Just got back from NYC/NJ for SummerSlam and RAW and I'm still a bit tired from everything but overall had a great time.
Got to meet Natalya, Maxine Dupri, Naomi, Charlotte Flair, Karion Kross & Scarlette and even got a picture with my baby Stephanie Vaquer :inlove:

Waking up to the news about WWE moving their PLEs to ESPN starting next year and there's a few things to consider:
  • I've said it before and I'll say it again here, WWE is no longer courting families on a budget looking for cheap/affordable entertainment. This weekend all but confirmed that. Everything has a price to it. You want access to the wrestlers? Pay up. You want to see the shows live? Pay up. You want to watch the PLEs every month? Pay up. It is what it is and WWE/TKO knows people will still pay in the end even if they bitch about it at first.
  • ESPN reaches way more people than Peacock and is a much more household name so it makes sense for WWE/TKO to move their PLEs there. Honestly Peacock may not even be around a whole lot longer and could get bought out or merge with another service like Paramount+ or HBO Max which is also losing money.
  • Yes, it sucks that people will now have to potentially pay $30/month if they don't already have ESPN. But let's be honest, most people are either already have ESPN through cable/satellite or they're getting it on the low through IPTV, etc.

I haven't read much into it but is it now an additional cost to watch PPVs even if you have ESPN on cable? My understanding is to get the PPVs you would have to subscribe to an additional service from ESPN, like ESPN+. If that's the case, that's really stinks.

I have ESPN on my cable package but I'm not paying an additional $30 a month to watch the PPVs and a lot of people won't either.

I get Peacock, (WWE PLE's) free with Xfinity & have the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle. I'm pretty much paying $7 a month for ESPN+, which i don't even use, so I gotta pay $23 more a month to get the same exact programming.

The $30/month is for the standalone ESPN app that is releasing this month for folks that just want the ESPN content and/or games without the need for a bloated cable package.
I can't imagine they would charge another $30/month (or anything extra at all) on top of what folks are already paying for their cable package, but who knows for sure right now.

Curious to see how this is going to affect current cable subscribers who already have ESPN as part of their package. I wouldn't put it past TKO to want to charge an additional fee for PPVs. Like UFC, you're gong to have to pay up to watch....and that's going to force me and others to fly the Black Flag and take to the high seas.

Most of us here are already doing that anyways so no big deal on our end. IPTV for the win.....

There will be a percentage of cable subscribers who will cancel their cable service and switch to this standalone app.
People are cutting the cord in the thousands each and every day.
ESPN (and now WWE/TKO) know that already and are actually banking on that to happen so they can cut the middle man out (cable companies) and provide their product direct to consumers.
ESPN is putting all their chips into this new app and if it flops that will be the death of ESPN as we know it.

They had Kross and Scarlette at a fan meet and greet the day AFTER he lost to Sammi Zayne at SS (see my post above) so I have a hard time believing they would have him out there in an interview if they're just going to let his contract run out and potentially go to AEW or somewhere else.
CVV asked Kross what his future was and he gave the typical "we'll see" answer and plugged his book coming out.
I don't quite get the Kross hype and to me he's another 'Flavor of the Month' guy that the fans have decided to support for now until they find another guy to get behind.

Here they go…..only a matter of time before we start hearing negative news about how difficult MVP and The Hurt Syndicate are to deal with. Always happens with AEW….

I really don't understand Mike Bailey. He's "nonbinary" but was born as a dude, looks and acts like a dude and is married to an actual woman. So what the hell is all the extra shit even for?
