I remember watching Hogan's matches in Japan through a VHS tape trading group I was apart of in the early 90's. When I saw his work in Japan it made me despise him even more in WWF because I knew what he was capable of.
Interesting. Months ago I asked everyone in here who were they're faves growing up. Now I'm interested in hearing who everyone hated/disliked?

For me there wasn't anyone I really disliked beyond the fact that they were a heel. If I really think I probably could think of someone. Maybe Earthquake because he had little kids thinking he ended Hulkamania.

I've been watching wrestling for over 30 years and I've NEVER seen Hogan bust some of those moves out. I didn't know he had it in him

Off the top of the head I always hated these wrestlers either due to bad in ring work or a horrible gimmick. I'm sure they're's more I could come up with but I'll go with these for now.

Ultimate Warrior
Akeem
Honky Tonk Man
Repo Man
Hulk Hogan
Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake
Fabulous Moolah

Mind giving some explanation? Everyone is mostly around the same age in here so to flat out dislike Hogan & Warrior growing up I just wonder why.

I only liked Hogan because I equated him to be the WWF's version of Boogie Woogie Man and Jimmy Valiant didn't have toys lol

I remember that Superstars Of Wrestling segment..first i saw where kids(and a few adults) were in the audience crying

I never cared for cartoon superhero (power) gimmicks growing up like Hogan and Warrior. A lot of what they did in the ring relyed too much on super power theatrics to win a match rather than actual wrestling skill. In Hogan's case it was the "Hulk up" where he would become invincible for a couple of minutes then deliver the worst finisher in wrestling history. In Warrior's case it was "drawing strength from the warriors"where he would become invincible for a couple of minutes leading to another bad finisher. These two purposely put superpowers into their gimmicks which I think was a cop out.

I preferred gimmicks more rooted in reality. This is why I watched more NWA/AWA/WCCW growing up than WWF. Wrestlers like Four Horsemen, Dusty Rhodes, Road Warriors, Midnight Express, Nikita Koloff, The Von Erichs, Magnum TA,, Bruiser Brody, Ricky Steamboat, Harley Race, etc were people I enjoyed watching.

I finally started watching Young Rock. Decent show, love the way they get into the history, albeit embellished history, of 1980s wrestling, especially Polynesian Pro Wrestling. Much respect to Lia Maivia. Perusing through YouTube, I came across this....very good show

Interesting conversation. I've had wrestlers that I wasn't that much a fan off. But usually for kayfabe reasons. There are as difference of presentation between WWF and NWA and the other territories. So I had way more to like than dislike. Shit I watched the Saturday morning shows and whatever came on from other promotions. I was a glutton for punishment. And in era of squash matches, you take what you can get between the hidden gems and marquee matches.

If anything, getting older I more so had issues with seeing good wrestlers getting shitty gimmicks when you knew they were better than that. Especially seeing guys go to different promotions in and outside of America I could see them in different environments doing different stuff.

If I took the time to look at rosters over the years then I could pick out how I felt about certain people at that time.

And to add back then when we had multiple wrestling magazines to read about the stuff we didn't see. There was way to much content to get stuck on something I didn't like. And being fortunate to see Ron Simmons win the title from Vader following the NWA/WCW title picture from the late 80's to the was a major thing since how they told their stories in NWA/WCW was more captivating over WWF.

I loved this! For MJF have to have a good title reign he's going to have deliver promos without sounding redundant. He's at his best when he goes back and forth with an opponent but when he does solo stuff it can get redundant.

I didn't watch Dynamite and didn't even need to see this clip before knowing exactly what MJF was going to do.

So predictable. His schtick is already getting old. You can't trust the devil. We get it. Damn near every wrestling fan alive knew he would turn on Regal. It would have been more interesting had he not.

Yeah, it's repetitive at this point. His title reign will get boring real quick if all he does is cut repetitive promos and barely wrestle.
