Tina got a right to do whatever the hell she want with her catalog fuck what y'all think.
Explain the sell off for so cheap?
She not only sold her catalog...
She sold her name, likeness and everything
Shit, George Foreman got 137.5 Million for his name
I don't know. I would hope a LOT more than 50 million. So how much is her catalog worth? And how did you come to that conclusion?
That don't mean sqaut. Trump owned plenty of shit and was walking around dead broke.I do not know to that extent the reason behind this reported operation
all I'm saying is she is not desperate for cash as she owns multiple real estates in Switzerland for over 30 years and that market in that country is not suffering at all
I've worked for a company in Geneva which shared the building with the firm running her real estate, that business was thriving
someone make her eat the cake again for this move81 years old.
selling the rights of your music.
For $50 million.
Fuck it then.
She's 81 and her oldest living kid is 60. Everybody talking about her kids like they 12yo. Who knows what the relationship is like...What about her kids?
I doubt it.
Tina Turner already lost the rights to most of her music when she divorced Ike Turner. All of her hits from the 80s and 90s were written by other people. This means that she would only own the sound recordings at the very most. Considering the way '80s record contracts worked she's lucky to even have that.
It's also worth noting that her husband, Erwin Bach, used to be a high level executive at EMI records. It's reasonable to assume that he used his expertise and influence to get her the best deal she possibly could.
As for the inheritance, Swiss law states that half of the money would automatically go to her spouse and the other half would go to her kids and grandchildren.
Anna Mae's cashing in like..
Dylan, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Stevie Nicks..
The big difference here is I don't think she wrote any of her songs (not sure)...which is why I found it strange that her NIL was included.
Maybe that added more value.
I guess all those ol timers are taking the money off the table, so they can do whatever they want in their twilight.
You've both made some good point about the song writing..... Tina sung a lot of hits but I'm guessing the writing credits and ownership belonged to other people.
Bob Dylan recently sold his entire music catalogue for $300 million but the main difference was that he wrote all of the songs... I suppose that's the main difference when it comes to valuing the work of an artiste.
Wow at your first 2 sentencesShe's in her 80's, had cancer and a stroke. She even said her documentary is the last we'll see of her in public again. Why should she try for a big payday when she most likely doesn't need the money and won't be around much longer to enjoy it?

Exactly. Her music ain't that hot by today's standards. Can't tell you the last time I heard a Tina track being played somewhere. I'm sure the streaming numbers ain't too high either. The business model has changed, so $50m seems pretty good. RKelly was selling his catalog for like $500k to pay for legal fees. This is 2021 music doesn't have the same value looks like she's preparing and getting her estate together.
I thought she undersold her catalog, but her likeness and name?! She fought so hard to keep it only to sell it for so little?! Watch BMG come out with a line of Tina Turner products and music that launches her back to the forefront and they make that 50mil overnight!
Tina ain't the victim everyone thinks she is.God Bless Miss Tina.
I wish her all the best.
Peace and Blessings.
She has had a rough life.
She has no star appeal with the younger generation.![]()

And she will be dead in 10 to 20 years. Enjoy your dough while you’re young. That's it? They will make back that 50 mill in 10 to 20 years![]()
The only son she ever had has already passed away. Only thing she have left is her step kids if she still claims them. And I think one of them had passed too.I hope she is doing that to leave her children a little something..
Im surprised she didnt auction it off,
she couldve probably doubled or tripled her initial offering
Tina ain't the victim everyone thinks she is.
I'm surprised folk still don't understand not gaining wealth in the music industry unless you're an executive, writer and producerWhen you don't write your shit this is what happens. People were shocked that TLC were broke and Toni Braxton was broke they didn't write anything. Whitney Houston died with what 20 mil her biggest hit was written by Dolly Parton. I'm sure Dolly is thankful to her every time a royalty check comes.
She probably was desperate for cash.
That's a LOW BALL figure.
Why does everyone always think selling your assets is a bad idea. Selling your assets at below market value is a bad idea. The company did not disclose how much it paid, but industry sources said the figure would be north of $50m

so why title it she sold it for 50 mill...?![]()
wasnt the beef between her and Ike that she was pregnant
with someone elses child...
I also heard she was a boss bitch, like all the chicks
in her neighborhood was scared of her..
and I have aunts that look and act wild just like
her, and they wont hesitate to stab a muthafucka
talkin out the side of their mouth...
and she go to church ERE WEEK!!!
LOL
