If you’re attending or hosting a party anytime soon, a boozy baked good is sure to be a crowd pleaser, but making something with chocolate is sure to cease the sweet tooth of any party-goer. This is especially true if you make this one, because there’s beer in it.
Chocoholics and boozehounds, listen up! We’ve found the Holy Grail of chocolate cake recipes: a Guinness chocolate cake.

Directions
Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees C.

Place Guinness, cocoa, and butter into a saucepan and heat on a medium heat until the butter melts.

Place the sugar, eggs, and buttermilk into a bowl and beat with and electric mixer until combined. Pour the Guinness mix into the buttermilk mixture and stir until incorporated. Sift in the flour and baking soda and whisk until combined. Then, pour into a lined 20cm round cake tin and bake for 45 minutes or until cooked.

  • 1 1/2 Cup Guinness
  • 1/4 Cup cocoa
  • 200 Grams butter
  • 1 3/4 Cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 Cups buttermilk
  • 3 Cups flour
  • 1 Teaspoon baking soda
