This is how much restaurants really make when you order from Grubhub or Uber Eats

I wouldn't have lasted 5 hours doing my job that way. Let alone five years and over 3,000 deliveries.

When I'm late it's usually because the restaurant was late getting the order out or I'm delivering to the 36th floor of the Hyatt. Despite this I have an 86% on-time delivery rating.

I also deliver on a bike, not a car. if you've been to downtown SF you would immediately understand why.

Finally, I never EVER eat people's food! Not trying to lose a $30 an hour job over some damn french fries. Especially when I don't always have the time or resources to clean my hands.

Usually dressed in a t-shirt, sneakers, old Navy jeans and hoodie. It may not be a polo with a tie, slacks and church shoes, but after 20 plus miles riding up and down hills it's going to get grimy and sweaty all the same.

look up super 73.. They have a website and they custom things and if I'm not mistaken they originated in cali.. So the head dudes might actually can give you info straight up.. Hell if you can smooth talk your way you might can get a free promotional bike to try out since you in a certain industry and you plugging them can get them more sales.. Especially if you make YouTube vids.. But definitely look into super 73

Yeah I just signed up for their newsletter. If they have a store in the Bay Area I'm going to go there to try them out when lockdown ends.

Still not sure if I'm going to get an electric since they're harder to fix and only have a 20 mile range (I usually do that and then some in a 4 hour shift). But it's definitely worth considering. Right now bolt is renting theirs out for $30 a week to uberEats couriers so I'm going to check them out too.

Like I said they have more expensive 1s that go up to 40mph without changing.. Also remember you still can pedal, do a pedal + boost, or go full automatic ride

If you have a car and are able to drive to the restaurant to pick up your own food, it is crazy to me to use one of these services!

The amount you are charged to use the service, then having to tip, plus you don't know how clean the driver's car is and you don't know if they will go through your damn food.

I got Chinese the other day and there were Door Dash drivers EVERYWHERE waiting to take orders to customers.
Fa real

Yeah after seeing that I stopped using Grubhub and just started calling the spots directly.

But I have that option cause I'm in NY. I know a lot of people in smaller cities don't.
It also explains why the grubhub menus prices are at times higher than the restaurant online menu prices. Seems like you would have to be a chain spot and moving big volume to make it worth it.

This...

I ordered a burger from this joint for pickup thru doordash. When I got there to pick it up the owner of the place recognized me and told me flat out I paid more for my food ordering thru doordash than if I had gone to his website and placed my order there.

If the place your ordering from has a website, place it there.

If you know what you want can call it in and pick it up, then do that.

If they deliver, then that's even better. Your last resort should be uber eats, doordash, Grubhub, etc. Even when they get you with that free delivery shit you still end up paying more.

It's booming now more than ever so some spots that are popular should be making plenty of money. The ones that aren't weren't going to last anyways, delivery services should help and it helps some gain new customers who are at home, hungry and want to try something new.

I don't use em,only did it once and that was for mothers day cause I didn't have time to be searching for cakes, cards, chocolate and shit.

Sounds like you’re a delivery driver that’s always late with multiple orders driving a shitty car trying to deliver food with your shirt off and a fistful of their fries talking about “I didn’t eat it”.
Driver?

He RIDES a fucking bike with a helmet like a dweeb.

I've never been about getting anything delivered except my packages. I wouldn't trust mafakas with my food.

I have been poisoned twice at restaurants which caused me to vomit; they're trying to set up some other scheme to get me. They could've just as easily killed me if they wanted to at these restaurants.

I am loving them getting shut down and going out of business.

Why would people think their orders would be the same price? How would these delivery companies make money if the food was the same price? The delivery person got to get paid + the middleman got to get paid aka the delivery company.. That should be captain obvious.. You think you gonna order a dollar fries and somehow a driver, a company, and the restaurant gonna eat off that? Fuck outta here.. Them fries gonna be 6-7 bucks minimum

My neighbor is literally door dashing every day... these mofos got a car.. I’m like y’all some fuckin clown smh

This is true. Usually Grubhub prices are around a dollar to two dollars more than what the restaurant charges.

It is not the musician, the farmer, the restaurant or any primary producer who makes the money; it is and has always been the distributors

Also verify the phone number of your local restaurant. Some delivery services have been advertising a different number to accept your order, to prove it came from them to get the commission

You niggas are the most scary people on earth. Most Resteraunts have seals on the bag and or container the foods in and if broken it shows tampering . Second the food doesn’t even take that long to be delivered. Third I live in the city and parking is horrible, you can’t always just drive park, get out and go. Y’all have a weird mentality. You’re so paranoid about the delivery driver but will eat food cooked by other people ? So you trust them? LOL

Ya'll are tripping. They didn't sell 46 $22 meals, that total is Grubhub's overhead PLUS the cost of the meals. The restaurant doesn't feel any of that cost burden.

This.

I even pick up pizza when I order it.

Think of it this way. Suppose you own a restaurant. One day GrubHub walks up to you and says "every month we're going to give you $357 for $200 worth of food and labor. All you have to do is plug in a tablet and fill our orders."Why would you care what they make off it?

The only reason it matters now is because delivery services are the only lifeline a lot of restaurants have.

With that said, I have no problem with the city going to these companies and saying "we backed you up when times were good. Now that they're not we need you to take a little L and cap your commissions." Ultimately this works out well for the delivery industry because without these caps there might not be any restaurants left once the pandemic ends.

very intersting timing huh?

Instacart next. The price you pay for them groceries is exorbitantly high compared to if you shop it yourself.

Years ago, my wife and I decided to stop eating out completely. We got tired of giving away our hard-earned money for the purposes of convenience.

The quality of the food was usually hit or miss, while the total costs, including gratuity were not sustainable for our financial plan.

Neither one of us wanted to much spend time in the kitchen after coming home from work to prepare a meal for the family, so we started cooking food by using slow cookers and other types of devices that allowed us to come home from work and have hot and healthy meals ready to eat everyday.

For a family of four, we quickly realized monthly savings of roughly $1,000.00. We started applying these savings toward our mortgage's principal balance. Our 30-year conventional mortgage was paid off in less than 15 years.

Our weight decreased, health improved, bank account balance increased and family time together improved.

This may not work for everyone, but it worked for my family.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Saw a video of a delivery driver dipping his balls in someone's salsa. All because they were a bad tipper.

That was probably a year or 2 ago. Ain't had food delivered to my home since. Never will again - not even pizza!
