Top recruit collapses in court after receiving three-year prison sentence

Kicked her in the head while she was on the ground??? Domestic violence is a zero tolerance offense in the court of law. Now I'm thinking he should've been prepared to do some time.

He should have been prepared, butyou could tell his lawyer fed him some bullshit about probation.

Normally kidnapping comes with more serious penalties. Dude is lucky he got what he got and can serve his sentences together.

He'll be out in less than two years.

yall clowns are acting like kidnappin, assault and robbery arent serious offenses. If you want to roll dice in front of the judge that's on you big fella

truth

:lol::lol: did anybody notice the lawyer do da pat riley face from dat jordan 55 point game...the oh no not dis shit again look

jacoby and meyers failed dat black kid next time get a real lawyer not cousin vinny

I don't buy that it is so obvious that his lawyer fed him bullshit. Most likely he was told all along but never came to grips with it until it hit him in the head.....some guys don't want to believe fat meat is greasy.

Young fella didn't faint. Tough break. He can still bcome what he wants if he keeps his eyes on the prize. Just do the time with dignity, cell therapy not all bad. Sometimes it change ur life for the better b/c u get ur head right.

Some of the people on this board is broken hearted and jaded. Kats ride celebrity sports dick all the time then can't understand why that celebrity acts like an asshole. I see the special treatment good athletes get from elementary school to the pros, let those kats get caught up & see the haters manifest. I wish homeboy & homegirl the best. Hopefully he learn the lesson he needed to learn.

Normally when a woman is remorseful after an physical altercation with her significant other, that "I wish him the best, still love him talk" in her case "He was a good person, I hope he finds that again" she was a part of turning the guy into the attacker. People will always say we as men should have better control over our emotions. But this younger generation grew up without some of the values some of us 30 and ups grew up on whether we listened to it or not "Men shouldn't hit women."

But women are hitting men now. There are cross gender fights all over these urban playgrounds. And many black men will suffer under this current system. Anyone ever sat in a barbershop when a man admitted his girlfriend was beating him up and he didn't know what to do? Most likely not; still a taboo subject. But if he ever places hands back on her, he gets locked up. I'm not saying this is the exact case in this situation. It's going to take more than the President Obama commercial against Domestic Violence, to slow it down. We need to get back to the playgrounds, back to our homes and teach life fundamentals to our children.

Fucked up thing is that she came to court and pleaded to them on his behalf. It's obvious that he wasn't fully informed and didn't understand what was likely to take place in court but he did commit a severe crime.

I was willing to show a little sympathy til I read dude kicked the sister in the head while she was down. So he got what he deserved, maybe even got off a little easy. Then again if it were my daughter I'd want to see dude under the jail.

I wasn't sure where you were going with this but yeah I understand. It's a taboo subject and even more taboo to play devils advocate but it is a reality. It's like in sports, the player that retaliates is usually penalized, not the proveker. Same thing with domestic violence.

The judge clearly doesn't have any children. For a first time offence she throws the book at him, common that's bullshit especially over a lovers quarrel. By the look on his face you can tell he genuinely thought he was just gonna get probabtion. His lawyer gave him wrong advice, why would you cop a gulity plea especially on a felony charge. U'r not gonna get off lightly, what was his lawyer thinking.

I'm not condoning wrong doing, but how u'r gonna destroy the mans future over an argument with his girl that just got outta hand. When u'r a judge I'm sure the factor of is this person likely to be a repeat offender again comes into play when making a decision. The victim or his ex girl even pleaded with the judge not to put the dude in prison. His lawyer railroaded him badly.

Yours Truly......Professor

in any state if you have a felony assault or kidnapping charge on you whether it's your first offense or not you going to do time probation is not an option those are serious charges and the girlfriend pleaded with the judge does nothing now cause he already pleaded guilty so the judge now just goes off of sentencing guidelines

He copped a plea because the incident was on video. No matter how many people said he was a great kid or whether a not his ex said he shouldn't get time a jury of 12 people would have had to ignore a tape that apparently show a 6'7 man kicking a woman in the head without any real provocation.

The kid didn't seem aware of the possibility that what happened could happen but ultimately it was the judge's call and let's be real a black man is usually going to get a stiffer punishment than any other group of people in this country. Ultimately don't do the crime.

goddamn he stomped her ass good :smh: nigga deserve what he got really. he might only be locked up for a year if that.

This is "The New Jim Crow" in full effect.

This is why all these young cats just on their way to manhood need to stay away from dealing with women until they learn to deal with their emotional range, and keep it in check.

Because Dudes as young Black Men,
Will always get the short end of the stick.
Regardless of the situation.

his life isn't over...

and he can still go to college if he so desires when he gets out...

with good behavior ..he can be out in 18 months... if not sooner.. since the judge said she would review the case in 6 months...

he can get his GED...go to a junior college and play ball for them for two years...

then apply to various 4-year universities from there...

i hope the brotha...chooses to go that path...

judgin' from the brotha's reaction to the sentence..he's not a hardened criminal..he can be rehabilitated...

He's finished fam..

bout 15 yrs ago a top recruit in NYC Richie Parker was accused of rape and I think he served bout a yr... he went to LIU but never really didnt anything after that

Damn... He's barely an adult. How old was he when that shit happen?.. Damn, female judges voices as stern as fuck! got dayumn this is sad. :smh:

Actually, its not sad. He seems like one of those guys who got caught before he had enough money to hide his crimes. Probably better for society that he chill for a few years.

I laughed so hard and loud when he fainted like a bitch.. LMAO!!!!

Can't do the time, don't do the crime.. Don't feel sorry for this dumb ass nigga at all..

There was nothing funny about that shit dude seemed to have been held on bond so they gave him a high bond why the fuck would the lawyer allow him to make an open plea in front of a judge with no express promises :smh: must have been a court appointed lawyer.

A kid with a bright future should not have been given that stiff of a sentence :smh:

That judge was a cold blooded bitch and the lawyer didn't give a fuck

Just because he can play basketball doesn't mean he should get a free pass. People act like the cat got 10 years in maximum security....it's not that crucial. He'll probably do a year and a half. Then he can apply for junior college. Since there's video footage of his crime, I doubt any reputable school will offer him a scholarship, but that's life. You make mistakes and get caught, you pay for em'. He wasn't giving a single fuck when he was mule kicking that chick in the dome, so I have sympathy for him. I hope he turns his life around though.

I dont think 3 years is long enough, His parents should have taught him better. At 18 years old, he should have more control over his emotions. Its obvious that his parents failed him. As a father of 2 daughters, these are the type of guys you never what your daughter to be involved with. Some fool who thinks they own you.

 wowwwwwwwwwww u brought it back..i personally kno thought dat situation way more than a lil.. crazy thing is da info i got was shorty set him up to try to get a pay check..it was 18 yrs ago.. he was suppose to go to seton hall end up destroying dat dream try to come back to liu da hype for dude died down crazy.. now he juss living a regular life

It really wasn't but he failed to compose himself and got 3 years for 3 girly kicks.

it was 4..da only reason why it didn't have great impact cause she actually had good defense on blocking.. if u see da first kick if she didn't block it he prob would've broke her nose maybe knocked out a few of her teeth...anotha 1 of his kicks could have gave her a mild concussion..2 other 1's wouldn't have done great damage but still at the end of da day who wants to get kick in da face/head..to some of u it didn't look bad but anybody on dis board who got a daughter or sister u prob would've went to his house and lit his ass up..me i'm kinda sadistic a bullet in each knee and 2 in da crotch and let him live so dat everyday he tries to urinate he thinks about what he did and when he watches bball and notices his limp he'll have thoughts of what could've been:yes::yes:
