I'm sure he did.

I understand your logic, good breakdown but the chokeslam was really the only finisher he had until recently when he started using the WMD and an occasional spear. Kane and Taker used it but their finishers would be more the tombstone and Taker had two other finishers in the Last Ride and the gogoplata (what did he call that?) choke.

I think it's the Hell Gate

I missed that comment. I did hear Cole apologizing for the "previous comments made." I was wonder who said some dumb shit. Should have figured it was AW. You can't put certain people on live tv.

they probably wouldve really been in trouble if they referenced the Aurora shootings(hopefully the"pyro malfunction" wasnt a nod to it)

and AJ would get that pantsuit ripped off

^^^ That was the 1rst time that I remember seeing AJ not wearing either her wrestling boots or her Chuck Taylors. And she was looking good as usual.

RAW was actually pretty good but i feel like Punk is going the easy route with the Rock bashing, Punk can work a storyline but if he's going to call Rock's shtick tired then please don't regurgitate the same stuff we heard from Cena. Im assuming Lawler was told to let him speak because Punk can easily be countered in an argument, and we're seriously going to have another triple threat match at SS this year:smh: They did the same damn thing in 99 & 00 with the exact same setup as well, it's like they think the audience is so young they don't remember this shit. Last night really showed that when it comes to Cena less(mic time)is more because he was actually tolerable and his match with show was decent imo.

I thought AJ was weak as a gm and i see this not lasting very long, tbh they haven't had a good gm since Bischoff was there along with Stephanie on SD back in 02-05 era. 3hrs felt like an eternity and unnecessary, especially when all they had to do was take out some of the useless storylines from the 2hrs and fill it with more wrestling to make that time slot work.

I missed that. Damn. Whoever wrote that is going to catch it.

Asbury Park. :D

I believe that was the Michinoku Driver.

'Preciate it.:D

It was very similar to the Michinoku Driver.

How the fuck is the RKO better than the Diamond/Ace Cutter?

Because the RKO has beaten people in WWE. The Ace Cutter only got mentioned because Big Johnny works for the company.

That's what they want him to say and the direction they want him to go so that's what it's going to be.
If there are two matches that if I never seen again I won't miss, it's Del Rio and Santino and Cena vs Show.

Just scanning it, it looked like a lot of filler.
They should just dump the GM character anyway. It's old and it's been done to death. At least walk away from it for a while before you go back to it, like TNA did factions for while.

The Diamond Cutter is the best of all 3 imo, i still remember the pops he used to get when he would come up with a new way to perform it.

And that's what i hate because it makes him look like a whiner and shows their laziness. They could just go off his best in the world gimmick and that would be fine, instead we get Cena promo 2.0:smh:

They need more matches because they kept showing recaps to make up for time. The gm needs to be a manager/non wrestler and not an active wrestler imo that's the only way it can work.

I remember that. I was cracking up when Kanyon was dress as DDP giving guys the cutter backstage. Kanyon came up with some great moves or moves he stole from the independent circuit.

The Diamond Cutter is the best of all 3 imo, i still remember the pops he used to get when he would come up with a new way to perform it.

While DDP was the US champ he would have a match on WCW Saturday Night reguarly, and he would pull a Diamond Cutter out of a suplex or powerbomb.

In an actual objective list, Diamond Cutter would of course get the nod. Page singlehandedly got that move over in the States, setting up guys like Orton and the Dudleys to get rich with their versions.

:yes:There's a way to do it and turn those hardcore fans who will cheer Punk over Cena against him. Fans want that guy from last summer. Just say "He's gone. I got what I wanted thanks to marks like you. Screw you."

I can't believe with all those guys on that show, they fill up three hours with recaps of shit we've already seen and not just put on more wrestling. Some weeks, more matches, other weeks, longer matches. That's been the trick with TNA and the Bound For Glory series. The matches have been longer so you don't have name guys getting beat in 3 minute matches so guys can lose without losing their heat.

Thanks for those Kanyon highlights, damaja. To this day, when me and my brother get together and talk wrestling, if we talk long enough, we will crack up about Positively Kanyon like the shit happened last week.

Checking out Punk's opening promo again uninterrupted, I like more now. His gripe is being overlooked while he's the champ, something fans have been griping about. So he gets to start behaving heelish but still have a sympathetic, almost babyface viewpoint. If they're going to turn him slowly, that's a good route.

Former ROH star, NWA tag champion and Urban Wrestling Federation champion Rasche Brown had some comments on Johnny Ace's new position

So Johnny Ace quits huh? Thank god! You have ruined our business here in the US for the last 8 years in WWE and the end of WCW. When I first met you you "seemed" trustworthy while in WCW.. I still don't know how you got the WWE job, you must have slipped Vince a micky..... You became a guy who's word meant nothing, misled me, and others along the way to bringing models, x college football players who suck at football, folks that never paid one due over guys who made this their life, respect it, work on their craft and appreciate every penny they earn... You set the biz back 15 years not in a good way and I hope the next guy/gal returns to our roots! We need fat guys, hillbillies and freaks of nature, a bunch of he man figures or skinny G.I. Joe men gets redundant after while...... Now your a "producer".....welcome to the basement my friend!

Except he didn't mention the one person who's been stealing his spotlight the entire time, he didn't get a babyface response at all and sadly they might just make him the whiny bitch heel evident by that awkwardly bad ending with AJ.

I hope they don't bring in hillbillies & freaks of nature because that would destroy the wwe, larger than life characters are fine but the freak show can't happen in todays world. As for Ace the Dudleys aired him out years ago and there have been plenty of others who have echoed these sentiments.

When he did it out of the Goldberg Suplex OMG I nearly pissed my pants during that PPV.

Since it's supposed to be a slow turn and he's going to be facing Cena and Show at the ppv, he shouldn't say anything negative about Cena directly yet. As the turn develops, you can go to that.
But Rock not being there or at least recording a video is another reason I'm against the turn, at least like it was handled. With a second week under their belt, I like the way they handled Rock less and less. They didn't need to bury Daniel Bryan to have a Rock-Punk face off and they didnt need to turn Punk to have another one at the end. The next week, Bryan continues to look bad and the number two face becomes a tweener. Shit, Sandow got embarrassed by DX and has been kicking ass ever since.

It's no secret that Ace was no Jim Ross and hasn't been the best at his position (to put it nicely). But wrestling needs the gimmick characters.
Of course the freak show can happen in todays world. Kane is still a top performer and he magically grew his hair back after years of male pattern baldness. He needs to pass some of that to Kurt Angle. The wrestlers go on top and they should but wrestling isn't wrestling without good gimmick characters.

He was not buried by the Rock Dave, it was just a fun moment for the fans and all will be fine. Sometimes you have to turn off the wrestling part of your brain and turn on the mindless fun part once in a while. The real burial was at wm 28 in that 18 second squash, luckily for him the fans rallied behind him after that and we got rid of the what chants(at least for a little while).

Kane is already established so him alternating is not a big deal, but with the rise of the UFC the whole cartoon gimmick characters are no longer needed. A wrestler with a big personality is one thing, but if they bring in a guy who carries around a baby in a back pack and sucks his thumb then you'll see how fast people shit on that. The missing thing in wrestling now is charisma not freak shows.

Both were burials, he was able to bounce back (somewhat) from Mania because fans took to him. There's no bounce back from what happened last week. He was embarassed by McMahon, then AJ, then Rock, for what? How does this help him? It doesn't. Then he gets beat by Sheamus and beat up by Kane. He just becomes another hapless WWE heel. Punk's being turned, so he's demoted and Alberto got the big SS match with Sheamus so he's not even the top heel on SD.
Daniel Bryan, like Zack Ryder, made the mistake of getting over and now it seems like he's paying for it. His match with Kane will be good but it's a step down.

There's room for both and there always has been. Wrestling isnt UFC and shouldn't try to be. The only lessons they can learn from UFC are the things UFC stole from wrestling: storytelling and characterizations. Under the Laurinaitis run, we've been inundated with fitness and underwear models with little variation of type. There's no room for a Kamala type character anymore but a Tensai could work, if booked right. It's pro wrestling. Fans are programmed to accept anything as long as it's presented well.

i just finished seeing the Smackdown spoilers for friday and all I got to say is WWE needs to just either do away with the gm alltogether, or just have 1 gm for both shows, shit makes no sense

I saw them too and I agree. I'm for doing away with it all together.

On another note I hate Heath Slater. Something about his face just takes me there. But I did love the Legends segments! I wanted that to be his gimmick forever! I would have loved to see Zeus come out..

BTW,what the fuck happened to heels like that man???

edit: as a kid when I heard Hogan tell brutus to "keep the steel temepered blades" close to the ring I was like  shit just got real..... Lmaooo.. And then Zeus in his Promo said "I am going to kill you!" (geeking so hard right now!!)

I love Heath Slater! I don't see him being pushed any higher than what he is but his segments with the legends were fun and that's better than guys like Hawkins and Reks who get squashed and no one even remembers.

Zeus sucked but it would be nice for them to have strong heels again.

And DB gets the celebrity feud with Sheen which will overshadow the SD title match, We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this on because i just don't see the burial yet.

Tensai wasn't really over the top he was just a character, you can still have those but the boggeymen type characters are over imo. Taker & Kane are the last of those breeds and if they try to make new ones now they're just going to get laughed at. Booking is not always the answer sometimes it comes down to fan interest, if the fans don't care about a gimmick then it doesn't matter how you book him.

He's got to get the Sheen feud first. Did they build to that at all Monday night? SummerSlam is a couple weeks away, so they need to get to it.
You don't see the burial but you didn't see the Zack Ryder burial this winter as I was pulling my hair out as it was happening.

It's always all about booking. I went to an EVOLVE show where they debuted "The Swamp Monster", a gimmick straight out of Memphis in 1982. It was a mess but the fan enjoyed it because it was goofy and didn't take away from the actual wrestling (he didn't wrestle, he was being restrained by "ManScout" Jake Manning).
Wrestling is best when there's something for everyone. A good company should have a good mixture of a lot of things: wrestlers, tag teams, women, midgets, gimmicks. It doesn't have to be a lot of gimmick wrestlers but there should be some to break up the monotony of one underwear model and muscleman after another. It could be a fun moment to pace out the more serious fare.
