This might be the first cruise I ever go on

Saw reports on this. Not my cup of tea. For starters, all the slides and stuff on top make it seem like it is geared towards young families, aka people dragging along their rugrats with them.

I read an opinion that made sense to me. The writer said that the reason families with kids like cruises is because they don't have to work as hard to keep an eye on their little ones. They can let them roam free then hunt them down later when needed. Some cruises even have bracelets for parents to located kids. So the parent can lay their fat ass by the pool while their kids are wreaking havoc on the other side of the ship.

Fuck that. I ain't got time to be grabbing a misbehaving kid by the collar trying to look for their dad.
Thats not really how it works. They offer kid camps. Baby to 5, 6 to 10, 11 - 14, 15+ (I'm estimating). Kids can only sign themselves out if they are of a certain age with a parent's consent. They are not 24hr camps, you can leave your kids there if you want to go on an excursion, relax, or go clubbing. No sane parent would let a child walk around unattended with strangers and staterooms everywhere. If you do see a kid walking around alone, you just point and shake your head.

My kids loved the camps and would ask when they were going back. My wife and I got some no-kid time, its a win win.

A nude cruise will be filled with 70 yr old French grandmothers
Granny need love too, they ain't too old to get their back blown out, age ain't nothing but a number.
As long as they look like, say Seka Black

I notice a lot of negative talk from people who've never actually cruised. Yet everybody I know and those on this board who have cruised have positive things to say. Funny how that works.

Any recommendations on your favorite ships/lines?
Just depends on your age and the people you wanna be around. Carnival is definitely going to have the younger crowd. You'll probably see at least 1 fight. Royal Caribbean was cool. Our last cruise seemed a little crowded though. I didn't mind it but the older folks in the group were complaining. We just booked 1 a few weeks back for next Dec on the Virgin Voyages. It's a little more expensive than the others 1. But it's supposed to be an adult only cruise and has less people. Last 1 had over 6k. Think this 1 says it's a little over 2k people.
