A $10,000 reward is being offered after a 7-year-old was rushed to a hospital Monday night after being shot while riding in a relative’s vehicle near Phipps Plaza in Buckhead.

The child was shot in the back of the head, police said Tuesday during a news conference.

Police confirmed that a group of men were fighting in the parking lot of the Saks Fifth Avenue store.

It’s the latest shooting in what has been a violent year for the Buckhead shopping district. Since December 2019, Atlanta police have investigated seven gunfire incidents at nearby Lenox Square. Arrests have been made in most of the shootings, including a March incident in the parking lot that killed a Tennessee man.

This used to be the classy area. Thats the rub of it.

You put up with the crap in College Park so that if you stacked your paper right, you could one day live in Buckhead. Now Niggas have turned it into Vine City-lite.....and Vine City is even nicer because of gentrification. :smh:

yeah Vine City used to be hood as fuck.
looks totally different now. and Lenox has became the new South Dekalb Mall

Shit South Dekalb be dead. Yall Buckhead folks should venture out, its safer than you think....Unless you walking/riding around looking like a sweet lick.

The issue is, none of the malls in Atlanta have stores of the quality that Lenox does except for Phipps and to an extent, Perimeter. A big contributor to this is ever since the "fuck the cops" movement, they're basically sitting on their hands and saying "well if it's fuck us, deal with the problems yourself." Many have quit and many take their time getting to calls because they're being spiteful. Bad part is, they're showing exactly what happens when they don't lock these niggas up.

ATL is weird fora new comer like me. I work in Midtown and see way more fuck shit in and around downtown, midtown, & buckhead than I do when I’m out around college park, old national, campbellton rd area. coming up on ATL hip hop I assumed those spots were hood and/or dangerous but south Fulton area has been chill no problems other than pan handlers and seen some boosters get busy in camp creek one day but that about it so far. Loving it down here but the uptick in gunplay in “nice” areas is wild

Most gunplay in those areas are from people visiting and they flock to the areas they see on tv. Especially with a lot of cities closed, we are getting a lot of bored clowns with pent up energy

Thank you for bringing me down memory lane. Just in time for Christmas.
Love to see the sight of this shit. I remember niggas was mad at me for loving it.
What the fuck were they mad for? That bitch was ignorant as shit!!! :smh: I swear we quick to defend the wrong shit. :smh::angry:

Will some of you say it's all the transplants that's in ATL now that has changed things????
Outside influences on a place that was seen as a black college town, centered around them but that had a thriving middle class, upper middle class that was black.

I can't count on my hands & toes how many people I've known that have moved to ATL

Its also institutionalize racism. Its also music glorifying violence. Its also this mantra going around that says you aint a man unless you do dumb shit. Its also people thinking its cool to act ignorant.......
