He's 33.

Historically golfers dont hit their prime until 35-45.

No golfer has ever taken care of their bodies like this, so it could easily be 35-55 or even 60..

To put it in perspective, were looking at Jordan at 7 years old with 4 championship rings destroying the league..

ABSOLUTELY DESTROYING THE LEAGUE.

Youre going to be hearing about this man for a long time, and your unborn kids will hear about him, and maaaaaybe their kids.

Thats why.

So....who cares about his championships. I bet he hasn't fucked more bitches than me...

Shit...
After what Dude did yesterday...

I've already destroyed this story in the other thread.

Tiger may end up the greatest golfer ever and one of the most dominant athletes but he can never be THE ONE.

How does he go over Jim Thorpe, Jim Brown, or Bill Russell? The first two were multi-sport stars and Thorpe and Russell won Olympic gold.

You havent dont anything. History will see him as the greatest so your opinion just doesnt matter.

it just doesnt.

Other than golf...what sport is he good at?

Bo Jackson for instance, was a great football player and an all-star baseball player.

WOW, okay, take Tiger's nuts out of your mouth! He is NOT the greatest Athlete ever.

To me, someone that would have to qualify as the greatest athlete ever is someone that can compete at many different sports at a very high level and people recognize the skills.

Now, is Tiger one of the best golfers to ever hold a golf club? Oh, most def, but that ain't enough to qualify him as the best athlete. what's his baseball skills like? Can he play basketball? Can he dunk? Can he throw a football? Is he capable of running a route and burnin a CB and catch a pass under pass coverage? Can he burn in the 100m? 200m? 400m? Can he knock a baseball into the outfield? All of these, doubtful.

I'd give Terrell Owens more athletic status than Tiger. Heck, I'd give Bo Jackson, Ken Griffey, Jr., Deion Sanders, Michael Jordan...who else comes to mind? Jackie Joyner Kersee, Edwin Moses...you get the picture.

exactly do say some stupid shit like that ever again

I think you worded it wrong, but I understand your point. I would maybe call him the most dominant of his sport. He is even slated to be the first billionaire athlete. DAMN!

Golf is a Sport??:confused::smh:

if thats the case you can't have this "greatest athlete" discussion without bringing up Viswanathan Anand

Michael Jordan only excelled at basketball, and he sucked at baseball...

Yet most everyone here is on his dick still as the best ever anywhere.

And what Tiger has done, and continues to do is eclipsing that.

As far as money making ability, dominance over the competition, the way he's changed the game for so many people... shit they change golf courses to make it harder for him and he STILL dominates.

And there's a difference between being the greatest overall athlete ever (multi sport guys) and saying someone is the greatest athlete ever.

When you say greatest athlete ever you're saying

Wilt was damn dominant in Basketball, but Tiger's dominance in Golf is more impressive... shit like that.

Being a dominate force within your sport over an extended period of time is how I would determine greatness. Thorpe, Brown, and Bill Russell were great players as for being the greatest athletes I would say no.

These players were great in a time in which athletes didn't train as well as those today. I would say they were all great for their time.

As for Tiger Woods no question he will be possibly is the greatest golfer of all time. However I would not consider him the greatest athlete. The reason being you can't compare a golfer to a football player as you wouldn't compare a pineapple to a grape. Some will tell you it's Lance Armstrong but how do you compare Armstrong to a Lebron James? You can't!

Being able to excel in multiple sports has never been a criteria for selecting the "best" athlete ever. There is no such thing as "the best athlete ever" because noone can dominate every sport. As was stated above, some of the athletes considered "best ever" only excelled in one sport and was either average or slightly above average in whatever else they did. With that being said, Tiger can lay claim to being the most dominant player in his sport. He has been ranked number one in his sport for 10 years straight. That's like winning the MVP in basketball or football 10 years straight. It has never been done in the NFL or NBA and probably never will. So for Tiger to reach that plateau is amazing. He has won more tournaments than anyone in his sport ever did at his age. Once again, you can't ignore that fact. He has been the top money earner each of the last ten years and is approaching the billion dollar mark. Thats something no other athlete has ever done. I used to think golf wasn't a sport until I started playing. The stuff Tiger does is almost unheard of and no other player in the world can do the things he can. All you cats who think golf is "stick ball" need to go out on the golf course and see if you can back up your claims. Tiger is the most dominant athlete in "sports" but he is not "the greatest athlete". There is no such creature.

Huh? So being great, even dominant, in more than one sport disqualifies a person from being considered "the greatest athlete ever"? But dominating one is a better deteminant?

I don't buy the "you can't compare a team sport to an individual sport" cop-out. that would mean Tiger could only be compared to boxers and tennis players for the most part. Even by that faulty standard, Tiger loses to Jim Thorpe, Dan O'Brien and a hundred other Olympic decathlon winners (Thorpe also won the pentathlon).

You can compare Armstrong and James. Cycling is a team sport.
