I was wondering if they would do something about the gm shit myself. Also I wonder if HHH will hold Cena responisble for having to give Vince the boot. A grudge between Cena and HHH would give someone else some shine with the title but Miz dosen't need it again right now and neither does Rey. A HHH & Cena feud would honestly be bad for bussiness. Last thing they need is HHH taking up a rivalry when someone not established could use the rub.

Hopefully were get to see a new WWE title nexy week. Please no more spinner titles.:puke:

Actually I'm wondering not if there will be beef between Cena and HHH but between the new boss, HHH and CM Punk when he returns especially with Punk calling him a doofus and his wife,Stephanie an idiot. It could lead to a co main event at Wrestlemania with Punk facing HHH.

Slow down on trumpeting the new regime. WWE is publicly held so if there is a legit changing of the guard, that's where they'll announce it, not on Raw. Until then, this is an angle and a good one.

Don't count out Sin Cara just yet. With WWE, everything is wait and see.

I don't think they're bringing Sin Cara back.
Takes too much work just to put together a match for him (lighting, spots, etc).
I have a feeling with this "new regime", they're gonna introduce a new belt and get rid of this spinning belt piece of shit they've been using

NoDQ.com > WWE > News on Vince, Punk Shirt Selling on eBay
Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/20/2011 at 11:07 AM

- Devin sent the following: WWE's house show in Reno, Nevada on August 7th, 2011 has been canceled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. This is the third time since fall of 2010 that a WWE event in Reno got axed.

- Some of the commemorative CM Punk t-shirts that sold out at Sunday's WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view are going for over $500 on eBay this week.

- The long-term plan for Vince McMahon to lighten his WWE duties in real life was for his current run to end around WrestleMania 28, with Triple H taking over the day-to-day activities. Even then, Vince will still oversee everything and won't be going anywhere.

This marks the fifth straight year that Vince has written himself off WWE TV in some form or fashion. In 2007 he was blown up in a limousine, 2008 saw the RAW set fall on top of him, in 2009 he sold WWE to Donald Trump in the storylines but still appeared some and last year, he was beat up by Nexus and put in a coma.

He'll be back on tv at some point. He's an attention whore.

Not a bad idea. I see him coming back as the "real" WWE champion by Rumble.

But he's already over with the audience (have you heard the ovations he's been getting on SD and at MitB?) and he's huge in Mexico, their hottest market. The only way they don't bring him back is if they have something else in mind with Averno or someone else.
Really, how much can his stuff cost compared to renting ADR a luxury car every week, a couple they've destroyed?

Cara is Rey,s replacement. If anyone thinks that HHH first big signee is just gonna get tossed better think again. He's not the first to fell the wellness policy and won't be the last. I'm sure his undefeated streak is gonna come to a end when he returns at the hands of Sheamus, but other than that I don't expect much

Oh dude, I was just saying for TV & the Show... Dude, I just wanted to see something new & different.. that's it

Smackdown is never a good barometer to measure overness because most of the crowd noise is piped in.

Smackdown may not be a good barometer for the average fan cause they can pipe in crowd noise but WWE officials get to hear his reactions live just like we get to when he shows up on Raw or at pay per views.

PPV crowds and TV crowds are completely different. I can give you a perfect example of phony over, both del rio and mcintyre were both booed heavily on SD but the moment they went to raw they can't seem to get a decent reaction.

I'm aware and I can tell the difference. Cara is over with that audience. In the build up to MitB, when he pointed to the briefcase, there was a loud, high pitched cheer. He's slowly filling in Rey's spot. He doesn't talk and he isn't as good a worker but he's on the way.

Gotcha.
I hope this doesn't mean HHH will be on tv a lot.

I have noticed a subtle shift in booking style lately. It's not just Punk that was booked as strong but Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes are getting strong heel pushes as well. Of course, there's the flipside with R-Truth as a comedic heel and Christian isn't being presented as strong as Randy Orton.

Del Rio and McIntyre haven't been pushed as well on Raw as they were on SD. SD gets about half of Raw's audience so a lot of those fans don't know these guys that well. I wasn't happy with how they were pushing ADR as Mania approached but he was the top heel on that brand and when they had SD in Charlotte, he was the most booed person by far.
If John Morrison wasn't hurt, Del Rio would have had Rey to work with for a couple months to get him over as a major heel like they did on SD.

Let me stop you right there because raw & smackdown have the same audience. Don't let the brand splint fool you into thinking people actually took sides, because as you can see in this thread we all watch both shows.

They have the same audience because SD fans mostly watch Raw but nearly half of Raw's fans do not watch SD and that's been a trend for several years. Raw has their own fans. When they're drawing high 3s and low 4s, NXT was drawing 1s and SD was drawing high 1s and low 2s.
We watch both shows, we're hardcore fans. We're in the minority.

You have to remember there are two major differences between the Raw and Smackdown viewing audience:

first it comes on Friday and usually most people go out somewhere on Friday nights plus it comes on the fucking Sci Fi network and secondly it's taped on Tuesday so why watch on Friday when you already know what's going to happen on Tuesday night, for example, this Friday Daniel Bryan announced he's cashing in his MITB at Wrestlemania so why waste time friday night watching it when you already know. The brand extension needs to be scraped. There was once a time when superstars use to show up on both shows anyways

The brand extension was a good idea and still is. If it wasn't for the brand extension, Cody Rhodes would not be getting the push he's been getting. Having two shows with their own titles and angles gives more guys chances to shine that wouldn't exist if SD became "Raw Part Two".
Plus it gives them more time to carry out storylines and angles. You think you're burnt out on Cena now, can imagine if they hadn't done the brand extension and we had to watch "Super Cena" two times a week? It would really then just be the Cena and Orton show.

Who has the BE helped really? I mean the wwe built more guys during the attitude era because they gave people a chance, now they've diluted their roster by dividing talent which really hampers match ups and now you essentially have 1 major star and a bunch of mid-carders. When it comes to having 2 titles i use the old nfl analogy for qb's and that's if you have 2 quarterbacks then you have no quarterbacks. As far as burnout goes if they got rid of the BE which im in favor of them doing, then you wouldn't have to have every wrestler show up on both shows all the time. Before the extension we were getting matches like HHH vs Stone Cold, thanks to the extension we've been treated to main events such as Batista vs Great Khali or Cena Vs Orton XII.

And it would be worse under one brand.
I loved the Attitude Era too but it's over and it's never coming back. Those writers are gone and they were replaced with far less capable writers and a new mentality of watered down bad PG booking. Plus during much of the true Attitude Era, they only had one show and a monthly ppv. SD started in 99 and the BE started in 2002 after the deaths of WCW and ECW.
Without the brand extension it all becomes one show again. So it would be Cena and Orton on top as the faces with Miz and ADR as the heels. Rey, Christian, Sheamus, maybe Barrett and Riley in the middle and you would get those same guys all the time. Right now SD has Orton on top with three top heels for him with it being inevitable that he faces Rhodes and Dibiase, Big Zeke and Daniel Bryan as the number two faces (obviously Zeke's being de-pushed like they do everybody) and the Usos getting time with
Slater and Gabriel. There is no way Rhodes gets all this time under one brand when they would have to put so much time on the top of the card.
On Raw, Cena has/had Punk, ADR, Truth with Rey as the number two face and Miz the top heel. Somebody's going to have to make room for Morrison when he comes back.
There's no way all these guys get time to shine under one brand. Even with two brands they have talent just sitting around not being used (DH Smith, Broadus Clay, Tyson Kidd, Beth Phoenix) and that would only get worse without the BE.

They have one major star on each roster because of their own failings that have nothing to do with the brand extension.Sheamus is over but he could be twice as big if they didn't decide to bury him at the whim of Kevin Dunn,Del Rio could be more over,Kofi could be bigger but they continually devalue him,Dolph,Drew McIntyre and others could be bigger if they chose place some emphasis on them as opposed to focusing on Cena and his match with random guy who they don't even build to look like a credible threat, divas matches focusing on divas who can't wrestle and corny comedy segments.Having things as 1 big show done twice a week wouldn't help only give them more time to do the crap that we hate. You think that Mark Henry would be getting his current push if they weren't 2 shows instead of one?You wouldn't see the Usos on TV or Dibiase or Evan Bourne for that matter.
Of course if it was one show you wouldn't have to worry about Cena vs Orton XIII for about 4 months. In the meantime you'll just be stuck with Cena and Orton vs Random heels every week before they get the tag belts and get to bury that division further into the ground. All you have to do is pay attention to all the unneccessary crap that we have to endure during most WWE PPVs nowadays. An Obama impersonator chilling with Booker T. :smh:

So what's the point of the BE if they're still having the same problems? I agree the AE is gone but the split only worked between 02-04, when Rock & Austin decided to call it quits they never recovered. Look to this past raw as an example of how the split doesn't change much, they had the perfect opportunity to elevate 2 guys (kofi, truth) and at the end of the day they decided to give us rey vs miz 2 guys who are already over:smh:

Now you don't really expect them to put two brothers in the main event to face off for the WWE title do you?

The point is to not make things worse. The current state of WWE is: It's been better and it's been worse but it would get a whole lot worse without the BE than it would get better.

Now you don't really expect them to put two brothers in the main event to face off for the WWE title do you?

Sadly no, but my point is the moment they could've pulled the trigger they decided to go with the same old shit. I also believe the lack of title matches hurt because it makes every show feel the exact same, it makes me appreciate booker t more when he defended the title every week on nitro:yes:

The point is to not make things worse.
And a typical 15min cena promo followed by 2min matches followed by 1min diva matches and finishing off with lame skits aren't making things worse?

We need some more responses so we can hurry up and move to the next page because im tired of scrolling down to read the newest post:lol:

Especially those two, who they've shown they have little to no confidence in.
Kofi reminds me of Rick Steamboat sometimes and if they wanted to, they could have pushed him into serious top contention. Those matches he, Swagger, and Dolph were having on SD last year would have made other guys in different eras. But in WWE, they don't mean shit and they just changed shows and got less time to work and SURPRISE! SUPRISE! they aren't as over on Raw.

:lol::lol::lol: Oh shit, I have thought that in this thread a few times. Glad to see I'm not alone.

Booker had to defend the title every week because he was a new champ and they wanted to make him legit.
I don't think they should have Cena/Orton or any world champion defend too often on tv. They should have the IC, tag, and US titles defended on tv more often just to let people know the titles still exist and bring some prestige back to them. And when they do, give them a lot of time. That would mean less time for those poorly acted backstage skits (of course that goes for TNA too). When the world champion defends on tv, it should be a big deal.

That would not end with the end of the BE. In fact, it would mean we sit through it twice a week.

Now ain't that worse?:D

Nothing wrong with that have orton or cena ever looked legit in any of their runs? With cena they're going the hulkamania route which was fine in the 80's but it's 2011, and orton to me is like ddp when it comes to his title runs.

Yeah. Orton and Cena are the top guys and everyone accepts that. When Booker first won the title, he was coming off a bad period of feuding with his brother and with Tony Norris (the former Ahmed Johnson) over the letter "T" (yeah, a Russo idea: Booker T vs. Big T for the letter "T". How does this fucking guy have a job?). So Booker had to wrestle and beat Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, and Goldberg to let people know he was on their level.

I agree on Cena and how they're obviously going the Hulkamania route except it's not the 80s two ppvs a year or the 90s with 5. The match he had with Punk, he needs to try to have every month. He and Truth could have had a better match. He and Miz could and have had better matches than the Mania match.
The really fucked up part is how Orton, who is a better wrestler, is having even worse matches than Cena. He needs to thank God (and Vince) that's he's spent most of this year he's had Punk and Christian to carry his ass. It's going to be downhill after SummerSlam unless Mark Henry really puts on his working shoes and Orton stayes motivated.

edit:
New page, d. You're welcome :D

So you're saying that the brand extention is worthless because the WWE fails to push many talented guys.Would you prefer that the issue be even bigger because if you're saying the separate brands is a waste than that's essentially what you're saying. The WWE continually drops the ball and making it one big show would only make those things continue because if it wasn't two different shows that emphasize two different things(skits and promos vs wrestling) this thread would not even exist and we'd probably all by trying to trade ROH and Chikara tapes amongst the 5 or 6 of us that still bother with and acknoledge wrestling.

commander beat me to it but here's what I found on Punk confronting HHH at Comic Con

MORE DETAILS ON PUNK AT COMIC-CON
by Mike Johnson @ 3:54 PM on 7/21/2011

IGN.com featured a brief article on CM Punk crashing the WWE panel at Comic-Con, noting that he arrived with a bullhorn and said that if someone wanted to challenge him for the WWE title, they should come to Chicago, not hold a tournament for a new champion. He then demanded to know why Zack Ryder isn't featured on Raw. Triple H told Punk there was a new regime and he should call them.
I was told that the angle got over with the WWE fans who were there but some of the comic fans that didn't get the scenario were wondering what the hell was going on.

WWE had cameras present for the panel.

here's the first video

WWE Champion C.M. Punk showed up at the San Diego Comic Con and did an angle in which he confronted Triple H. Brian Gewirtz, Rey Mysterio, and Bret Hart were also part of the panel. For more information, read IGN.com.

Powell's POV: The story notes that Punk asked why Zach Ryder wasn't on TV. IGN is teasing video footage of the angle for later today.

Like others had said earlier, I'm now looking for a C.M. Punk vs HHH championship match at Wrestlemania for that ugly spinning belt that Punk got.
