This that bullshit that makes DJs look bad

It's bad enough when katts are critical bout any DJ not using vinyl and swear every DJ that has a laptop is just pushing buttons. This bitch makes it even worse. :smh:

Watched some of the video. There is such a difference between real DJs and Club DJs.

DJ is a title that gets thrown around way too freely. Tjis chick has no craft whatsoever, yet I'm betting she's making a killing in Europe.

Are we sure this isn't just the camera angle and lighting?

I only question it because as a current videographer, I know some of those lights will not show up on cameras when there's ambient light around.

If they are off however, then yes, this is pathetic.

She is just dancing to a prerecorded mix. Even in one of the "mixes" she is dancing while another song is coming in.

Yea I see now. I ain't watch that whole video but her tactics are definitely questionable to say the least.

66 minutes? Timestamp?
Sorry for not being more clear on that. From the jump she's faking the funk. No LEDs on any of the CDJs, the tonearms for the turntables aren't on the records, she has no laptop up so she has to either be playing off a flash drive connected to the CDJs or a cd is loaded in them yet there's no display on the main screen. In her post, she claims the display is faded cuz of direct sunlight yet there's no way she's mixing or pitch controlling without looking at the display or platters. Hell she even takes off her headphones at points where she's supposed to have them on for monitoring songs that are gonna supposedly be blended in or adjusted via pitch control. She's 100% faking.

I didn't watch the whole video either. I was done after 30 seconds when I saw that none of the equipment was on yet she was manipulating the platters like she was trying to pitch control and I don't even think she touched her fader once.

So I have to ask. What is the point in even having a DJ? If all they're going to do is put out a pre-recorded mix, why not just play the mix and skip out on the cost of the DJ.

The event had other DJs who actually did use the equipment and I guess she has a following even though she's clearly a faker. Plus I guess the visual of live music being mixed is more appealing for audiences than a random pre-recording from who knows where.

DJs are a draw. Get a cute chick who's a "DJ" and has a following and promote them playing at a club=huge payday for all parties involved.
Yep.

By biggest complaint is that many DJs are clueless to the type of event they are playing for. I've bee to 50th wedding anniversaries where the dj is playing house music. Me and brother had to take over with our iPhones to play appropriate music for my aunt and uncle.

Or elementary school party's where the dj is playing the non radio version of songs.

I've seen this as well. I've had to step in plenty of times at functions and get it jumping simply because the noobs behind the decks are lost. Older DJ's know and respect the craft, and know how to play to their crowd which is DJ'ing 101, but these younger kids today have no clue.

They simply learn how to mix and think they're Tiesto or Skrillex. :smh::smh::smh:

I asked the same thing a long time ago. You'd be shocked because turntables were widely available but cats would put a mix on CD, set up his whole equipment, let the CD play while he was outside for a few hours. One time dude was on campus fucking with us doing a set in the cafeteria then... "oh shit!!! gimme a ride up to Top Flight - I gotta be there in 10 minutes!!!!" and he would have a packed house of locals and campus cats rocking to one of his premixed CDs, turntable off like a mother fucker. Then had the nerve to mix in a record, put on another CD, totally forgot we were there and went outside to fuck with some chicks. We dapped him and went back to our set where my partner was holding it down.

That was a lesson for life. He was at a paid gig, fucking off and doing whatever the hell he wanted, with exposure to all the off-campus chicks with cars (or at least catching a ride) but they cleaned up well.
At our free set we were busting our ass lugging equipment up a fire escape, risking our vinyl, had to censor the records, all of the chicks that came to the free joint were in street/class clothes and stayed in 'no coed visitation' house, plus we didn't get paid.

Paris Hilton is a DJ.

DJ Khaled is another one who is absolutely terrible behind turntables yet has the audacity to have the moniker of DJ in his name :smh:

Nastia Its funny to see how brave you are to judge me about technick equipment.. Some of you might not understand how I can mix with the "turned off cd's", but this is pure bullshit I can say because professional artists know that cd player displays are not visible when the day light coming from up to them. Even a dj when he is playing he has to put the hand on top of the player to see the list. So fuck off haters and non-educated people. I really don't take you serious cause it's just ridiculous
