Wait, Cody couldn't be the man in AEW and went back to WWE and was immediately pushed as a top guy but these guys couldn't make it there? C'mon bruh...lol
If anything this shows that WWE writers, bookers and match produces are light years ahead of AEW. To be honest Cody has always been trash and have lived off of the Rhodes name all his life. They built his ass up and humbled the fuck out of him this weekend. His past 48 hours is them breaking him.

He was already built up before he stepped foot back into WWE. He originally left WWE as a joke gimmick in Stardust then went and wrestled in ROH, New Japan and AEW and made a name for himself as Cody Rhodes "The American NightMare". THEN he stepped foot back into WWE as a finished commodity. That's the story. The only thing that was left for him to do was win the World title and he would've done it if Vince's petty ass wouldn't have called the audible.

This thread has as much foolishness and bad takes as the NBA thread.
Where's the lie. The biggest stars on AEW is John Moxley aka Dean Ambrose. He was an intercontinental mid card Jobber in WWE. FTR was trash on the Main roster. Keith Lee, Swerve, Rusev. I'm glad TK took the belts off of all of the WWE rejects. The majority of the Wrestlers were t good enough to get through the performance center or those that did were released. I like AEW my take is that the promotion has a long way to go to compete with the likes of a WWE.

You just said he couldn't get over as a finished product and EVP of AEW. Cody was big fish in a little pond because he had come from and was groomed under the biggest wrestling promotion in the world in WWE. He realized in order for his Star(pun intended) to shine brighter he had to return to WWE. AEW/ROH. IMPACT New Japan is not cutting it. He left Kenny and the Bucks in the minor leagues and took a shot at the major. Can Cody actually carry the promotion or take it to another level. As The Bloodline states do Cody move the needle especially with this new deal. Fuck no you been to setup a Roman Brock or even a Lashley to carry the title.

So what exactly am I supposed to be upset about AEW fan boy? It's weird that you act like some people are caping for WWE cause they're not fans of Orange Cassidy and don't cheer for rampant flippity do wrestling where their dumb asses can't figure out that if you do a flipping move towards the floor from a high distance you're probably going to hit the floor with some part of your body. Hell we criticize WWE more than you criticize AEW with their bullshit

Some of WWF/WWE biggest stars were mid carders in WCW, ECW, TNA, or Indy Darlings. Sami Zayn has been purely a midcarder his entire WWE run but is over huge now. You put talent in the best position to succeed. I just posted some quotes from Reddit about fans being either brain washed like WWE is the only company that matters. Some of yall act as if you're on the WWE pay role with blatant bias posts.

And are the main ones to call someone else a mark when they act like WWE can do no wrong...lol Crazy thing is, I grew up with WWF because that's what my grandfather liked and he got my cousins, brothers and I into wrestling. I don't watch any promotion religiously and mostly keep up with wrestling with this thread but my God, the WWE stans in this thread are a bit much...

Years ago Bron would have gotten called up to main after putting someone over at the NXT ppv. May be Summer Slam.

Don't have time for slow burns when your world champion has held two titles hostage for this amount of time. The time for Roman to lose was last night and they fumbled it. People talking about if Cody beats Roman last night then what? You use those same writers who developed the Bloodline angle around Roman and you create something for Cody. THAT'S WHAT! That's their job. Hero's journey my ass. When he does beat Roman he won't get the same pop as he would've got if he won last night.

Depends how they set it up. They could give him the win at Backlash. Remember Backlash 2000? Rock lost in the Fatal 4 way at WM 2000 to HHH, then at Backlash won.- that pop at Backlash was the best one in his career. - mind you Vince definitely was definitely in the creative at that time.

If they were trying to keep Cody’s heat then when Cody came out on RAW there would’ve been no talking just straight fist flying. Officials come out break it up, and Cody snaps beats up officials, gets arrested, later that night Roman gives his usual speech/shtick and suddenly the titantron comes on, we see Jimmy and Jey walking towards the bloodline plane when out of nowhere it explodes, when they turn to go back to the car it’s spray painted with the words REMATCH. Cut back to Roman, Paul, and Solo in the ring just staring while the crowd screams “You Fucked Up “ until the lower 3rd credits come up.

- similar to when Austin blew up the DX bus when it was announced Austin was going to be the enforcer for Rock vs HHH at Backlash 2000.

Right now is the perfect time for Cody to be on some real nightmare shit ( making ppls lives a living hell) like Austin did. He may to go off script in order for Vince to really believe in him bc as of now there’s nothing real nightmarish about him.

If I can add my 2 cents relating to Orange Cassidy let's not act like WWE didn't have someone being Eric Brichoff's mentally challenged nephew who was one half of the tag team champions and was over. Orange Cassidy has a fan base and until fans turn on him you keep giving the people what they want. Rather he changes things up only time will tell.

I stopped responding to the blatant bias posts months ago. Spaceghost made a post about the bias agenda spewing tribalism over the weekend that goes comes up in here. I feel like there's fans just want good entertainment from the industry (whatever you choose to watch) and there's fans don't accept anything beyond the WWE style of entertainment. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just keep it 100. There's a lot of good and bad in both companies.

Just my 2 cents.

At this point I don't even know what to say about WWE. I'm at the "I guess we're here now." stage of things.

And I wish we had a real feud between Yoni and Kiera. It would be good wrasslin' and a bunch of ass slapping.

Groomed? He was dogshit in WWE. That's why he left. He was no star in WWE. He left and became a star THEN went back.

He realized in order for his Star(pun intended) to shine brighter he had to return to WWE. AEW/ROH. IMPACT New Japan is not cutting it.

He left AEW because he wanted to be the booker and Tony said no.

He left Kenny and the Bucks in the minor leagues and took a shot at the major.

WWE is only big in regard to money and slick production not ACTUAL WRESTLING. When it comes to actual wrestling New Japan and AEW are top dog.

Can Cody actually carry the promotion or take it to another level. As The Bloodline states do Cody move the needle especially with this new deal. Fuck no you been to setup a Roman Brock or even a Lashley to carry the title.

Those same writers that crafted that Bloodline angle for Roman when he failed over and over to get over as a baby face can craft something for Cody. Move the needle? In WWE you're only as good as the angle they develop for you.

BINGO! I personally respond to @EPDC , @c_commander and @XXXplosive 's tribal nonsense because it's fun to me and they're good sports about it. At the end of the day I want ALL wrestling to be good.

At the same time you can't take off your shades of hate for Vince McMahon. It's a matter of style and caliber of wrestling AEW is botchmania they are not as polished of a finished product as the Wrestlers in WWE.
It's common to see alot of botched spots in AEW when you see a Top Dolla or Shotzi fucking up in the Ring that shit stands out in WWE.
This has nothing to do with tribalism. I like all wrestling promotions. Hell ECW was my favorite and their wrestling was dogshit. I like the entertainment aspect. Don't act like the caliber of Wrestlers are the same. I'll compare it to football yes there are fast wide recievers in the USFL and if given a chance a few may succeed in the NFL but there are only so many spots. But the quality of receivers overall are better in the NFL than any other league. The same is true of the G league vs NBA and the same is true when I watch these current promotions.

It's funny I'm considered a "WWE fanboy", yet I've been to an AEW PPV within the last year. How many of y'all can say that?
At the end of the day I want to see a good product in BOTH promotions.
Wrestling is always best when there are two good promotions around like WCW and WWF during the Attitude Era.

Regarding Vince being "back", some of these performers that have a problem with it need to get out of their fucking feelings and realize this is a BUSINESS. Vince will always have his hand in WWE somehow. They just need to accept that. Just how much remains to be seen.

If Bray wants to walk, let him walk. His return has been a disaster and he seems to be headcase. Not worth keeping around.
Bayley is a good talent to have around, but she's not affecting the bottom line there. She's replaceable.
If she wants to go to AEW, get a big pop for one night and then get lost in the shuffle like everyone else, have at it.
If Asuka wants to go back to Japan and do all her cool moves for a fraction of the pay and a fraction of the viewing audience, have at it.

Again, funny we're tribalists and fanboys but dude can't hide his disdain for anything WWE-related and obsession with anything Japanese-related.

You're comparing a current joke wrestler in one company who they're trying to elevate to main event status to another joke wrestler from 20 years ago who was comedy relief and mid card, at best. OK

Lolz motherfuckers hate watch WWE just so they can post about their disdain for Vince and everything WWE....

I never understand why people "hate watch" something. If it ain't your thing, why not just do what I do when it comes to AEW, and just not watch it.

It is really easy to miss a wrestling show if you don't like the product or promotion.

The "Yellow Fever" in wrestling is really weird to me. Yeah they have done some innovative shit over the years, but from wrestlers (Omega/Sasha) to fans, the obsession with anything Japanese always makes me look at those types with a side eye.

Dude ran @Helico-pterFunk , an OG of this board, out of this thread because he felt he was "spamming" the thread, yet he spams this thread with constant Japanese fanboy posts and anti-WWE propaganda posts. Ironic. So who's really the tribalist around here?

Still comparable and once again OC is over. The industry has evolved. You're a business man right? It's not hard to understand to keep milking the cow until it's out of milk.

He reminds me of Divine and AEW is his Apple. Divine was an Apple superfan/cape wearing fanboy. if Microsoft introduced something innovative, he'd pop in and claim Apple does it better, etc... Even when Apple did fuck shit they could never do no wrong in Divine's eyes.

It's exactly like Divine, for those that remember him.

I understand that he sells merch and is comedy relief and that's fine to keep him around for that purpose.
But that's a small cow and it's just about out of milk.
He's a one-trick pony, a one-joke comedian, who's act is slowly growing old and tired.
And to elevate him to main event status and have other top guys job to him is ridiculous.

Yep, I remember Divine and it's exactly the same.

Come-on EP, you be making snarky remarks against AEW and Japanese wrestling too. You and Mastermind's AEW vs WWE debates be killing the vibe of this thread.

I make snarky remarks about AEW and Japanese wrestling, but I do not spam the thread with anti AEW posts nonstop nor do I post about watching a whole AEW show just to shit on it. I just don't watch AEW outside of clips on Twitter.

WWE isn't necessarily more polished they just wrestle a safer low risk style. When you do things with a higher degree of difficulty (AEW) botches are bound to happen. Sometimes moves are pulled off sometimes they're not but I'm NEVER gonna fault a wrestler for trying something high risk for our entertainment. If everybody played it safe wrestling would be boring.

This has nothing to do with tribalism. I like all wrestling promotions. Hell ECW was my favorite and their wrestling was dogshit. I like the entertainment aspect.

Super Crazy vs. Tajiri wasn't dogshit. Sabu vs. Cactus Jack wasn't dogshit. Taz vs. Bam Bam Bigelow wasn't either. I could name all kinds of classic ECW matches.

Due to your WWE brainwashing you're trying to apply WWE style guidelines to other promotions and that's stupid. Each promotion and style should be judged within its own perimeters.

I call it like I see it. I was one of first ones praising WWE when Triple H took over. He was moving the product in the right direction until you know who came back. I praised Night 1 of Wrestlemaina THEN you know who put his finger prints all over night 2. Raw the following night was a disaster and it wasn't just me saying it. I don't have disdain for WWE. I just want a better product and we had that until we didn't.

As far as the Japanese promotions I talk about them because they consistently put on great shows and by getting the word out perhaps someone would be inclined to check them out.
