So today my family and I were taking the Q32 to Manhattan. Everything was fine until this old Asian man got on and started hassling the woman sitting down to give up her seat.

Now this man did not ask nicely he straight up yelled at her asking her if she can read...

This woman was old and had trouble walking, only difference is this old man used a walker...

So let me finish, on top of yelling at this woman... he started ramming his walker on to this poor woman’s legs. He then told her to get out and go back to her country. Mind you this woman spoke clearer English than he did...
AND THENNNN he called us spicks and told us all to go back to where we came from.
He also went on a rant about how Asians are better because they pay taxes and they never go to jail. Unlike us brown people...

Before yall try to come at us for not helping, we did try. We told the man to just take the seat in front but he was adamant about hers. The woman also kept her ground so she was fine dealing with him, hence her calmness in the video.

S Yvette Rosa The seats in front of the bus are designated for the elderly and the handicapped. She is an elderly and has the right. The bus driver should have removed this man from the bus for disorderly conduct and harassment. If this old jerk has that much energy to cause this ruckus, he has enough energy to wait for the next bus.

CHICAGO — A man caught on a now-viral video verbally harassing a Latino woman for wearing a Puerto Rico t-shirt has been charged with assault and disorderly conduct, officials said Tuesday, while a park police officer who appeared to not intervene is on desk duty pending an investigation.

Video posted to social media shows 62-year-old Timothy Trybus confronting Mia Irizarry on June 14 as she was setting up a birthday party in a reserved gazebo in Caldwell Woods on the Northwest Side.

“You should not be wearing that shirt in the United States of America… Are you a citizen? Are you a United States citizen?” Trybus says in the video.

The video also shows Irizarry ask a nearby Cook County Forest Preserves police officer standing nearby for help, but he does not appear to intervene.

At a press conference on the matter Tuesday, Deputy General Superintendent Eileen Figel said the department launched an investigation into Forest Preserve Officer Patrick O’Connor’s actions on the same day of the incident.

“We have apologized personally to Miss Irizarry, refunded her money, and we continue to offer our sincerest apologies for her experience,” Figel said.

Officials saidO’Connor has been on the job for 10 years and has been disciplined before. He has been placed on desk duty pending the outcome of the investigation.

“The officer should have stepped in,” Cook County Forest Preserves Chief of Police Kelvin Pope said. “We are taking steps to ensure that our officers do everything they can to protect the safety of our patrons who come to enjoy our forest preserves.”

Additional officers eventually arrived on the scene and arrested Trybus after O’Connor called for backup. Trybus now faces charges of assault and disorderly contact.

Politicians including governor of Puerto Rico and Cook Country Board President Toni Preckwinkle have also criticized the officer’s actions, with the former calling for his firing.

“This inaction by law enforcement will not be tolerated,” said Cook County Commissioner Luis Arroyo Jr. (D- 8th).

A Chicago police officer reportedly quit on Wednesday after he was captured on video ignoring a woman’s pleas as she is harassed over her “Puerto Rico” shirt.

The Cook County Forest Preserve said that Officer Patrick Connor resigned after outrage over his inaction during the June 14 incident, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

A disciplinary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, the paper said.

“We are further addressing aspects of this incident and General Superintendent Arnold Randall will have more details at a media availability tomorrow morning,” the forest preserve said.

During the encounter, 24-year-old Mia Irizarry was aggressively questioned about her citizenship by a man who said she “shouldn’t be wearing that” — referring to a shirt that read Puerto Rico and displayed the flag.

“You’re not going to change us,” 62-year-old Timothy Trybus is heard saying in the video.

“The world is not going to change the United States of America. You should not be wearing that in the United States of America.”

Puerto Rico has been a US territory since 1899.

As the woman pleads for help from the officer, Connor appears to simply ignore her.

Eventually, more officers arrived and Trybus was arrested on charges of assault and disorderly conduct.

Maybe...I am in my feelings, but this is what it takes. Systemic change and grassroots change must work concurrently.
