This guy is a ME, he has no earthly idea about court room etiquette, and case law. The burden for this shit falls on the Prosecutions shoulders. They failed to properly prepare this witness, or seemingly any witness they've brought forth..

Further, Savage said that the state of readiness of Zimmerman’s firearm shows that he intended to cause harm that night and proves an element of criminal carelessness. Based on his analysis, the radio host declared that the jury must find Zimmerman guilty.
“I’m about to break an analysis that no one yet in the media has done, as you would expect from me — being the senior member of the American media and possibly the most insightful,” Savage said.
“White people generally think Zimmerman is innocent, except for liberals who are sure he is guilty; black people probably to the 99th percentile are sure Zimmerman’s a murderer. So where does Michael Savage fit in? I’m an independent observer and I call them as I see them,” the conservative host continued. “I think Zimmerman committed what he’s being charged with: manslaughter. He didn’t intend to kill him, but he may as well have intended to kill him.”

Savage said that the Kel Tec 9mm handgun Zimmerman carried did not have the safety applied and had a bullet in the chamber, suggesting that Zimmerman was prepared to shoot someone that night.

Finally, Savage claims that it sounds to him like Zimmerman said a racist slur under his breath as he spoke with the 911 operator. “And I’m afraid that the fact that he has this racist statement — made this racist statement on the 911 call — and that he was carry a loaded gun with a bullet in the chamber and the safety off, you have to find this man guilty of second-degree manslaughter is my opinion,” Savage declared. “Something’s wrong with this whole story.”

It sounds like he's trying to prep his audience and HOPE that the charge be manslaughter. I wonder what his motivation is to break ranks with the conservative white support base of GZ?

Generally civilians with carry permits have to have the safety on and in an even they have to defend themselves have to rack the slide back to charge the gun with one round..

Bruh I own a sig sauer p220. ..there is no safety....and I always keep one in the chamber...as long as you have a holster you re cool....
There are also many revolvers without safeties...they are always ready to fire.
The Savage audio says way more than what's printed in the article. He mentions GZ's MMA background, and questions why he didn't go hand to hand with TM. He also states that GZ was hunting (a target of opportunity) for someone to kill given the status of his weapon.
