Seeing how he potatoed Dakota Darsow several times, I don't see them using Flip Casanova just yet. One time is bad but he popped DD several times and ended up breaking his nose. He's flashy so maybe bring him back for GutCheck later on in the year. But he seriously needs someone to work with him before he hurts someone or himself.

I can't pick a winner for Roode-Aries. They could go either way and that's the best thing you can say about a ppv main event. But if Aries wins, he won't hold long. They have to get to Roode-Storm for Bound For Glory.

Lot of good options to go with for the X-Division title but with Kenny King jumping ship, he might be the favorite. At least expect a strong showing.

Styles and Daniels will make up for that shitty "I Quit" match from Bound For Glory Sunday night.

Watching Smackdown and damn, that show is the Island of Missed Pushes for real.
There's Drew McIntyre, Alex Riley, Tyler Reks, Justin Gabriel, Ezekiel Jackson. Then add a few guys that could be big but time is ticking: Cody and Dolph. Even their top guys are guys they've dropped the ball with and aren't as hot they were/should be: Alberto and Sheamus.
Bringing over Punk and Cena probably helps with ratings and ticket sales but it doesn't give these guys opportunity to move up.

cosign!

I know it's bad over there when I was looking forward to seeing what AJ was gonna do next, than actually watching the wrestling matches! Smackdown's getting pretty sad to say the least!:smh::smh::smh:

Real Talk i've never been so disinterested in the wwe than right now, this has been an all time low for me even lower than the early 90s because at least they had Bret Shawn Owen etc.

ROH-KENNY KING UPDATE

The appearance of ROH wrestler Kenny King on another television wrestling program tonight has raised speculation on his future as well as how this appearance could occur.

The contract Kenny King signed in June 2011 expired 11 days ago. Before that expiration, an agreement was reached between Kenny and ROH management for an extension of that contract, with a provision to allow him to negotiate with any other promotions so that he could evaluate his options and any potential interest in him elsewhere. When that short extension concluded he would then be free to accept an offer elsewhere, or sign another long term contract with ROH. Under this agreement, Kenny was free to negotiate but not to wrestle for another organization without ROH's permission.

When Kenny was presented with the written extension reflecting this verbal and handshake agreement, he informed ROH he was unsure if other promotions would accept the negotiation clause. He was told he could take the document to be examined by his attorney or other interested parties before executing it to be reassured any other offers would not be viewed as contract tampering. He also informed ROH that he would keep us apprised of any developments.

He contacted ROH on Tuesday July 3 to inform us that he had a meeting in Orlando on Thursday, July 5, which was within the scope of the agreement he had made. Then, early morning on July 5, he contacted an ROH official to say he would be wrestling on the Orlando event that night. He was told he did not have permission to appear live on television as it violated the agreement that had been made. His response was that the deal he had shaken hands on and agreed to in principle "seemed fair at the time", but "others" had told him it was not, so he did not intend to honor it.

Ring of Honor is disappointed that Kenny has chosen to make this decision, after the company had agreed to and followed through on everything he had asked for at the time of our negotiation. However, we consider this breach of his verbal agreement unacceptable, and regardless of his future employment status with any other wrestling company, ROH will not be doing business with Kenny King going forward.

A statement from ROH will be forthcoming regarding the future of the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Co-holder Rhett Titus remains on the active ROH roster.

Well, that's the end of the All Night Express so fans of great tag teams can add another to the list. But I hope it works out for him in TNA.

That story surprised the hell out of me because with ANX winning the title a couple of weeks back I thought there was no way that he would be around beyond the PPV. He is a good addition to the roster though it is funny how when TNA first got a TV deal King was nothing more than a jobber. Maybe Rhett Titus and him get to reunite somewhere in the future(TNA,WWE).

ROH is short on talent, cancelling shows they need to do something quick because they're a sinking ship.

Since the buyout it feels like things have gotten worse and most of it appears to be from a booking standpoint. I like Cornette but other than the Briscoes becoming more solid as characters he really hasn't put anybody else on the roster in a better position. Steen maybe but he was way over already and based on what I heard about what they had him do at the last PPV they tried to screw that slightly. And the Bravado Brothers??

ROH News: Backstage Reaction To Kenny King's Departure, Tag Team Titles Situation, More
Posted by Ashish on 07.07.2012

Some backstage ROH news...

- Much of the ROH roster feels negative about Kenny King leaving for TNA because King did have a handshake deal with the company. Some felt that King breaking his handshake deal was worse than ditching his contract offer. Many also pointed to how King leaving the way he did also hurt Rhett Titus. King knew he was leaving but still pushed for a finish at the Best in the World where he and Titus would win the ROH Tag Team Titles strongly, as oppose to the original finish where they won after coming back.

- Mike Mondo, in particular, was very outspoken about what King did.

- King's side of the story is that ROH wasn't offering him a raise or extension that would have prevented him from talking to other companies. King's camp is denying that he agreed to sign anything with ROH, though ROH sources says he did give them a verbal agreement. ROH believes King knew he wasn't going to sign a new deal but made it seem like he would. Dave Lagana was apparently instrumental in getting King back into TNA.

- The ROH Tag Team title situation will be resolved at the 8/4 TV Tapings in Baltimore.

I don't think it's about that anymore with Bruno. In fact, WWE today looks a lot like WWWF when Bruno was champ, just without blood. He was SuperCena first. At this point, I think he's dug his heels in and Vince has dug his heels in. I do wonder though how he would respond if Vince called him.

I don't think it's that. VJM and VKM dicked him around on money and VKM used his son to get him back into wrestling and never pushed the son right.

Bravado Bros. hasn't been on ROH TV in a while. I like Cornette also but ROH need to introduce young talent that are willing to stay for 6 months to a year. We know WWE and TNA going to be in a bidding war for The Briscoes if things don't turn around. ROH lacks tag teams.

As for TNA there roster is bigger than ever this where a syndicated or a "B" show is needed on Spike, immediately. Why can't Impact over come that dreaded 1.0 rating?

ROH does but it doesn't help when you see them do nothing with Kyle O'Reilly, when the Bravados disappear, when both Mike Bennett & Tomaso Ciampa get built up for nothing. And then seeing established vets who were waaaaay over like El Generico & Colt Cabana appear to get run out of the company. Talk is that the WWE tried to contact both The Briscoes and Adam Cole a little while back.

I think that the young talent may prefer to get on Evolve or Dragon Gate USA with Gave Sapolsky

True If Jim Cornette can't fix it it's a done deal!

It's gotten worse under Cornette. It seemed as though the company did better under the booking of both Adam Pearce and Delirious than it is under Cornette. The guy can't even give us good managers anymore. Truth Martini was never a manager prior to being brought in, Brutal Bob is comically bad and Prince Nana isn't nearly as effective as he used to be.R.D. Evans is good

Anti climatic title changes, things going in random directions, etc

Good PPV by TNA. With Aires as champ will Impact ratings rise?

It all depends on how effective Aires is as champ and if he's ready to be "the man" I remember the first title reign that Randy Orton had, it was only for about a month or two because he just wasn't ready for the big time yet...hopefully that won't be the case with Aires

I don't think it's that. VJM and VKM dicked him around on money and VKM used his son to get him back into wrestling and never pushed the son right.

He did book his son right, he was no better than pretty decent and was placed properly as a midcarder.

^
probably after roode invokes his rematch clause on thursday(and ya'll know he will)

 They could hold it off until the next ppv, giving themselves another main event and extending this great feud another month.
I didn't think Roode would keep the belt all the way to BFG but I'm pleasantly surprised that Aries is the guy to knock him off.
Welcome back Jesse Sorensen. That story could be money.

Right,

Now can Hogan and Bischoff keep from fuckin it up? Not ging to hold my breath.

The best thing they've done is take lesser roles on tv.

Deltronz should be happy soon since Sara Del Ray has signed with WWE and is just waiting for her medical tests to come back. Take her, Kharma, and Beth Phoenix and give Divas matches more than 2 minutes and women's wrestling might make a strong comeback in WWE.

That's great to here. Another female who can actually wrestle. She definitely isn't the stereotype but the one time I saw her in person at a ROH show there was somebody who loved her thick ass. Interesting that now the WWE has signed pretty much all of the main people involved in the King of Wrestling group.

Vince may not be watching but somebody is watching ROH. Too bad they don't have them working together.

I don't think Bischoff is there anymore.

He is, he's just doing the one thing he is good at and that's producing.

Austin Aries is a great story and really makes TNA vastly different from WWE in a very important way. Aries walks in with no poltical allies. He wasn't on Hogan's Australian tour a couple years back, he wasn't a buddy (or son) of Eric's, and in fact, had a spotty relationship with TNA from his last bad run. But they brought him in, he worked his ass off and got over hugely and they rewarded him with a strong push to the top title. That is so different than how WWE has handled at least a half dozen guys there right now who did the work but got no reward and have become jobbers.
If I was a free agent wrestler or a guy who's contract with WWE or ROH was coming up that would make them very attractive even if I had to take a pay cut.

I always thought TNA would appeal to wrestlers that had money and wanted a lighter schedule. I could see Orton going there.

They need another TV show though.

theyll probably bring her in as someone who crazier than AJ

It's probably only a matter of time before the WWE raids them some more. Mike Bennett and Michael Elgin both seem to fit the WWE mold pretty well and maybe Tommaso Ciampa.

Damn, no more TNA/Impact on DirecTV (along with over 20 cable channels)

As of right now, I don't see shit on Spike TV channel but a mix channel and a note saying Viacom forced DirecTV to remove all their channels!! BASTARDS!!:angry::eek::eek::angry::smh: :smh::smh:

I dunno but this shit is ridiculous!

:angry::angry::angry:

At issue is money.
DirecTV has said Viacom wants 30 percent more for its channels — equal to about $1 billion. But it's not worth the price increase, said Chang due to "the fact that the ratings for many of their main networks have plummeted and much of Viacom's programming can be seen for free online."

Caught in the middle are millions of subscribers who tuned into some of their favorite channels last night and found instead a video of DirecTV Chief Operating Officer Mike White telling subscribers why Viacom channels have been dropped.

The channels dropped were: Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, VH1, CMT, Logo, Spike, TV Land, MTV2, VH1 Classic, Palladia, Nick Jr., NickToons, TeenNick, Nickelodeon West, Tr3s, Centric, MTV India, Nickelodeon HD, Comedy Central HD, MTV HD, BET HD, VH1 HD, CMT HD and Spike HD.

No word on if or when the issue will be resolved.:smh::smh::smh:

With the market being so competitive with Dish, U-Verse, and the various cable networks, Direct won't be able to hold out without those channels. Fuck TNA, they lose some of the highest rated, most popular shows on cable without the Viacom channels like The Daily Show, Tosh.0, Mob Wives, and Basketball Wives.
I get Direct's point but there has to be a middle ground where they could have met Viacom.

Former WWE creative members Seth Mates (@sethmates) and Chris Gough (@kcmetropro) appeared on The LAW's 'Review a Wai' podcast to chat about the infamous Katie Vick angle that took place on the October 21, 2002 episode of Raw. On the program, a vignette was shown of Triple H, dressed as Kane, simulating mock sex with a mannequin in a casket. Excerpts from the interview are as follows:

The genesis of the Katie Vick storyline: "At this point, (Vince) wanted to start having a lot more backstories to wrestlers. He didn't want it just to be like, 'Oh, I wanna beat you up. You stole my girlfriend, let's have a match.' He wanted it to be more like, 'I wanna know who every character is.' Their backgrounds, and a lot of that. You've seen through the years of wrestling, he's gone up and down with this kinda stuff.

"It was just a matter of, 'We want to know more about Kane. We know about Paul Bearer and the burning angle, and the Undertaker scenario, but we don't really know much more about him. So let's spend the last ten minutes of this conference call discussing Kane's background and coming up with a way to bring Kane back,' because he had torn his bicep, and he was coming back to TV. It started off with us pitching ideas about how to bring Kane back."

Vince McMahon's pitch: "At the end of the call, Vince basically made the call to say, 'Why don't we make Kane...why don't we say he's a murderer, and he's murdered somebody in his past?' It sort of formulated into what you saw. This was Vince's seed.

The funeral home shoot: "The necrophilia thing had only really begun in that vignette. That vignette was done by Stephanie (McMahon), Vince, and Bruce (Pritchard), and I believe it was mostly Stephanie; Stephanie Triple H, and Vince were the ones behind that. This wasn't discussed; Triple H was involved the whole time, so no one had to explain it to him. He was obviously almost part of the family at the point, he knew everything that was going on. Kane, on the other hand, he was getting a little bored with his direction. He had the big start in '97, and it ran its course. He wanted to change it up a little bit, so they decided they were gonna push him to go for a title run eventually, for the World Heavyweight Championship against Triple H in October. It was a situation where he knew it was going to be a big push, he's taking on Triple H.

"The angle was basically, 'There's a backstory here where he's gonna start picking on you for your girlfriend dying, and that he's gonna start acting like you killed her, and he's gonna start playing more emotional mind games with Kane.' That was the pitch, with Triple H and Kane. There was no, like, 'Hey, by the way, he's gonna say that you banged your ex-girlfriend when she was, uh, dead.' That was never even talked about until the vignette aired, and it really wasn't talked about after that again. That wasn't an idea by a writer, that wasn't pitched to anybody. That was the vignette that was of the sick minds of the McMahon family that was taped in the funeral home that night.

I remember reading back in 2002 that after that funeral video aired the only people laughing in the back were HHH & Vince:smh:
