I wonder what kind of tribute the wwe will have for Macho Man on Raw even though him and Vince werent on the best of terms.

I'm sure they will show his picture at the beginning of the show but that's about it.

They've tried this with the X-Division at least twice already once with Team 3D and another time with Kevin Nash competing in the X Division. They've pretty much killed Abyss with the dumbass storylines and I doubt that anyone will benefit from this. If they simply gave the X Division time with some compelling rivalries they could get themselves over in the ring.

They can't find a decent storyline for Abyss so they give him the X-division title.

Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 05/20/2011 at 01:40 PM

From WWE.com:

"WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of one of the greatest Superstars of his time, Randy Poffo, a.k.a. Randy “Macho Man” Savage. Poffo was under contract with WWE from 1985 to 1993 and held both the WWE and Intercontinental Championships. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. We wish a speedy recovery to his wife Lynn. Poffo will be greatly missed by WWE and his fans."

Damn its like they didn't even give a fuck about what to put in this statmement before releasing it.

You ain't lying man! My mother fucking newspaper could write a better tribute to the Macho Man than that shit! Vince McMahon be on some straight bullshit!

He should at least put on some sort of segment on RAW and Smackdown highlighting Savage's best stuff and a couple of wrestlers talking about their best memories of The Macho Man! Damn, that's totally fucked up!:smh:

WWE Possibly Paying Tribute To Savage

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

There are conflicting reports on whether WWE will honor Randy Savage next week on television following his tragic passing Friday morning in Seminole, Florida.

According to one source, the production team was ordered to work on a video piece honoring the wrestling legend for inclusion on next week’s television programming.

Another source noted that the organization would pay tribute to him in some form at this Sunday’s Over the Limit pay-per-view event in Seattle, Washington. However, they now say that no tribute is planned for Savage, at least for Sunday. As of now, something is expected to air Monday on RAW.

Meanwhile, WWE.com posted a video dedicated to the wrestling legend’s memory, as well as several photos and clips highlighting his extravagant career. The video package is from WWE’s 2009 DVD release Randy Savage: Macho Madness.

Savage died Friday morning in Seminole, Florida after a head-on collision with a tree. Lanny Poffo, his brother, says the accident occurred after Savage suffered a heart attack while driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler. We’ve also learned that Randy was pronounced dead before his arrival to the hospital. He was 58 years old.

so Cena gets whooped on by two muthafuckas for 20 minutes and don't quit, Miz gets hit with a belt a few times put in a submission move and quits with the swiftness................................way to go. Just killed his entire time as champ. Question to all ya'll has Cena ever lost that title in a straight up fashion. No bs, not a well placed accident, a straight up loss??

/\ I doubt it.

Edit: I looked it up.

First time, he lost it as Edge cashed in MITB at a PPV, after a match. Got it back a few weeks later.

Then lost it to RVD the same way. Money in the Bank cash-in after a match.

3rd time, Cena held it for over a year, and got injured. Vince put it in a Orton vs. Triple H match.

*4th time, Cena vs. Orton, 2009 Hell in a Cell PPV. Orton actually tapped out to the STF, but the ref was knocked out. Orton then tied Cena to the ropes, choked him and punted him in the head to get the win. Sept '09

*5th time, he lost it to Sheamus in a table match. Cena went for an AA off the top rope but Sheamus countered and Cena fell to the floor but missed a table. Then Cena went back up the turnbuckle, and they both fell of the turnbuckle. Cena this time, fell through a table. Dec '09

6th time, he lost it to Batista after just winning the title in an Elimination chamber match and that's when Vince sent Batista to the ring.

7th time, lost it in a Fatal 4-way to Sheamus.

^^^ In response to BiggBawlzMcGee's answer to the question about Cena's title losses he did lose the belt to RVD as the result of a Money in the Bank cash in.Thing is that RVD cashed it in in advance meaning that he didn't just show up and get his title match like Edge,Miz and Punk have done.He used it to get a title match at a future date namely the 2nd One Night Stand but he only won the title after interference by Edge.So no Cena has not lost the title straight up as damn near every other star that has won the title has done.
The Super Cena shit is annoying and one of the main reasons why hardcore fans hate him so much.He can sell a beating but he sells until he begins to make a comeback and at that point it's as if the match just started because he shows no slowing down that's the result of the previous punishment that he took.

People expecting a heel turn need to give up, if cena getting his ass kicked by 2 dudes and still winning doesn't tell you that then nothing will. It seems like they're just throwing it in peoples faces now that he's unstoppable, but in real life i bet he'd get beaten down by most of the locker room in a 1 on 1 fight.

Yeah I didn't like that either...

Abyss isn't dead. He's been having good matches and once he stopped being Dave Sullivan (remember him from WCW?) and went back to being a monster heel, he's been a lot better. That time off this spring helped.
The only way no one benefits would be on the followup itself, the idea is sound. Too many X-Division guys are just highspot guys and that gets old. Styles, Lynn, Daniels, and Low Ki were better all around wrestlers than most of the guys left in the division. I don't have a beef with Abyss being champ for a minute but it would have been better to put the title back on Doug Williams and take the X-Division completely out of the Immortal vs Fortune storyline.

Yeah, I saw that...he's moving out of the "viper" phase.

That shit looked stupid. When he crossed that curtain backstage, Vince was looking at him like :hmm:. You can't go from Jake Roberts to Ricky Morton, Randall.

I was thinking the same making him more kid friendly. ( I said this before about a house show I was at when Orton first debuted he was in a 6 man tag with Too Cool. After the match when Scotty & Rikishi were doing their post match dance Orton joined in and he burst out the Running Man. ) He'll probably start doing his Legend Kller pose more and their give him some new entrance music.

Anybody else like his old theme music? I hated it at first but the lyrics were fitting at the time.

That song just makes me miss 2004. As for the wwe i hate that rock came back because he just shined a bad light on todays current stars. Rock vs Mic Foley i quit was brutal and iconic whereas cena is telling jokes while miz has him in a submission asking him if he quits:smh::smh:

The main reason you'll probably never see Cena turn heel is because of money. Cena caters to young kids everywhere whereas most adults can't stand his ass. Watch Raw tonite and see how many kids have on Cena merchandise. Dude sells a shitload of merchandise and when WWE sees all these kids have on Cena t-shirts what do they do ?? Cena starts wearing a new color thus the whole fruity pebbles reference from The Rock.Plus he's doing movies granting Make A Wish appearances and doing the tv talk show shit.

Doing Movies -

Make A Wish - Okay i'll give him that

Doing Talk Shows - For a guy who's the face of the company he didn't even get booked on a show to promote wrestlemania this year:lol:

but at the height of their previous superstars runs, they LOST!!!! This guy is ridiculous, he never loses that title in a way that elevates the new champion. Its why u never took Shaemus serious as champ cuz u knew in a regular match Cena gets the belt back. U have to create stars by having stars lose the right way. those kids will buy his shit win lose or draw, so let him lose and at least make it seem like he's vulnerable. its very rare going into a PPV or regular match with him as champ u say Oh Cena could lose this, nobody thought he would lose an I Quit match cuz its not in the character they gave him, shit even Triple H tapped out. They made Miz a bitch in 45 seconds

well at the the time The Miz was the champion so he was doing all the pr apperances

and I never said none of Cena movies were A+ movies

I was just watching Orton's old theme music video I posted and I forgot about his standing drop kick he used to do. His drop kick was right up there with Bob Holly's and Sting's back in the day. Aj has a great drop kick also.

Over one-quarter of the performers who took part in 1991's Wrestlemania VII have died, a wrestling website noted in the wake of the death of "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

The Wrestling Observer newsletter discovered that 14 of the 51 performers at the event have died in the past 20 years, with many of the deaths attributed to drug use (link is subscription only).

The list of wrestlers who have died since 1991 include some of the biggest stars in the sport like Savage, Andre the Giant, Miss Elizabeth and The British Bulldog. Causes of death include suicides, murder and heart attacks, some the result of years of anabolic steroid use. Savage died last week after suffering an apparent heart attack behind the wheel of his truck. His ex-wife, Miss Elizabeth, passed away after overdosing on a variety of drugs in 2003.

Looking at the list is a sobering reminder of the realities of a make-believe sport like professional wrestling. Not all of the men and women listed played a part in their own demise; referee Joey Marella was the victim of a car crash that occurred when he was driving home from a match.
