Todd Bowles Fired as Jets Head Coach After 4 Seasons with Team

only Lynn LAC lucked up....actually had established good players....most likely COTY....too bad most brothas don't get those kind of opportunities
You're right....Chargers had a squad just needed to flourish. Plus they had a QB in place. They seemed to be more NFL ready than most teams who need a new coach. These Browns job, Jets Jobs, Cardinals jobs.....these shits not even fair.

Let a brotha get a team thats good just underachieving. Nobody is taking a team from shit and turning them to sugar but it seems like thats whats being asked from brothers and they not getting enough time to do it. But no one seems to be doing it. Garrett been in Dallas awhile and Lewis has been in Cinci awhile......it seems like owners just impatient. Gruden about to be on some 5 year plan bullshit though after tearing up his team.

I'm interested to see what these mobile qb's can do throwing to wide open guys like Jared Goff seems to do. Sean McVey makes the game easy for him.

but see there you go...

he almost doing college offensive

read option stuff, motion stuff

McVay talking to him the WHOLE time...

damn near TELLING him where the reads are what the options are etc....

We will see if that is GOOD or BAD for FUTURE success.

I STILL think you can't just THROW a rookie QB out there like that.

Bucs should have KEPT Lovie

not only for on the field stuff (which he was GOOD at)

he would have KEPT Jameis in check off the field too.

C/S
GB will be good job to take this season everything else is a set up...that brotha that took that Cards job will end up like Bowles in a season or 2 :smh:

This has nothing to do with race. Boles never showed any improvement in his in-game management. Even after 4 years he was making bone-headed decisions that everybody could see.

I like the way Boles got the team to play hard but too many times they were unprepared and it was obvious.

They've got a gem of a QB looks like and they need an offensive coach to groom him. They need help on both lines and an edge.

They need a coupla backers and they can easily find some wideouts and a back in the draft or camp. The good news is they've got 100 mil cap money. Now it's on McCagnan. If he fucks that up then he has to go.

Oh, yeah, DO NOT sign Le'veon Bell.

ITs not about race but at the same time he was a dead man walking. He never had a chance at succeeding there. That's the type of jobs they give us.

I was too happy when the jets had a black coach and qb..

but I knew damn well they was never gonna develop a "black" qb in new york...especially not with a black coach..

the minute they made fitzpatrick their go to qb..

it was a fuckin wrap...

I aint give a fuck about the jets no more...

I think Im going for the ravens how is that lil bro qb still doing over there...

I havent seen a game all year... but if there is a bro qb in the playoffs..

I may go to a playoff party or two...
He was the only rookie qb that was drafted this year make the playoffs

But they gonna give roy to the white boy baker

I'm not a fan of Bowles. Doesn't change my point and no honest management would say "I gave him the tools"... the squad has been trash. That's the GM's fault. The team is not under-performing. They don't have much talent and sent several starters to IR while starting a rookie QB.

Now a white coach is going to take over with the biggest issue being resolved (QB)...now they can build a squad with their franchise QB on a rookie contract.

My point remains. Black coaches more often than not get the shittiest available coaching jobs and get fired just when management solves the QB problem.

that roster has been a mess, he had to manage ridiculous personalities his first couple of years...almost like they wanted him to come in & be an authority figure for them dudes. They let him manage over the team while they sucked long enough to get a QB to build around.

that's what the plan seems to be... same shit with Hue. He took over a shitty team, they had stockpiled draft picks and started adding talent but had horrible shit going on when he took over. They finally drafted their franchise QB and then got rid of the Josh Gordon problem and then handed the team over to someone else once they were making the turn.

but I understand the league has changed ALL THE RULES to benefit a pocket passer...
And:
But we have seen WAY to many "mobile" quarterbacks get KILLED out here...

Racism at it's finest.
Before the concept of a running QB could take full hold of the League, the rules were changed not only to prevent their success, but also to allow for their eventual injury.
You can only hit a certain type of quarterback in today's NFL.

He was 24-40. Wasn’t all his fault but the fans would have revolted if he wasn’t canned.

The GM better not strike out in this upcoming draft or he’s next to walk the plank.

So when the brothas get a qb with some potential they fire them for white saviors... happened to lovie (Winston), happened in Cleveland (mayfield) happened in New York(darnold)

At least unlike the players these fired coaches still get paid

No. That's not right. Teams don't fire 10-6 coaches, they fire 6-10 coaches and so the next coach almost always walks into a losing situation. Black, white, whatever rarely do coaches walk into a job with a 12-4 playoff team.

New York might just be the least racist city in america and I live here and I'm telling you race had zero to do with it. If you look back at some of the Jets coaches, who happened to be white, they got trashed way worse then Boles and they were out quicker too.

It was performance or lack thereof that got Boles fired.

Now, if you want to talk in a broader sense, that's another matter.

As a Jets fan I can say good fucking riddance . He coached scared. I watched him constantly take the ball out of his QB's hands and lean on our average defense to stop mobile QBs who gained momentum after we led in games. No lead we ever had was safe because he coached not to lose instead of to win. Wheneve we got our offense rolling, he'd shut it down. Whatever was working he'd put the game in reverse and start trying to run clock and hold on. We had at least 5 more games we could've won, just get away.

You look at that Jets team and felt they underperformed? Like they were a good team? With a rookie qb? A defensive minded coach at that?

I never said underperformed. I said there were times they were obviously unprepared. And no mid-game adjustments were made. Timeouts called for no reason, terrible clock management, ridiculous trick plays when the whole stadium knew what was coming. Those are the things that doomed Boles. But even with all that, had he finished 8-8 he would probably still be on the job. They probably would have told him to hire a different O coordinator but he would still be HC.

Lovie Smith had 10-6 record when he got fired years back

Seriously? Are you being intentionally obtuse? Of course, there will always be outliers; Smith was one. He got canned because of his playoff failures. For every Lovie Smith with a 10-6 record that gets sacked, there are a thousand Rich Kotites. What did Clevland do with Belichick after he went 5-11 after going 11-5 the year before?

Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer was fired after a 14-2 season in 2006

Cause Tom Brady came to San Diego and won a game that they shouldn’t have won in the divisional weekend. Chargers were the best team in the NFL that season and should have won the Super Bowl. But they couldn’t and Marty got canned.

Wrong. He was battling with both the GM and the owner. His coaches left and he wanted his brother, I think, to be a coach. There a many games Brady won, most with help from the zebras that "he wasn't supposed to."

You guys really gotta stop pulling this shit outta your ass. Of course, there's going to be a few exceptions but in Boles' case he got along with both the GM and the owner in absentia and his son.

Now I'm going to celebrate.

Peaceful and healthy new year to you all.

Todd Bowles won’t be unemployed for long.

The recently fired ex-Jets coach is expected to land on what will become Bruce Arians’ staff with the Buccaneers as the defensive coordinator role. Bowles worked under Arians in the same role with the Cardinals in 2013-14.

Bowles finished his four-year tenure as Jets head coach with a 24-40 record, including a 14-34 mark over his final three seasons.

Arians was out of coaching for a season, working as an analyst for CBS Sports. A two-time coach of the year with a background coaching quarterbacks, he stepped down as the Arizona head coach after a five-year run that saw him post a 49-30-1 record. He previously worked with Bucs GM Jason Licht on the Cardinals, and has familiarity with Tampa QB Jameis Winston, an attendee of Arians’ youth football camp.

Alot of these black coaches are just terrible. They just can't coach.

They are better off as high school coaches cause it has shown on many of occasions they have problems coaching pro football.

Mike Tomlin was the last black coach to have some legit success and win a superbowl but that was in 2009 that's been years ago so that tells you something.
