financially successful movie. I have no idea why a sequel wasn't made earlier. I heard that there was some talk about it but it never got done and I don't really know why.

I remember inside Man came out when I was deployed in Kuwait. There was a bootleg floating around and I got a hold of it... And I wish I hadn't. It was the last bootleg I ever watched

It was so off center, it said starring Denzel Wa

What is that? The Chinese Denzel? Fuck that

Playa posted an article about why it never got made.....

some money shit but i have seen worse movies get sequel`s so thats bullshit...

they always fuck with spike...

Exactly. And it made more money on the foreign market than it did domestically.

That was a hit though. I like the way that was done

OK... The OVERALL IDEA is actually good.

Being a DIRECT sequel though is a heavy burden cause you got a safety net of making references to the original

but the HEIST has to be just as clever if not MORE so than the original

Its NOT

The bad girl lead is miscast...it was lazy.

And my girl from Saul was good...

but then it just falls apart.

It was predictable painfully so and the ending was WACK.

The lead actor is actually good... but his decision to do some type of lose Denzel impersonation was not wise.

And really hurt the overall performance.

It was way to paint by numbers and had REAL potential to be a cool flip.

And interestingly? There were some REAL good performances sprinkled throughout.

The solution?

They should have let Spike oversee this ENTIRE PROJECT

even if he did not actually write or direct.

Not really worth the watch. But if you REALLY liked Inside Man?

This is a GREAT hate watch.

Do you think that it had influence on this Spanish production?

Same concept but practically made into a Soap Opera.

It looks like the studio played Spike because he was looking for funding for a sequel for awhile but couldn't get it. I know the actors was willing to comeback whenever a sequel was made....

I guess, the movie studio rather cut cost even though the first movie's budget was 45 million dollars and made 120 million dollars.

Not a problem and I watched some of it again on TV and my opinion ain't changed.

And mine and others "aint changed" either. You're still deep in the minority. Inside Man (not the sequel) was a well made movie, with an original plot and featured some of the most renown actors of our time". Many would say it was one of Spike Lee's best. :hmm:

Naw, they stole the plot from Money Heist and crammed it into a shitty movie production

Boom

It doesn't make sense on any level why the studio didnt make a sequel years ago.
