Yes. I just listened in on a tele-townhall from the VA yesterday.Unless I see some bad stats about these vaccines over the next several months, I am definitely going to get it because just looking at the stats up til now, the vaccines are working and are working very well.
Who's going to get it and who's going to roll the dice and NOT take the booster?
The Biden administration has decided that most Americans should get a coronavirus booster vaccination eight months after they received their second shot, and could begin offering third shots as early as the third week of September, according to administration officials familiar with the discussions.
Officials are planning to announce the decision on Wednesday at the White House. Their goal is to let Americans who received the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines know now that they will need additional protection against the Delta variant, which is causing caseloads to surge across much of the nation. But the new policy will depend on the Food and Drug Administration authorizing additional shots.

Of course there’s going to be huge increases after huge gatherings. Stop worrying about people living their best lives. They’ll be aite.I won't, once the holidays are over there's going to be a large increase in cases. Those infected individuals will be everywhere. The grocery store, work, etc.

So there's a different vaccine for the Delta variant?November for me. Must remember that the variant going around now is not the same one we got vaccinated for. My main homie texted me a couple hours ago. Turns out he just got home from the hospital due to the COVID and pneumonia. He was there over a week.
NOW he wants to go get the shot
As of now, the data suggest that the vaccines now are effective against the Delta, but not as effective as the original Sars 2 virus. So there's a different vaccine for the Delta variant?
OK thanksAs of now, the data suggest that the vaccines now are effective against the Delta, but not as effective as the original Sars 2 virus.
Keep in mind no vaccine is 100% foolproof, but the margin of error vs the Delta is a bit lower than the Alpha (o.g. strain).
Keep in mind your health status has a direct correlation to the effectiveness of the vaccine, meaning those with compromised immune systems have a higher risk of a breakthrough infection in comparison to those who are fully healthy. But in both cases, the odds of them dying or getting sick are greatly reduced with the vaccination.
Also, the book is still open on how many vaccinated people will become asymptomatic (potential carriers) posing a threat towards people who aren't vaccinated, this is the main reason to get vaccinated because if that number is high (like I and others suspect) then being not vaccinated and walking around with no mask, in a city like NYC would be like walking around with no mask on at the start of the pandemic, but only 6 times worse (because the Delta is said to be six times more infectious).
