I thought it was odd that my daughter when she was in kindergarden last year had to ride the bus with the big kids...I wondered why these little kids didn't have their own bus and since the school system said that this is the way it is...she didn't ride the bus!!! and I was just worried about the words and stuff that the bigger kids use, not even sexual experiences...as a parent, I don't think I could contain myself from not only kicking the boys ass, but the bus drivers ass too for his comments!

Here is the letter I emailed to all of them:
(I carbon copied the governor's office, my local newspapers, local radio station morning show hosts emails, and local television stations). I made sure all of the emails were in the CC box, so that the representatives could see WHO it was sent to, so they know that the media outlets have received copies. Please, copy this letter, alter it to reflect your own opinions/situation (ie, you aren't all residents of Reynoldsburg with a step daughter), and send it on. Without a massive response, there will be no action. Make your voices heard.
Dear Ohio Representatives:
I am a writing to you regarding a grave injustice, and flaw within our state's judicial system that leave our children unprotected, and violators untouchable while they are in the care of our Educators. I am appalled that this has gone on for at least 4 years, and that there has been no new laws passed to protect our children, the future of this great state.
4 Years ago, Bernadine Wade's daughter who is a special needs child in kindergarten, was repeatedly molested and raped by a teenage boy riding the same school bus she was. The teen has admitted to the molestation over a year long period, yet the school system, state courts, have found no wrong doing.
As a resident of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and having a step-daughter who is in kindergarten now, I am forced to ask some serious questions.
My questions are:
1) Why is a teenage child with a known history of violence and threats riding the same school bus as a special needs kindergartener.
2) How does the legal system currently offer no protection for children while riding the school bus.
3) If budget constraints resulted in a cut back in the number of school buses that can be used, why were security cameras and other security measures put in place to protect the children.
4) What steps are currently being taken to prevent this from occuring again, noting that nothing new has been put in force over the 4 years since this occurred.
I, along with many others will be sending letters, emails, faxes, and making phone calls, to all of our state representatives, city council members/presidents, school superintendants, as well as local media outlets, including radio, television, and newspapers, as well as utilizing online forums such as myspace to garner support for a change in this flaw in the legal system.
Please respond, and let me know what your opinions are, and what steps you are recommending to the legislature, to protect Ohio's Children.
I look forward to hearing your response,
Shane R. Teach
