Here we go with that narrow minded, one size fits all WWE way of thinking again. Not every move done in a Lucha Libre style match is suppose to advance a story. That's what you guys don't seem to understand. Spotfests is what Lucha Libre is. It's suppose to pop the crowd. They do this shit all the time in Mexico. Sometimes accidents happen.

This shit that happened last night was no accident. It was negligence due to a bunch of spot monkeys doing spot monkey shit that doesn't advance the story.

The beautiful thing about wrestling is the various styles from strong style to technical wrestling to lucha libre,etc. To say that anyone who doesn't like the flippy shit is some WWE fanboy is ridiculous when they have some of this too but it isn't done to a ridiculous degree where a highspot is done a mile a minute often thru furniture in the majority of the matches. A canadian destroyer is extremely dangerous, one off the top rope even more so. A canadian destroyer off of the top rope not the turnbuckle onto to tables that are supposed to break onto the floor(not the ring which is better cushioned than the floor) 10 feet below is reckless and/or stupid. Hell Fenix got his arm broken this time last year doing something from the ring to the floor involving a table that wasn't even a quarter as dangerous as the spot last night.

Actually it does matter. It's one thing to try to advance a story and another to do something just for the sake of doing something. Don't you like Kenny Omega matches because many of them particularly vs Okada harken back to previous spots and matches as a form of storytelling?

There was NEVER a golden rule of what Professional wrestling should look like or be. There were ALWAYS different styles of wrestling. That's why I never held a tribal mindset that wrestling should be a certain way. Rather I appreciate the different styles. If wrestling was all one way it would be boring.

As I explained in a previous post to @EPDC in Lucha Libre not all moves in a match are done to advance a story. Some spots are done to get a reaction from the crowd then when they're ready they'll do a spot that advances the story.

That's a different style. The philosophy is completely different. I wouldn't judge a Japanese strong style match using the guidelines of Lucha Libre and vise versa. Each style should be judged within it's own perimeters.
