NEW JACK KOs FORMER WWF STAR LAST NIGHT
by Mike Johnson @ 8:57 PM on 2/22/2012

In a story that has been the most talked about subject among Florida independent wrestlers today, former ECW star New Jack knocked out former WWF star Brian Knobbs of the Nasty Boys backstage following an independent event in Florida last night.

As the story goes (and I heard this from two performers who were both backstage via email), Knobbs entered the locker room of a FUW event at Gasoline Alley in Largo, Florida following the event. Knobbs, always known for having a pretty big mouth and opinion, loudly started telling the locker room how bad they sucked and didn't "get the business".

For a reason I can only describe as suicidal, Knobbs turned his attention to former ECW star New Jack and made the same claims to Jack. According to both performers I heard from, Jack punched Knobbs in the face, knocking the former WWF star into a wall.

From there, Knobbs went back after Jack, who I was told "easily" got the better of the fight. Knobbs grabbed at Jack and tried to pull him towards the ground in something described to me as "like a MMA guard position, but not really done right", which allowedJack to kick Knobbs in the face, knocking him clear out in front of the locker room.

Obviously, not a great night for Knobbs.

I just want to take a moment and give some praise to Carlos & Hugo. I have no idea what they're saying but they make everything sound so hype, just listen to them as they show Rock & Austin backstage:yes:

Carlos and Hugo sound like they were a great team.
On top of that, their table was the one that got fucked up every other show.:D

Yeah it's funny when you think back how everyone went over to the spanish announcer table and destroyed it. Shit was funny when they started taking off the monitors and the spanish announce team would take off.

I got a real question maybe its been answered and I just didn't see it. Why is the WWE so scared to let Cena lose?? 2 on 1, 3 on 1, Nexus on 1 he doesn't lose that's bad booking!!!

To back up your point, Cena has never had more of the audience behind him than when he lost to Barrett and was the underdog in the Nexus feud. But they blew it.

One year ago, Ezekiel Jackson was beating Kane and the Big Show. Last Friday, he lost to Jinder Mahal and Monday he lost to David Otunga.:smh:

And having the WWE champ wrestle the World champ isn't so special since this is twice in a month they've given this match away.

From NoDQ
The angle with Eve Torres and John Cena at last night's RAW Supershow was done to get fans to cheer Cena before he did the big promo against The Rock towards the end of the show.

:smh::lol:

Cena and fan re-tweet

John Cena re-tweeted a fan's comment predicting what The Rock's promo on next Monday's RAW would consist of:

"prediction 4 rock promo - 1999 catchphrase, insult Cena, catchphrase, sniff the air, eyebrow, say electrify - leave till mid march"

Cena added:

"Im pretty sure that's close to accurate. Prove me wrong movie star. Ill be waiting in nike town."

The Rock Tweet
@JohnCena @WWE The truth comes out this Monday. John you have no idea.

Can't wait till monday

WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Interim General Manager of Raw John Laurinaitis's campaign to not only become the permanent Raw General Manager, but take over Theodore Long's job as General Manager of SmackDown is expected to culminate with a winner takes all match at WrestleMania 28 in Miami, Florida.

Dave Meltzer reports that a Laurinaitis captained team of heel WWE stars will likely face a babyface team captained by Long at the pay-per-view extravaganza with the winning captain becoming General Manager of both Raw and SmackDown. There is also talk that the bout would replace the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

man they keep shitting on the Divas for some reason, at least TNA do give theirs some screen time so I can get my weekly Velvet Sky fix

A match involving the WWE Divas is expected to take place at WrestleMania XXVIII although some company officials are against utilizing the women for the sake of it since the affair would take away time from the bouts people are most interested in seeing.

It's also been suggested as the pre-show dark match.

So they think we want to see Team Laurinaitis vs Team Long but not a possible Beth Phoenix vs Kharma match? So it's not just Vince that's fucked up.
After reading that, I hope they don't have it because if they do, they'll give it 5 minutes including intros.

This is one of the most top heavy WMs ever.

Cody Rhodes, the guy who was going to bring prestige back to the Intercontinental title, is doing nothing. He might wrestle Big Show and he might not, depending on the Shaq thing.

Jack Swagger, the US champ, is doing nothing.
The Colons, the tag champs, lost to Truth and Kofi, who then lost to Swagger and Ziggler, so that's all a mess.
Beth Phoenix didn't wrestle Monday or Tuesday (unless I ffed through it by mistake) but the fucking Bellas did.
There are no interesting mid card feuds even building to Mania.

The top four matches should be good to great but it's going to be a long 4 hours this year.

So let me get this straight MITB which is a guaranteed crowd pleaser will get scrapped to make room for a gm match:hmm: We don't need a crystal ball to know that the crowd will shit on this clusterfuck match and have the wrestlers in the back hanging their heads in shame. A potential Bet vs Kharma/Trish would be great, but im starting to think Vince doesn't want womens wrestling because TNA does it so well. Whatever TNA does well(Tag Team & Womens matches)Vince always goes against it, because he can't admit he's wrong when he said those matches don't draw. The Attitude Era was full of tag team & womens matches and the crowd loved them.

Side Note: The analyst on ESPN just said Jeremy Lin will be going up against the NWO of the NBA(Heat)

I agree with your assessment though. I think she has the potential to be good but she needs a lil' more seasoning before she's "just right." Fortunately she's farther...further(?) along than the women not named Beth, Natalya and Kharma. @ "Like a MMA guard position, but not really done right."

You'd think that someone in management would realize that a strong lower & midcard would increase ratings and buy rates but apparently that makes too much sense.

Man kill that noise. The E needs to do the MITB PPV so they can give the briefcases to 2 of their future stars so they can book them to look weak-as-fuck and then act surprised when they don't get over.

I wonder if the Spanish commentators say "here we go with this bullshit again" in Spanish every time a pair of wrestlers head to their table

I feel like we just saw a team Raw vs team Smackdown match, or maybe it just feels that way because it's so freaking predictable.
It will probably be centered around 2 or 3 big spots, shots of skateboard Johnny and Teddy Long outside the ring looking nervous, and ends with everyone hitting their finishing move up until Orton laying someone out with a RKO and the pin.

The Heat as the nWo. I likes.:D

I agree that Vince seems to hate or at least underestimate women's wrestling and tag wrestling but I doubt it has anything to do with TNA. Vince just doesn't watch anything else. He didn't watch WCW or ECW so I know he doesn't watch TNA. He doesn't think those things draw (despite plenty of evidence that they do) and prefers pushing single wrestlers that have a "certain look" (White, muscular). With no one to fight for them, those divisions suffer.

You'd think that someone in management would realize that a strong lower & midcard would increase ratings and buy rates but apparently that makes too much sense.

Man, I remember in the heat of Dusty and friends against the Horsemen, Crockett had a midcard feud that was putting asses seats and was almost as big: "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs Paul Jones' Army.

I agree with you and dirty. MitB is a great way to elevate a younger guy and with Mania having the largest ppv audience, it would be better than having an individual ppv.
At the same time, it is a popular match so I get why they give it it's own show.

ECW was always a entryway to the WWF i remember Chyna mentioning it in her book(when she was still sane). Do you remember how ECW would "invade" the WWF in the 90's? Vince and Paul have a loooong history together and you better believe he was keeping up with WCW because it would've been stupid of him to not keep up with the competition.

No. People under him kept up, Vince lives in a bubble and is only concerned about trying to make WWF/E anything but a wrestling company (unless it suits him to make it a wrestling company). The reason he brought in Steve Austin as "The Ringmaster" was because he never saw him in ECW and thought he was a technical wrestler, never knowing he could talk. When he brought in Jericho, it was because Vince Russo talked him into bringing Chris in, not because he thought he was great doing "Monday Night Jericho". It's a well known weakness I think detracts from the idea that he's a "genius".
Now Eric Bischoff, that dude watches everything.
I don't think Chyna was ever sane. We just didn't know how fucked up she was until she wasn't under Vince's and Titan's protection anymore.

Dude you really think Vince never kept up with the competition? Im sure he had people keep a closer eye on them, but Vince was well aware of the other 2 companies. Vince may try to act like he doesn't care about other companies or peoples opinions, but Foley has mentioned before that he would see Vince reading stuff from Dave Meltzer. He was also friends with Ted Turner and was pissed that no matter what he did he was getting beat by him. Im sorry Dave but to say Vince had no idea about what was going on is completely wrong, Vince's flaw is that he wants wrestlers to succeed based on his ideas and not other peoples ideas.

I agree Vince isn't stupid he observe the old territorial style from working with his dad. When he was able to run WWF on his own he offer better pay that the other feds couldn't pay. He made the WWF a national brand by linking up with NBC, CBS, MTV and USA network.

Also Vince let go of people who he knew was trouble to the competition. Eventually most did return back to WWE. Vince might be a tad bit out of touch at times but not dumb.

I'm not telling you what I think, I'm repeating what several people who have worked for Vince have said. Vince knew Nitro was beating him and that they were using "his guys" to do it but Vince Russo was able to sell McMahon on "Attitude" like it was his own idea because he hadn't seen ECW. He used ECW as a place to send guys who weren't getting over to get a new gimmick and come back (like Al Snow). But ECW was much more of a gateway to WCW because Eric watched the show and cherry picked the best talent.
Chris Jericho wrote that it was Russo that brought him in and pushed him but once Russo quit, McMahon had no idea what to do with him because he didn't know anything about him except what Russo told him. How does a guy not know Chris Jericho, who had some of the best segments on Nitro during his heel run if he's watching the show?
The only way TNA or ROH get his attention is putting on a Monday night wrestling show.
With Vinnie Mac, reading Meltzer meant he wanted outside feedback on his shit, not what happened somewhere else.

For mrdiego and any other Cena fans in this thread, I will give credit where it's due: that was the best Cena promo since last summer.

We're coming from 2 totally different sides here, I agree with what you said because as you mentioned wrestlers have confirmed this. My point is Vince isn't completely clueless aloof at times absolutely, but clueless no because that's bad business.

Check out this Flair/Rhodes interview:yes::lol::yes:
