So I’m gonna defend Tony here…it’s 2024….who really want to as Edge? Not even Edge but “Adam Copeland”?

Im not saying booking isn’t an issue. But booking isn’t why AEW is where it’s at right now. It’s a niche program for a niche audience.
None of their wrestlers come off as stars that would draw audiences, television and live event, in.

It's a combination of the booking and wrestling talent.

I agree. Booking issues and all if Roman or Seth came to AEW they’d get a boost booking be dsmned.

This only would get AEW a boost in ratings. I know I'd be watching.

I’ve just never seen WWE have an issue with ratings or audience because of poor booking.

I don't know how long you've watched WWE but I've watched it since the early 80s and I've seen it's rise and a lot of it was due to good booking. Once they developed momentum and grew and grew if some bad booking got in there it didn't matter because the momentum was too big to stop. But if the WWE would've started off with bad booking right out the gate they would've never been as big as they are today. Good consistent booking is very important. Especially to a newer promotion.

To me booking is just a scapegoat for the fact that AEW doesn’t draw a mainstream audience because they don’t appeal to mainstream wrestling fans.

I don’t think you understand how booking really works bro.

Well I’m confused because I don’t recall AEW having “bad booking” out the gate. I thought booking is what attracted you guys to them. But I stand on it. I think a lot of their booking issues stems from the roster they’ve created. Because no one can tell me that guys like MJF and Swerve are booked poorly.

Lolz TK won booker of the year a few years ago, no?

AEW didn't have good booking out of the gate, I think the fact that it was new and an (at the time) alternative to the WWE style of wrestling helped them have success early on.

Fast forward a few years later, and audiences have seen through the fake promises made and the poor booking decisions.

Add to that, TKs propensity of pushing talent that look like they belong in the crowd over guys that look like stars, pushes general audiences to lose interest.

Like I said, it's a combination of booking and the talent they sign. Yeah, Okada or "ENTER Japanese Wrestling Talent HERE" will cater to their base, but general wrestling fans, the ones who buy tickets to shows and tune in on television, aren't getting excited for these guys, regardless of how "great" they are in the ring.

Bottom line is, most of their talent don't look like stars and even if they did, TK would never book them like stars.

The booking was a mixed bag right out the gate. Especially with the mid to lower card. It started to get better around late 2020, had its best year in 2021 then started dipping again in 2022.

Great wrestling from the talent is what attracted us to them but inconsistent booking is what lost many people.

Swerve and MJF are booked good NOW but that wasn't the case a few years ago. I'll say it again the problem with TK's booking is inconsistency.

I went back and watched this week AEW Dynamite this morning!!..It was pretty good!!...The first match with Moxley vs Dax was a good!!...They went at it!!...That segment with Samoa Joe, Swerve, and Hangman was good!!...That 3 way match at the PPV should be pretty damn good!!... ...The Adam Copeland vs Daniel Garcia match was ok...I knew Christian and his crew was going to jump in!!..I'm glad that they showcasing Daniel Garcia a lot now on AEW cause he's making some impact!!.......That was last match with Orange Cassidy vs Matt Taven in that Texas Death Match was crazy!!....Damn good match they put on!!...

Overall, it was a good action packed show this week!!...I'll check out Rampage and Collision over the weekend!!..

I saw that and was wondering did Rock fuck up or was that some foreshadowing…..
Wouldn't surprise me that Roman spears the Rock on accident and Rock costs Roman the belt on night 2. Rock and Roman need to have their eventual match that concludes the blood line faction.

He's even making a L sign in the closing shot.

It will continue to be this way until he hires a real booker that knows how to properly use the talent. He literally has the best roster in the business at his disposal and doesn't have a clue on how to use them.

Brother Mastermind2002, I agree with you!!..TK need to bring in another person to help him with the bookings at AEW and also need to get better with the marketing dept at AEW as well...To me, I think TK booked matches to keep their shows entertain and action packed!!..He does alot of mix and match matches with his wrestlers for the shows!!..Maybe he thinks that sets up good storylines and feuds and also make the upcoming PPV's good!!.

I think his main focus is to set up for good PPV's matches!!...You know last year in 2023, All AEW PPV's was a hit and damn good!!..I think he want to keep that good momentuem going with the PPV's

The new year is just getting started...So we have to wait to see if things changes with how he booked matches and other things!!.

We will see!!..

The main issues with AEW from the very beginning have been poor booking and the talent on their roster.
I've seen folks say "AEW has the best roster in the world" and that shit is laughable to me.
Having the most guys that can do a bunch of cool-looking video game type moves with little to no psychology doesn't create "the best roster in the world".
At the end of the day, it's the storylines and angles that brings people in to watch live or on TV.
Revolution PPV in Greensboro is sold out not because of the "great action" in the ring but because of the storyline of it being Sting's last match.
Until TK and the AEW fans realize that nothing will change and interest in the product will eventually dwindle.
It won't matter what talent you sign (Mercedes, Okada, etc.) it's the storylines that move the needle.

TK had a ton of goodwill with the wrestling audience in general when AEW first started.
WWE was at a pretty low point in terms of creative, goodwill and talent morale because Vince was fully in control.
That was the time for TK to challenge WWE as a serious alternative.
Instead TK leaned into presenting a niche product that only caters to the most hardcore wrestling fans out there.
Meanwhile WWE product slowly improved with Vince now completely out of the picture and now WWE has all the juice.

Yes, AEW has entertaining ppvs but you can't put all your eggs into the ppv basket. You have to make your tv shows entertaining as well. For every good episode of Dynamite/Collision you get two bad ones. There's no consistency. I watch because even on the Bad episodes you will at least get a couple solid matches. A good booker is gonna have consistently good storytelling and match making. This is where TK needs help. He's trying to do too many things at once.

Now this is how you do it!
I hope Rock the Dwayne cost Roman the title in some fashion at Mania. Whether it be purposefully or accidentally doesn't really matter!

Cody does need to finish 'his' story. And his story is winning a title at Mania. Roman v Rock the Hollywood heel Dwayne for leadership of the Bloodline needs a year to breathe & is a story much BIGGER than a title.

I wouldn't ne surprised if their match is still the main event next year no matter who's holding the world titles. Enjoy night one bitch, Roman v Rock is closing night two.

Yeah, I agree with you...Some of the shows sometimes isn't consistency good every week or one show was better than the other that week..It was a couple of time that Rampage was better than Dynamite.. But I think TK thing is that he just want to have a action packed wrestling show and have mix and match matches with his wrestlers!!... But yeah, TK need to bring in another person to give another opinion and help him with the booking!!..

I finally got around to watching "The Iron Claw" last night. Fantastic film! They did a great job of capturing the essence of the Von Erich brothers. Their rise to fame and tragic downfall. The cinematography, music, directing and acting were all on point in this. Really captured that point in time. There's a few nitpicks here and there that I can point out but overall I thought they handled the story very well.

Damn Rock trolling the Bloodline lol…
