This me. I've been a whole Bret Hart stan since the early Hart Foundation days. Motherfucker raised me from childhood through the TV and he don't even know it.
In WWE? There's definitely a few who just saunter in whenever they want but I'd say for the most part outside of injury it's hard to find anyone comparable to how rare a wild Roman sighting can be lol

not too many more tragic stories than Bret, the guy really lost everything to the thing he loved most. And people wonder why he's still so mad at shit heads who ruin wrestling and the people responsible for all his loss.
Yeah for me Bret and hbk were my childhood wrestling heroes. Nobody could match those two in ring at the time, bret wasn't just physically brilliant but understood ring psychology like most others could only dream of. Not to mention he earned every thing he got and never sucked cocks or sold himself out for a few bucks.
Obviously hbk turned out to be a giant turd, but that's beside the point l
I hated HBk for a long time but hes turned his life around and as ive gotten older, ive learned to appreciate him a lot more for his contributions to the wrestling community
I was the other way around, loved HBK as a kid, was probably my favorite throughout the attitude era but once I learned more about him he got on my shit list. like you said it seems he's done his best to at least seemingly become a better human so it is, what it is.
Always appropriate Bret as an in ring performer and I absolutely hated him during his heel era, as an adult I was able to appreciate exactly how good the excellence of execution really was.
