Fuck all PPV moving to ESPN plus
The deal must have been completed just before the Main Event and they did not want Cody going into the new deal as the face of the company.
Watch for the elevation of Brock Lesner and Bobby Lashley, unless there was bad blood when they left UFC

I'll check the comments after the main event tomorrow but this was the right move. Cody just doesn't move the needle. You have the greatest title reign in the modern era. Cody Rhodes ain't the one to end it. Maybe Carmelo Hayes next year at Wrestlemania but none of these current dudes got the juice.

Cody wins then what. Just like Liv Morgan. Her story was to win the chip then after she wins what after that. Same with Cody. Great story to win the chip then what is he doing to keep it. Keep it on Roman, build up the US and Intercontinental belts and we got another year to figure out who is gonna take out Roman.
Agreed.
The anti-WWE marks are showing their true colors, as usual. For someone to say this will stop MJF from wanting to go to the WWE?
To me, this was a business decision. You gotta take your feelings out of it.
Yes, Cody would have had his "Wrestlemania moment" while looking up at Dusty in heaven and saying "we did it!", and tossed his biracial baby that single handedly ended racism in the air. It would be a feelgood moment for one night. OK
After last night, then what?
The better story is to have Cody keep chasing for the title. One loss under his belt will not squash all his momentum.
I predict Cody finally gets the belt at Summer Slam once Roman has passed 1,000 days as champion.

Nights 1 and 2 of WrestleMania this year was pretty solid, aside from a few boring matches.

Ripley/Charlotte stole the show and the KO/Zayn vs Usos match was the best storytelling of the weekend.

Roman vs Cody, was great but overbooked at the end. I'm not mad at Roman winning, as I see Cody finally slaying the dragon by SummerSlam. Cody had a significant setback last year with his injury, but he never suffered an in ring setback since coming back to the WWE.

I think this is where they are going. Glad he wasn't pinned clean. They made him look like a million bucks, all while keeping the belt on the needle mover.

I think since Roman is only like two months from hitting the 1000 day mark, they want to hit that milestone.

Cody will be world champion before the end of summer.
This was one of the better Wrestlemanias I can remember in recent history. Even the hardcore WWE haters gotta admit that. LOL
There were maybe 2-3 boring matches the entire weekend (I don't count the Miz/Snoop Dogg segments as actual matches).
No real "bad" matches.
Night 1 was still better overall than Night 2 though.

I am curious how WWE will handle their PPVs and content overall, now that the deal is done.
I'm guessing they will leave Peacock once their deal runs out.
Peacock is losing money hand over fist and I don't see either side wanting to re-up their current deal.
I hope WWE doesn't put all their PPVs on ESPN+, but who knows now.

Man....off the production budget and marketability alone, you would be an idiot to be in MJFs shoes and not make the jump.

Cody (last year and this year) was given a huge entrance and push.

WWE is light-years ahead of their competition when it comes to production value and storytelling.

He didn't own up to shit. He stepped down then weased his way back into the company forcing shareholders to quit. The fact that he's still involved with the company tells you everything you need to know about his sincerity. What a joke.

Does Vince hate his kids that much that he would sell off the family business at basically the sunset of his life?
His kids would have probably gotten hit with a ridiculous death tax. Minus whale sell and make the most while you still can.

Everyone has to cash in on their investment at some point.
Vince probably sees that WWE is currently worth as much as it will be anytime soon while he's still alive.
There's a chance WWE might get LESS money when they re-up their TV and streaming deals so this was probably the best time to sell.

I think the best choice to take the title off of Roman has always been Bobby Lashley. He has put together the second best resume in the WWE the past few years. He hasn't had a big feud with Roman in the Bloodline Era that I can recall.

Bobby is a great heel champion with the Hurt Business but he doesn't have the personality to be a face title holder.

Unless he's paired with MVP as a heel, he isn't getting far more will people care enough about him to root for the guy.

Man when I first saw this picture I honestly was thinking to myself who is this Asian Latino man

Man Vince done went and got his face done, dyed his brows, mustache and hair. He must be out here trying to pull the ladies.

So we had Konan do Rey's HoF, they mentioned Christian in Edge's match. Mentioned Luke Harper/John Hueber and his son. I am telling you baby steps toward WWE at Forbidden Door!!! I said what I said...fight me!!!

HOT TAKE 0UTSYDER!!!!!

Wrestling sure has changed. Almost an hour into the show, and they are just starting the second match? The first was only 3 minutes.

Although I agree there is a lot less actual wrestling on Monday nights, it's the Raw after WrestleMania. Typically they do a lot of post Mania fallout and a lot of set up for future stories...so even less wrestling on this specific show.
