Yesterday at 2:00 PM ·Shoppers at the Branson Walmart were stunned today to see what looked like jail cells installed inside the store near the MoneyCenter. The “Security Detention” area reportedly allows Walmart employees to hold suspected shoplifters onsite until police arrive.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said one shopper who snapped a photo. “It’s like they turned part of the store into a mini jail.”
Walmart has not yet commented on whether this new anti-theft measure will be rolled out nationwide, but locals are already debating whether it’s a smart deterrent or a step too far.
