Yes, Corny is out of touch with a lot of modern things (like any older person in society) but he's still spot on about the psychology of the business.
The fundamentals of wrestling has not changed over the years and still remains the same, despite all the new moves and quicker pace as compared to the past.
Just like the basic plot of a superhero movie is the same as it was 100 years ago, despite new technology and better filming equipment.
A lot of stuff on TV now (in all wrestling companies) doesn't make sense fundamentally and therefore doesn't have the same impact wrestling used to have on people.

Eh corny is definitely a historian and I respect him for his accomplishments like I mentioned but he's failed as booker in every single aspect and at every single job he's ever had, a lot of the talent that went through him made it in spite of him, guys like Brock, Batista, steen and a Sammy would never had made it if it was up to corny, so clearly he doesn't understand y what modern audiences want.

Also sure you can say the heroes journey is the heroes journey but that's a reductive and basic take in storytelling lol sure ultimately all stories are basically character exists, call to adventure ECT. Rinse repeat. But as we know it's the stories that break or put their own spin on convention are the ones that stand out

If Jim had his way we'd still be in the territory days and he'd still be calling black wrestlers the n word lol he's a crotchety out of touch old timer who would literally book any current wrestling program into the bargain bin.
 
I know y'all like to shit on all the "old" wrestlers returning, but it's good to see AJ Lee again after all these years.
She's been gone from WWE about as long as Punk was away from WWE.
Last time I saw her on TV was in the TV show 'Heels'. I think being on that show gave her the itch to return to the ring again.

I'm a complainer but I'll take 20 AJ Lee returns if we can rod ourselves of sex pest lesner and the worst in ring wrestler of all time John Cena lol
