man, I wanted to get ya'll thoughts on what I did today. I took my lil nephew his gifts today. His momma, my sis, talkin bout some "look what Santa brought her baby earlier", I was like "ain't no such thing, these gifts from UNCLE SANTA !, ME !" She repeated that shit to her son, "Santa is real" , I was like "NO THE FUCK HE AIN'T " Listen, my reason is this, I work fuckin hard to earn a dollar, 4:30 am till 8:00, and i want my nephew to know, "HIS REAL BLACK MAN UNCLE" loves him, and bought him some gifts. Fuck Santa, hard working parents should stop teaching their children that bullshit. I was taught that Christmas is a time for celebrating Jesus birth, and as a sign of respect in celebration, because Jesus recieved gifts, we give each other special gifts on this day, as a sign that we love each other, just like we love black jesus. I told my sis, I ain't given no credit to a WHITE MAN, that did absolutely nothing for my nephew, wake up black people !

( I started to take my gifts back, but I ain't like that, pissed me off)

I do not want to tell my kids any lies about Santa Claus and all that mess. If I even raise them Christian, it's going to be real Christianity which is African not European. I celebrate Kwanzaa too because it is all about good values

you hit it right on the head. i have been telling people for the longest that blacks need to kill this santa bullshit. white folks dont give us shit, so why give one that dosent exist credit for shit we did. all the kids in our family were not told about santa and still have had very enjoyable xmas.. lets wake up and kill the lunacy

Wow, your house sounds like a pretty depressing time during the holidays. Might as well tell them everyone they know and love is gonna die including them while you're at it.

I tell my niece santa is real (don't know if she still believes that though), but it's all fun. They grow out of it, just like the tooth fairy and all those good things.

And I find it pretty ironic you talk about getting rid of this non-senseSanta talk and then bring up Christianity, but I'll leave it at that.

Sounds kinda selfish, dude. First you need to respect his mother's, (your sister) way of raising her son.

Second, let the kid be a kid and enjoy the mystery, anticipation, and excitement of christmas. He'll grow up soon enough and have to deal with reality.

And finally, gifts should be given from the heart, for the recipient. The fact that you're upset that he doesn't know the gifts came from you, and not Santa is selfish of you. As long as he's happy is what's really important.

You'll have plenty of other opportunities to let him know what you do for him.

Could you please elaborate on how Christianity is African? Not trying to clown, just interested in what made you say that.

I agree with the sentiment, but you gotta respect the way she chooses to raise her child. If she wants him to believe in fictional obese White men, then that is her doing.

I sorta agree with both of you. I think if Cameo had an issue he should have talked to his sister offline...I don't think he should have challenged her in front of him. That's their house, their family, their business.

But just like birthdays or any other time you give gifts, most people put a lot of thought into gift giving and the gift is special for different reasons. Sounds like Cameo works hard to set a good example for his nephew, works to be a positive influence in this life and was excited about the gifts he took the time to choose especially for him and wanted to share that moment with him...of course he would feel slighted that she burst his bubble and reduced it to "look what Santa gave you" especially if he doesn't even believe in it. I don't think that's selfish. They easily could have let that go - all gifts at Christmas don't have to come from Santa.

Besides, Santa's gifts don't show up till Christmas morning...he doesn't send gifts by uncles in advance - if they MUST do it, they could at least get that part right or lil man will REALLY be confused ;)

The Christian Church originated in Roman Judea in the first century AD, founded on the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth believed by all Christians to be the Messiah, or deliverer king, of the Jewish people. The precise start of the Church is considered to be at Pentecost, but it is usually thought of as originating with Jesus' Apostles. According to scripture Jesus commanded the Apostles to spread his teachings to all the world.

Pulled offa Wiki. Regardless, I seriously don't know why people argue over the supposed race of the man. Seriously, I think his teachings are the more important part. And I mean, him being the son of god, I think he would kinda transcend our concepts of race. Hell, scientist say there isn't enough of a difference between humans for us to be considered different races.

Santa Claus > Saint Nicholas > Christmas > Jesus's birth > Christianity
And I specifically said I would raise MY children to not believe in lies

the first christian church was in ethopia.coptic christianity.check it out.
Exactly. Basically, the Europeans not only stole math, science, and astronomy from Africa. They also stole Christianity and revamped it, then put it out for the world in their own whitified version, complete with a blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus. So began the attempt at world domination under the cloak of religion. Did you know that Christian missionaries endorsed slavery?

Wikipedia can't tell you the truth about history...

My son HATES Santa Claus, has never liked him. Just yesterday this woman (white) said to him, "Do you know who is coming for Christmas?" He said, "Yes! My friends are coming over to my house to play!" She laughed and then said Santa is coming. My son said, "No Santa! I want my friends to come to my house!" LOL

Good for him. We have never had our daughter running around praising a fat white man for our hard work during the holidays.

You need to find another source for your history lessons, man. Whiteypedia gonna have your mind fucked up.

I told my daughter last year after I pulled out her tooth and she asked me about the tooth fairy coming.

I told her that I would give her the money for her teeth and that I as well as her family purchase her X-Mas gifts.

She had a bunch of questions and even got into a few arguments at school that I was called about but she didn't trip.

Whenever her family would say, "Santa brought you this" she would tell them that there was no such thing as Santa and thank you.

I'm not giving credit to a fat white lie (literally).

I feel the OP 100% ... it's better to be honest and realistic with the kids cuz the true meaning of the holidays is vanishing

I played the game a little with my son when he was younger but dropped the real on him early LOL

It's hard though cuz those little fairy tale things can be fun and you don't want to crush that but there is real fun they can have too lol

Any of ya'll ever read the back story on Santa Claus? That shit goes in the big book of "Things not for Kids" :smh:

My children though will know that Santa Claus is a figure, some imaginary person that people say does stuff. Their gifts come from the people who love them, and in time we will get to the Christianity part...when they are old enough to understand....

Lies lead to resentment.

I was told my whole childhood that "we are hebrew", no one bothered to fully explain to me what being hebrew entailed.

I didn't find out that we didn't celebrate Christmas until 7th grade......7TH GRADE!!!
What really confused me is that the previous year, 6th grade, I was in the hospital for about 2 or 3 weeks prior to school letting out for christmas break. I got out the hospital and got a lot of gifts for christmas. Then the following year I learn that we don't celebrate christmas?

Prior to learning that in 7th grade, I would always ask my mama if we were gonna get a tree this year (we never had a tree). She would say shit like, "we'll see" or "depend on how you act", knowing good and damn well she wasn't gon' get no tree  .

I'm sorry for going into all that, but I'm still resentful about not just that, but many other things. I was lied to.... not by society, which ironically, would be more acceptable, but by my muthafuckin mama!
Then check this out, everybody acted like I was supposed to already know we ain't celebrate christmas!!! Where. The. Fuck. they do that at?! Shit was perplexing as hell!

My point is........it may seem harmless, but it's not the size of the lie, its the premise of it.

Good for you for fucking that kid up just to satisfy your own selfish (and stupid) militancy.

Yeah, I hate to be the parent that has the kid that knows the truth... but I really wouldn't want them to be deceived about something so stupid. Kinda like how they better not teach my children the lie of Christopher Columbus.

good approach... for those who believe in the bible, keeping christmas focused on the "real" story is a good way to go.

was your mother raised as a christian or jewish? either way, we're all influenced by the commercialism surrounding christmas.

How old was the kid in question? I personally don't see anything wrong with a young kids believing in fairy tales like Santa, the tooth fairy, or anything else. When the child is of an appropriate age you can either tell them the "truth" or if they are like any other child with average intelligence they will figure it out on their own.

the way i found out there was no santa was every year around christmas time there would be a room at my aunts house that nobody could go into so one year i got into that room and saw a shit load of toys then come christmas morning i saw all that stuff under the tree so put two and two together and you have an answer.

If there is a Santa why do all the toys go back to Toys r us when they are broken instead of the north pole and why the hell doesnt Santa every bring batteries knowing that there are no stores open on christmas day except expensive 7-11.

One more thing from what i read in those encyclopedias that i had as a child St Nicholas was black.

Uhm, I think she was raised Hebrew as she has recounted a few times about when my grandmother converted and moved to Israel. Again, I'm not sure.

I bumped this thread because I hadn't checked it since

Keepin it real :lol::lol::lol:

No need to believe some WHITE MAN is going to be running around at night, dropping off gifts. If it was a BLACK MAN running around at night dropping off gifts, it would be considered Breaking and Entering.
