What Ive never understood was why Trump insists on tarrifs when we as a country don't make shit other people need. Atleast not enough of it. Our entire economy is consumer driven. So what the fuck he thinks is gonna happen when not as many of us can afford to spend??? The goal is to make companies come back and HQ and factory here. But in the meantime... The fuck he think is gonna happen until the companies do that??? Ifffffffff they do it at all vs waiting for him to leave office or die???

I know in the blue-er states here in the Midwest, we like to see-saw back and forth between Dems and Repubs. Michigan (Engler, Granholm, Snyder and Whitmer) and Illinois (Ryan, Blagojevich, Quinn (although Blagojevich and Quinn were both Dems) Rauner and Pritzker is NOTORIOUS for this. The Republican ideology works great in Wyoming or one of the Dakotas. Not so much in states that have larger melting pot cities.

I posted a story before drumpf's first tenure. IIRC, This guy owned a remodeling company was doing pretty well, like 7 figures annually bringing home mid six figures after expenses....

Somehow he gets a call from drumpf or his people to remodel a home of his. This job was going to be huge like 7 figures by itself. He needed to hire more people, bigger equipment.....etc. dude took out a loan using his house as partial collateral. Gets all the stuff he needs, new employees work out..... the job goes well. Then drumpf nitpicks about a few things. Ok, not really apart of the job that was discussed but he fixes them...... he submits the bill and drumpf ghosts him....... I think he waved his initial deposit because it was drumpf, "Drumpf's a billionaire he won't flake on me." Dude takes drumpf to court. Now all this time.....loan payments are due....etc.

Drumpf claims the work is shoddy and won't pay. The guy himself loses his house and his business and gets like 30 cents on the dollar for what he was owed from Drumpf.......


And they asked this dude if he was still going to vote for Drumpf...... "I'm a republican, so yeah."

This is the electorate we're dealing with. After reading that story..... Nothing surprises me anymore....... these people are truly gluttons for abuse and punishment.

I remember when Bush, Sr. said, "Read my lips: no new taxes." And everyone gushed about how powerful that line was, because Dukakis had just talked about how he couldn't promise that there wouldn't be new taxes.

And then, later on, Bush had to admit that, in order to do what they wanted, there would have to be new taxes. Any time I bring up how disqualifying it should be that he made a promise like that and then broke it, Republicans break out every excuse they can. "He couldn't have known that then..." "He doesn't control taxes..." Whatever.

We already know that they won't care about this, because the things they care about don't have anything to do with the economy. He gained more points saying he wants to deport entire families than he ever lost by telling someone prices are going up.
