Tracy McGrady: ‘Anybody can win a championship. Everybody can’t get in the Hall of Fame’

NBA Hall of Fame is the easiest to get in, if this was an NFL player saying this then maybe but nah T-Mac.

NFL HOF >>>>> NBA HOF :itsawrap:
You sure? I feel like the NFL you can get in just off affiliation with basic stats. Isn't like the entire Steelers offense from the 80s is in the hall of fame?

But tmac is saying this to make up for his lack of rings

If he doesn't take his underachieving ass on somewhere. I bet that nigga still has Piston nightmares. Robert Horry stung his ass on espn a few months back...he's probably still butthurt.

TMac made 160 mil during his career and is going to the hell of fame

Rob made 50 mil and won seven rings

Who's career would you rather have?

It's actually not a weak argument

He would have been GP on Miami if he won a ring in San Antonio

Would you think more of his career because he got a ring?

What matters Mitch Richmond's career with Golden State or him getting a ring while playing in only a couple of games for the Lakers?
It actually is. The context he is using it is to defend the reason he doesn't have a ring or to invalidate winning a ring because he doesn't have one. If he had a ring he wouldnt' be making his argument to invalidate it. He was a star in this league, and the litmus test of a STAR is winning. Thats like Jordan or LeBron trying to invalidate Bill Russells 13 chips by bringing up the 12th man on the bench on those teams having 13 rings too...

Weak argument...

Irrelevant. We're talking about Tmac being bitter...and a little bit envious. Don't try to shit on the pinnacle of team success just because you couldn't get there. I like Tracy as a person and a player, but "stay in your lane".

An NFL player couldn't even get away with saying some shit like this.

T-Mac is right. Basketball isn't Boxing or Tennis.

Just goes to show how dumb most sports fans are to think differently and compare individual sports to team sports.

Hall of Fame (an individual accomplishment) will always trump a championship (team accomplishment) in this situation.

Things players with no rings say...
T-Mac was a ok player but,
was he really a hall of famer?

The hell it isn't relevant

This isn't tennis

This isn't Shareena versus Maria Sharipova

What is he bitter about? He made over $150, went to all star games, was all NBA and is going to the NBA Hall Of Fame

I think you dudes think more about the title shit because of the media and people like Skip Bayless than the actual athlete.

Are any of you as good as TMac was in your field?

Are you bitter?

Then why the fuck should he be bitter?

Stop with the bullshit ESPN talking head talking points. The shit makes no sense.

The only thing TMac is probably annoyed with is people who never played in the NBA asking him that stupid ass shit and telling him what he feels

Why do these guys (NFL/NBA) want to be in the Hall of Fame so badly? What's the incentive?

Well he kinda got a point and kinda don't. In HOF you go among a few select that will be recognized throughout time on display in the NBA museum. Championship is a stat, ie all the pine riders will get a ring too but they won't he immortalized in HOF. Lots of great players will. Still, the goal is to win it all. Which tmac didn't.

If it was me I'd say I played the game to win a ring, unfortunately that didn't happen and at some point my body wore out. I'd imagine my consolation prize would be recognized as a hof'mer. (then cry in the car)

JR Smith shouldn't have spoken up

He's the perfect example of someone with a ring who won't be remembered in 20 years

and he questioned TMac's intelligence :smh:

You can't believe this dumb ring shit and then get upset at KD for running to Golden State

I remember every NFL, NBA, D1 football/basketball championship squad over the last 30 years. Not so much for their hof members. I'm not discounting the hof at all(I think you're assuming that), but Tracy sounds like a fool comparing the two. Just enjoy your hof status and don't try to minimize someone else's life accomplishments in an effort to pat yourself on the back. It isn't unnecessary and he comes off a little insecure about not having more team success.

dude put up 30+ points some yrs..almost average 2 blocks a game some yrs..dude was an offensive machine in his prime and unfortunately due to his injuries never got to show his full greatness for a long period throw in grant hill getting injured and we never got to see how great that duo would've been..them two would've fuck around and did some big things in the east together if both didn't get hurt

I remember in 2007 Tracy McGrady had issues with the NBA All-Star game being in New Orleans in 2008 because he thought it was unsafe, McGrady even said he would look into not going, it turned out to be a non-issue as he wasn't selected as an All-Star that year, which was hilarious to me.

LeBron is goin to the Kobe fanclub or to the Lakers? Theres a difference Vanessa. Just like 90% of the dudes cupcaking MJ AINT Bulls fans

Don't you mean the George Mikan, Jerry West or Magic fan club?

Did you see the Lakers fans at summer league

It seems like Laker fans aren't like you...hoping from team to team following your man crush, like you hop from dicks in real life.
